Yesterday was trying to place bet and during the process something in me keeps telling me to increase your wager do you know if you would hit something you never won before.. I was like is this how other people are being controlled by gambling or is it how it works? I said, no wonder some people gamble and finishes their allocation for the week or month. This can even lead someone to also go borrow if this feeling is not killed and stop, you can also see that this attributes in gambling addiction.

Many gamblers can't control the urge to increase their wager when gambling as they think they can win more when they use higher wager to bet. They can win but winning when gambling isn't what we can depend on, we'll hope to win but also we should tell ourselves that we might not win so we won't get the urge to increase our wager. When we use small amount to gamble, we give ourselves more chances to bet for a longer time and them we can win from one of those bets.

When I'm gambling, I'm very disciplined to not let my mind tell me to increase my bet, I would rather reduce my bet than increase it. There are ways we can avoid this feeling and that's by having a budget for the week and each game we want to bet on. We can get carried away when gambling but if we have a budget, we'll always be reminded that we're exceeding our gambling limit for the day to stop.

that's for sure, when they make big bets of course their goal is to get a big win too, actually the small or large number of bets played will not have an effect on the winning percentage, even if they bet with a high number of bets in my opinion it will only make money they run out quickly, indeed there will be wins that can be obtained but it is not certain and there is also no guarantee that by increasing the bet amount it will be easy to win. If you are lucky, you will win, even with a small bet amount.

I agree with you, because I also do the same thing, but gambling can change someone's mind in a short time,  therefore we still have to be careful even if we bet a small amount, because it doesn't cover our possibility of feeling emotions related to gamblings. remind ourselves no matter what  because everyone has different thoughts so I think everyone has their own way.  What is clear is that you should not be lulled by a victory that is only temporary.

We can identify those feelings, but many of us reject them and say they are fake and not real feelings. That's what caused them to decide to continue gambling.

I personally would like to think most gamblers out there which may be struggling with control other their wager and their greed are self-aware enough to realize there are feelings which are not supposed to be normal and they need to deal with them. Besides ignoring those alarms in their heads. I also think many gamblers choose to garbain with themselves in order to cope with the losses and the fact they may be addicted to gambling. They say to themselves that they will quit gambling forever as soon as they break even off the gambling losses they have had, which is very unlikely to happen, but helps them to rationalize and not feel as bad.
Even in the rare case some gambler manages to break even, if they are addicted, they would continue to find another reason to continue to gamble that same day, without pause. They could tell to themselves that since they managed to break even then luck in their side that day, and it would be foolish to waste that luck, so they continue to gamble.
It is a lot of coping and self-delusion for them not to feel bad, but we all know that such perpetual circle or lies and losses cannot be perpetuated forever, the person will break down eventually and hit rock bottom.

Ideally, they are not supposed to hit rock bottom before seeking for help, though.

Thoughts and feelings change when people play. They care about losing, but they want to take more chances to win more. When people are stressed, they might do stupid things, and some might even get hooked on video games. Although it's not true, this is how many people feel in a casino. Not knowing how the games will end is both exciting and scary. You need to control these feelings if you want to be a good player. Spending too much or doing things that make you want to win when you know you can't are bad ideas.
you will have the same feeling especially when the bet is still active. and all your prayer will be not to lose that best and if it is people like us that gamble with a small amount of money, even if I lose it won't bother me that much, and once I lose that game I will just humbly leave gambling for some time to recover from that lost and by all means not crossing that limit of not ending up becoming an addict. I always try to be content with whatever I have. and have seen a lot of people who during gambling are always scared and might end up even making silly decisions just in the name of wanting to win. and knowing fully that gambling is luck. and that no matter how you gamble if you are not lucky you won't win.

And that is the problem I have with addicts they forget that if luck is not on their side they should forget about it. and there are several ways you can put limit at least gamble small and try other things. not just gambling always. and people always love the exciting part of gambling once they win. the next thing is that they start gambling every day, before you know it your money is finished.

There are times when I doubt whether I placed the right bet or not. I always check and re-enter my betting amounts whenever I do a bet because there's that one time wherein I accidentally placed $100 instead of $10 and that bet ended up losing. It wasn't a pretty scenario , and it made hyperaware of my betting amount since then because I was trying to make something and not lose it. If I were to do it again, I'm pretty sure I'd lose my shit and just stop betting altogether  Cheesy

It comes from greed. Actually, that voice and feeling is the greed itself pushing you to gamble further, since you have already pictured the potential winnings and the things you could do with all that money. That is the feeling most of casinos try to rely on to tempt people to continue to gamble further in the long term, increasing their profits.
I would say that for us to be responsible gamblers and not to take steps in the casinos which could lead us to regrets, it would be ideal not to only think of the potential winnings of our bets, but also consider the posible losses which could come with that increased wager we start to consider when putting our bet on the table.
It is not all shinny and promising in your eyes when we take a second to realize we are allowing greed to take over and makes us assume we have a guaranteed win in the next match. All of it is an illusion, a falsehood, highly religious people would even say it is some kind of evil entity whispering in our ears.

Anyways. It is better to identify those feelings exist and try to control them instead of ignoring them and not acknowledge them.
Greed will come to us without us being able to realize it, and most gamblers will follow greed and continue gambling even though they have already experienced loss or won. They will never be satisfied with the results they have gotten, so they continue gambling, and even though they finally manage to get a big win, they only stop for a moment and continue gambling. When we start playing gambling, there will be a desire to win the gambling game, and it will be big along with the wins we get. Many gamblers who have won big do not immediately stop gambling, but they decide to use some or even all of their winnings to gamble again. But the hope of getting another big win is just hope because they experienced a loss that cost them all their money. If we can win, we should immediately stop gambling and not think about continuing to gamble because that could cause us to lose.

We can identify those feelings, but many of us reject them and say they are fake and not real feelings. That's what caused them to decide to continue gambling.

I don't think like everyone, honestly the first thing that comes to mind is that I will probably lose the money I am risking, I don't have the eager to win some money, it's always me giving my money away and when I don't see it coming, the casino gives back at times and sometimes the money is good enough.

That is rather strange logic. Either you are a huge pessimist, or I dont understand why you gamble in general. You place bet and think about loosing. Why dont you try not placing a bet, but give money to others from the start? (as you say that you always share money). I think you should change your attitude to gambling and start believing more in yourself. You already start with "I wont make it" mood. I can suppose you have such attitude not only with gambling. I suggest to be more positive.

Yes hearing such an idea is quite strange when someone wants to lose in gambling Cheesy, but on the other hand I think it seems like he is quite desperate with his gambling involvement because he always loses in the previous sessions maybe, or he has the right understanding of gambling which is a game of probability that will only be able to give you a win if you are lucky, and with this makes him not expect any victory there. I slightly agree with this idea because it is true that "hope" is usually always the starting point for a gambler to do some out-of-control actions such as chasing a win because they gamble based on hope which indirectly makes them feel less accepting of the possibility of risk if it happens.

But on the other hand your statement is also quite reasonable here which if indeed someone does not want to win at all then it is better to give their money to people who are more in need like beggars for example,. Another thing is that gambling is nothing more than a probability activity as I said above and this understanding really should not be ignored and must be owned by every gambler, because with this then I think you will be able to maintain a consciousness not to act out of control, after all as our friend said above that even if we don't put any hope if we are lucky then the victory may also come by itself and he has experienced it.

I had such feelings too when I first started with gambling and had to learn the hard way that these are not productive thoughts. Our brain likes to engage in wishful thinking and will imagine all the potential profit from gambling, completely disregarding the risk we take. With lotteries this behavior is the strongest for me. My mind keeps telling me to place additional numbers to double my winning chance. Even though a winning chance close to 0 is still close to 0 doubled. The only thing that really helped to not fall for that behavior again was to have fixed budgets for every type of gambling. Only with a hard limit on my bankroll I can tell my brain there is no additional money to be used.

How can I always wish to make free money when I don't plant any seed to make me expect some gains? I only expect money from where I put in a lot of effort not like gambling, this gambling thing is like giving you an opportunity out of 100 of bad luck, you can't rely on gambling like you should with your business or your source of income.

If you don't have a skill, start looking for one, if you are into business don't destroy everything with your gambling activities, let your business be your main focus, if you are making good amount of money you will be able to gamble out of fun, not trying to be a millionaire by gambling.

Op that is what we all as gamblers pass through. It's normal and that is just a trick in gambling that can easily get you to become an irresponsible gambler. That is why we always recommend you are discipline before you get into gambling, so you'll no when to say no, even when the I looks like you have a high probability of winning the bet. "Stake higher this might be your lucky day" that's the thought that always come to my mind, but I just shun it and keep doing my regular. Gambling is for the strong minds and not for the weak.

That was ridiculous, Why the guesture probability that "you may win" instead of whispering that "you would win"? So that you could be confident about it even if it was a false whisper. Lol.
Well, in gambling there is always a thoughts that we basically can't abidt with them all because you would be encouraged and discouraged by the UPs and DOWNs along the lines.

I was like is this how other people are being controlled by gambling or is it how it works? I said, no wonder some people gamble and finishes their allocation for the week or month. The act of going astray in gambling is a responsibility of the gambler to decide his/her gambling status and of course be self determined with his prediction.
There is always several thoughts while staking and predicting on the gambling board.

If increase it and experience failure, will definitely feel regret and I don't want that to happen.

Not only after experiencing a loss. There is a theory in psychology about "the mind that reminds" (sorry but the technical term may be different in English) which states that before we make a decision we think about the ulterior consequences and the regret we may feel if we're wrong.

On the other hand, there is "the mind that experiences", which is consistently looking for pleasure.

As a result of the clash of both systems, we make decisions. So that's what comes to our mind when gambling.

Everyone will have some kind of suggestion or belief in what they will do, especially in gambling there must be series of beliefs such as things that are taboo but will always come and haunt each gambler.
No one can avoid it and the only way is to suppress it.

Quote
However, have you had this feeling while gambling before be it offline casino and online casinos?
This usually happens and with every bet I also experience the same feeling, especially if the predictions have are truly convincing in order to increase chances of winning then the desire to increase the bet amount will also be greater.
But because I have limits and control, I can suppress my desire to increase the number of bets and in the end I only bet what I can afford to bet.
If increase it and experience failure, will definitely feel regret and I don't want that to happen.

I think this happens if someone is unable to control themselves, this feeling will always be there if we want big profits. If we increase our bets the amount of profit is also big but the risk of losing is also big so we have to be careful so that gambling doesn't dominate our mind us because if we easily increase the bet without thinking about the risk of losing it will make us lose money quickly because there is no guarantee of winning when gambling.

Sometimes I also feel like that when I am betting on sports and increase my bet because I know the chance of profit is big and in the end it makes me regret because I have to lose more money, sometimes we also have to be able to restrain ourselves from spending too much money in although betting has a big chance of profit, in betting the risk of losing is still greater than the chance of winning.

However, have you had this feeling while gambling before be it offline casino and online casinos?
As matter of fact, that is the main reason for gambling addiction. Almost all gamblers have that mentality. There is always a driven force that controls the innermost part of you, which drives that force of making you think such. Expecially when you had the opportunity to play a certain game with big amount and hit a jack pot and you never did, due to fear of failure. When nest you want to play your instincts tells you to stake higher that you have made this same mistake before. So now is the time to hit the jackpot again. If you are not careful you play with emotion and loose.

All players will experience the same thing, in my opinion, keep thinking about what amount to use, increase or decrease or stay at the limit that is usually applied, because usually players will calculate how much profit they will get and also the opportunities for losses, so that's not just what happens in your mind, and these are all temptations that players must be able to overcome well, otherwise gambling will damage our finances, because we cannot overcome all temptations so we gamble beyond the limit, and I will stick to my limit and will only increase when previous gambling gives a profit so that it can be used to increase bets but of course not all because we should also be able to enjoy the profits obtained.

Yes, I experienced this as well. I guess it's a normal feeling especially if you're betting on something that you think is most likely going to win or when you feel that it's your very lucky day or bet. Of course those are just your gut feelings. They're not really feelings that are based on something solid. In the end it will be up to you to either give in to that feeling or avoid falling for it once more. I'm sure this feeling had already hit you in the past and instead of winning you ended up losing.

Well for it to be easy to understand, if you play games gamble to win money you might feel tempted to bet more and more. However, it's important to be careful because those feelings can trick you into making bad choices. It's like hoping too much for a big win and sometimes it can end up being disappointing. So it's better not to rely on gambling to make your hopes come true.

I think such feelings are no longer strange if they arise when you are running a session, but in my opinion it depends quite a lot, I mean depending on what exactly your goal is to come to gamble, feelings like that must be there but it depends on you, if indeed your goal is to gamble in order to get a number of wins then it seems like there is a great potential for you to be influenced by such feelings that end up being tempted and do it, even though it is nothing more than a temptation that arises because of the hope in you so that it indirectly creates an illusion in the mind that seems to encourage yourself to try to increase the amount of bets.

I think the point of the problem is in the purpose of your arrival, because this is very much related to the expectations that exist within themselves for an end result that is in accordance with what is desired and also on the other hand this is the feeling that addicts have where they always think and feel confident that there seems to be success in getting a big win if they increase the amount of bets. when in fact all of that is nothing more than a temptation that will only trap themselves in the end result which is usually disappointing, which is why it is always not recommended to put hope in gambling.
