Many people selling their bitcoin if the price increase because they want to make a profit. But not everyone has the same mindset. However my advice to those who sell just for no reason is to please hold as long as you can for prices to increase further.

People are selling Bitcoins to buy new Bitcoins Wink I think this is all about having "real" money, that people could touch. Also, It's good for using it at ICO's

Bitcoin has no central point of selling market, because bitcoin deals with smart contract base on peer to peer transaction by using Blockchain technology for honest of each transaction trust.

People are selling bitcoin because they need money like for their needs everyday or emergency purposes or other people are afraid the price of the bitcoin decreased more because if that happen they lose some profit. But if you need money and you decide to sell your bitcoin just sell  only some bitcoin.

Everyone in here is desperate to convince each other the Bitcoin can only go up and therefore you have to buy and hold.

But when you buy Bitcoin, someone is selling it to you.

Why are people selling Bitcoin?

The knowledgeable people are the ones who are now slowly selling out before the bubble bursts. When you are now buying more and more Bitcoin ("investing" as people in here call it) who do you think you are buying them from?

You are buying from the knowledgeable people who are slowly getting rid of their Bitcoin.
Some people are selling their bitcoin because maybe they are in need of money. It is better to sell bitcoin in a person than to sell it in an exchange in which will charge a high transaction fee. Everybody also cannot hold bitcoins so there should be a time somebody would sell their hold. All in all we cannot hold someone decision.

You may have heard te news lately. In case you have not: https://www.ccn.com/8200-btc-moved-from-mt-gox-wallet-possible-sell-off-affects-bitcoin-price/ The trustee of the remaining mt.gox bitcoins may be manipulating the market by selling off huge chunks of btc at a time to keep the price below 9k$

You can't keep holding forever, it have no sense. Personally, i sell sometimes when i'm in need of cash or when the price is dropping and i'm planning to re-buy with lower price.

There are two options I see for people who are selling bitcoin: they really need fiat or they have more than enough to hold... And need fiat.

Either way, people can give you advice but try to set your own objectives and plans, after all only you know your financial situation and what you need. Don't mind too much the pieces of advice, use it in your own accord, just try not to lose your income, because you might have needs right now, but you will always need money.

Well, not everyone holds the thoughts about rising price of bitcoin. May be they are not sure enough and sell BTC in order to avoid further risk. Also many BTC holders may actually need to sell their bitcoins and they have their own reasons.

Well in every market there must be a seller and a buyer. People sell bitcoin for various reasons. Some bought during the February dip when price went down very low and are trying to get their profit our, some sell now to use the money. Others are normal traders who do daily buying and selling. From the beginning till bitcoin got to the height it got to last year there has always been buying and selling and it will surely remain that way.

They sell bitcoin because that's what it does, sell / buy bitcoin to get a profit, or sell bitcoin for wanting to get some cash money.
Maybe this guy has vast knowledge but they do not know the future, so they trust the bubble issue. and sell his bitcoin to an optimistic person can benefit from buying bitcoin.
Some are selling just because they believe that they have gotten enough profits from investing out of it. Other sell their bitcoins because they may need the money for emergency purposes.
Mostly, selling due to important things where bitcoin is the only source of it and there is no other option even there is small profit to get. We sell bitcoin to have in cash to be used to buy needs and for allowance. If bitcoin is your only way to earn, you can sell because you work for it to have financial support despite of the volatility that the price will gonna up more after you sell but you cannot wait for that long.

Bitcoin price is volatile , it keeps on change based on demand and selling the bitcoin. If we see the bitcoin selling part , people who wants to trade quickly and who are unable to hold for long time to see the good results .If bitcoin price going down then they will confuse and sell it to loose less compared with real price where they will not enough patience to hold to see good price.

It's suit for saving money for long term, your little saving can turn to a wealth if the price multiply in the future.

In my opinion, Bitcoin is increasing in future after you'll need the capability to profit in future. There is always a supply and demand. someone sells because it is necessary to fix profits, then to buy again, if no one sold bitcoins, and everyone would hold it, the price soared to heaven, on the supply deficit and big demand.

One can think about his/her safety.  Cybercrimes are so popular that having BTCs can be dangerous.  Others realize this and sell their BTCs right away.  Other reasons than that are people needing urgent money or others don't need it anymore.
