Window 7 forever..

Windows 7 is the best OS Microsoft has done in recent years in my opinion.

8 is better, it's just that 7 was so "groundbreakingly solid" helping restore faith in Microsoft after horrible Vista.
And a huge wave of FUD (almost like a paid job) concerning metro UI above everything sure did not help.
It was so annoying to see tons of comments from peopl who did not even try that thing out yet.

Im not paid, I dont like the store concept apple and android have integrated as well. Windows 8 is big fail in my opinion

lol ghave u tried win 8?!?!  It uses less resources than XP in my oppinion. Only thing i dont like is Metro but you can add a normal start button

Window 8 is faster but I can't find the start button Smiley

HINT: It's on your keyboard, right next to left ctrl. Wink

windows/linux here. i only use windows for web browsing.

Linux is faster. I'm currently using Windows because I have some programs which do not run on Linux sadly. But, Linux is more secure and I normally use that for web browsing.

Window 7, hate window 8 interface... Its just weird...

It reminds me of a tablet. Which I hate with a passion by the way.

did u tryed win 8 on your computer?!

It is much faster, you can remove metro and add basic start button

And free backups from NSA.

Is it true? I've heard many times but I've never seen it proven that government has access to any Windows PC which is on the internet.

http://arstechnica.com/security/2013/06/nsa-gets-early-access-to-zero-day-data-from-microsoft-others/

Interesting, I'm not 100% convinced but thanks for the link.
NSA are not only ones who get early access to 0day. Majority of them are not sasser-like guaranteed accesses. Many are browser exploits or elevation of priviledge/UAC bypasses. Most of them require for attacker to already be in local network or the target machine be directly exposed to internet.

But the Windows Update is even more dangerous. It basically without user consent or control installs everything that is served by Microsoft. WGA was one of such disasters. And it was anticipated by reasonably suspicious people to come years before it actually hit the computers.
