Sure, maybe millions have died in his name, but this doesn't necessarily have to be "the most important person ever" only for good reasons.
And of course, there is always the part about religion more often than not being used as an excuse; the population in general might be true believers, but they were/are just being used to further someone's worldly power/access to resources. In this sense, religion is just another tool to be used, not the cause.

God is the most important person ever. He created heaven and earth and all the living things in the universe. He is such a wonderful God he died on the cross to forgive our sins.
I think historically the most important person is Jesus Christ, there are still thousands of churchs and millions of believers around the world, even after 2,000 years. If we had can count the times the word Jesus is said every day you would be sure whos the most important person of that pool, i dont think after 2,000 years the people will even remember albert einstein or satoshi, in fact satoshi should have been eliminated already, many people know about bitcoin but almost nobody knows the "history" about satoshi nakamoto.
