It's none of our business.

I respectuflly disagree.

As an owner of Bitcoins it is of interest to me who the other participants in this market are and what they do. If for instance (a very drastic scenario to illustrate my point) Roger Ver posts that he intends to sell all of his Bitcoins, then the value of my Bitcoins will certainly decline.
As you can see there is a direct causality relationship between all participants in the Bitcoin market.
Therefore knowledge about large owners, the sizes of their holdings as well as their intentions are in fact crucial information for everybody who owns Bitcoins.

Curiosity doesn't make it any of your business.

I know Satoshi is claimed to possess 1.1 million BTC (which would be an insane amount)

But who are the other really large holders and how much do they own? Roger Ver? Gavin Andresen?
I remember someone claiming that Ver owns about 300.000 BTC, is there any place where this is confirmed?

I have checked http://www.bitcoinrichlist.com but they only show adresses and we cant know with certainty which of those are connected.

Are there any confirmed large holders, who openly talk about the amount they possess?
its not easy to find who is the highest bitcoin amount holders, but some address will proof that outhere will many ore bitcoin holder who have some many bitcoin on their address, this is i give you some.

Yes I forgot Karpeles.

I guess it's quite possible that he has set aside a nice stash after all those years betraying his customers.

You can't enjoy all that money when you're getting ass raped in prison Cheesy

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
You are one of the richest people in the world

You are a member of the 1% in human wealth

and 1% least hungry

We should grind up the poorest people in the world to make pet food. It would solve two problems at once. It would end world hunger because they're gone and provide a cheap source of pet food.

Why would anyone be stupid enough to release their net worth?

Satoshi is rolling in his grave. #bitcoin
I think exchanges own a huge stack of coins, and i'm not only thinking about Ver here. Just look at btc'e for example and their volume of trades. They
made 12 000 USD in fee's just on btc/usd trade pair today, and it's quite possible they're keeping some profits in bitcoins as well. Day in day out, they
earn from those fee's, to this day that amount they own could be insanely large.

I thought someone tried to extort Roger Ver one time? Then he posted a bounty for their location name etc and they backed down?

satoshi is the undoubted nr1 when it comes to owning the most bitcoins. as a second it is either mark karpeles or roger ver. i hope mark karpeles will dump his last coins, if he haven't already. that means a less worry for the people.

I am not sure if it is only one single person or a group.
But coinbase should be in the top people/company that have bitcoins.
I will try to find the source as i read it somewhere here in forum.

I don't think it's needed for anyone to know. Most people split their bitcoins over different addresses anyway. I don't think we'll every find out.

And my address is not on this list  Cry

Seriously, why is this mysterious account of Satoshi not listed? I do not know the address but all (including the media who discovered Craig Wright) writing about an account with 1,1 million Bitcoins.

i know all accounts!

.....but no names  Tongue

We can only know addresses. Most users of course split their holdings between multiple addresses. Satoshi's Bitcoins are presumably all still unspent outputs from mining rewards (50BTC each)

No, and why would they? It's nobody's business to know this. I like to think that Satoshi owns the most and that he/she or that group, whoever that may be, are/is the richest.

A Romanian billionaire called Mircea Popescu is rumored to hold a massive stash of Bitcoins, but I couldn't find out exactly how many he has. He paid $20,000 to help OpenBSD and I keep coming across his name on bitcointalk. Someone here must know more about his stash.

Described as a Romanian billionaire, an individual named Mircea Popescu has offered to bail out the OpenBSD Foundation.

The Foundation responsible for maintaining OpenBSD is $20,000 in the red over an electricity bill for powering the servers which host the operating system.

As yet, Popescu does not feature on the OpenBSD list of “significant” Foundation sponsors.

In an IRC session on January 19 Popescu had asked how to make a donation. On a #Bitcoin-assets IRC here, he made a comment that’s been taken as read that he had donated. “And it pleases me to announce openbsd got itself sponsored,” he wrote.

I have read about the guy. He seems rather eccentric but has been/ is involved in a couple of interesting ventures.
I doubt he is a 'billionaire' though  Cheesy

You will never find out, there's just no need to. There's a reason why bitcoin is semi anonymous.
Nobody needs to know how much bitcoins anybody owns.
