The first one to arrive on earth and the last one to turn the lights out and must be a real VIP if he is the same person.

They all are important to me because they all contributed their respective quotas to humanity.

Since I was not a believer, Mohammed and Jesus Christ is not my role model, Albert Einstein for me the most important person in the world Smiley

i agree.. There are many very important ppl, or leaders in our history. For one to take more importance than another is very hard, as they all have their own roles, as we have our own. Throw in religious leaders and this thread could turn into a shit slinging match or perhaps an all out war by the 6th page..

I wish we could do this thread with poll without people in it who were  religious leaders. Arguing which religion is better is pointless and It will always bring some sort of conflict upon us.

Hitler  Undecided Lips sealed Cry

Without those wars, current technology: World Wide Web, Smartphones, Bitcoins may never existed  Shocked

By that logic, one could easily argue that all those resources and lost lives could have easily been used to boost our technology level instead, allowing us to have even more advanced technology now. Tongue

At first I was really surprised to find Jesus Christ as the winning choice. But actually this may in fact be the case. A lot of people live their lives 'according to him' and see him as their saviour. Thus he really is an important person, whether he ever existed or not. The mere concept has changed many lives already. Frightening what religion can do...

Enough with these Jesus Christ answers. If we are going by that logic Homer Simpson is the most important person as well.
Oh guess what, there is no proof that he ever existed either.

yeah there is
Jesus is a historical person

however, his acts are probably bullshit Cheesy

Nikola Tesla, there wouldn`t be bitcoin if he hadn`t invented electricity.

yep..

he should of been insereted

I mean, Albert Einstein was a smart man
but he's over hyped
he didn't invent anything so important to humanity as Tesla did

So you are telling me that the machines that Tesla prototyped are more revolutionary than discovering the relationship between energy and matter, space time?

Jesus and Mohammed have probably led to more deaths in their name than people they have saved.  If you put them on the short list Hitler and Genghis and Alexander should be on that list.

Actually, it seems that most historical scholars agree that Jesus did actually exist, though there is disagreement to what extent the events recorded in the bible reflect the actions of the man. After all, that part of the bible started being written several decades after Jesus' death (some 40 to 80 years after he died), and most importantly, it was never intended to be an historical record as it is understood today: it deals with something called sacred history. That is, instead of focusing on recording events as they happened, it records what they believed the persons involved were like, if necessary then creating a story around them to illustrate it.

I probably butchered the explanation though, so here is Reza Aslan in an interview in The Young Turks, which explains it all:

I think you should allow us to choose by ourselves, and nominate any person we feel is most important.
If I have to choose between just this 4 persons, I will say Jesus because his message of love for others and that God s our Father is something what goes beyond any particular religion, nationality or race.
