my go to is McAfee  Grin The guy obviously knows how to bring in more people into Bitcoin because of his overhyped price prediction.

I'm not really sure you chose John Mcafe to represent bitcoin in my opinion John Mcafe is not a smart and good person for that even though he has launched several projects, unlike Andreas Antonopoulos who has a lot of experience and can also understand many things about bitcoin.

I would personally choose Andreas Antonopoulos to represent bitcoin because in my opinion he is worthy in that field.

I agree that John Mcafe is not fit for that position as popular influential person to spread the word of bitcoin. he promote different kind of projects and those words he gave to users are variable. I think his not have a lot of experience about blockchain and crypto. money is everything for him, so I will not suggest him will become that popular. choose wisely so everyone could follow and learn their words about cryptocurrency.

In recent years it doesn't make much difference who talks about bitcoin, doesn't change anything. Take for example the price issue, even if any analyst makes any price forecast no one else takes it seriously, but if these:

1- US President

2- president of china

say they will legalize bitcoin, so the price will go up a lot, these are the people with the most influence on price when they open their mouth to talk about bitcoin

John McAfee is the single most influential person in Bitcoin.

What do you think?

he is the biggest joke to the crypto world

In my opinion, Gavin Andresen, he's one of the most prominent and vocal members of the Bitcoin community,
Weird post, I would have sworn it was copied from elsewhere and long ago but couldn't find it.

Gavin has been absent from Bitcoin for many years, almost completely absent since he backed an obvious scammer and claimed he was Satoshi.

As far as the repositories go and alert key goes, many people were given access-- just most had the good sense to not brag about it where it might get them targeted. I even sent some of the alerts when the alert key was still in use and also signed the final alert.

Here you go-- this is the alert private key:

Now you are the most influential person in Bitcoin.  Good luck.

John McAfee is the single most influential person in Bitcoin.

What do you think?

Most influential clown in Bitcoin. He just uses Bitcoin to increase publicity for his political purposes. We all know Bitcoin is a HOT topic in America and the master of security used it to climb to the top even though
he just keeps shilling and spouting baseless prediction.

I think CZ is the most influential person in the bitcoin world. You can notice that every time he make a statement on his twitter. Everybody keeps an eye on it, Some give support, meme or criticism. This is the
main factor to determine a single entity is popular or not.

I would have chosen Satoshi Nakamoto, the true influencer of Bitcoin but the guy seems to have disappeared after the creation of Bitcoin, without no public appearance afterwards.
However, my go to is McAfee  Grin The guy obviously knows how to bring in more people into Bitcoin because of his overhyped price prediction.

This is a very good point. The mere fact that John McAfee is making these unbelievable predictions might cause some people to actually get in :-)

This guy knows how to make people laugh... at him and his ridiculous predictions. This man is not influential at all in terms of cryptocurrency. He is famous because he is John McAfee but he is not influential in crypto. He is famous because he exaggerates prediction figures but he cannot even influence the prices of the shitcoins he is promoting. He is not going to cause any pump at all no matter what he says.

I would've chosen satoshi too if he was still showing himself to the public. but he does still have influence. I also would've agreed with you upon choosing
McAfee because of his "overhyped price prediction." but that type of influence could backfire. In my opinion, Andreas Antonopoulos has the most influence
regarding the growth and acceptance of bitcoin he teaches and explains the entirety of bitcoin and how it functions.

Andreas Antonopoulos, no doubt. He has been a true bitcoin advocate and has been sharing his knowledge for the longest of time without any hint of personal interest whatsoever for making money. On top of that, he explains bitcoin and economics pretty well without being bias about it. Talk about someone whom you could read books of and listen hours upon hours of podcast and talks regarding bitcoin, politics, economy and society in general, he is your guy.

You're not going to see Satoshi coming out, its better that way. There are people really knowledgeable about BTC and all of the blockchain being a platform for all these cryptocurrencies but you will start learning to see Andreas is best for it since he knows not just the ins and out of cryptocurrencies but also have the knowledge to financial institutions and banks. He is even a programmer himself though not an expert but he knows more than enough to live his life paying everything with BTC.

Everybody is like joining the bandwagon in cheering Andreas. Andreas! Andreas! But tell me honestly, how many of you guys saying Andreas is the most influential person in Bitcoin have actually read one of his books? How many videos of Andreas have you actually watched?
Mate.. why do the majority of votes fall to Andreas?  because of the intelligence of his detailed explanation of Bitcoin is very easy to understand.  I totally agree with the majority voice.

I am not disagreeing with that. Andreas is good in speaking and has the passion and vast knowledge about Bitcoin. No wonder why his books are popular and his video watched and he is invited as speaker everywhere. He's a professor after all.

The single more influential person in Bitcoin is no other than Satoshi Nakamoto! Alive or dead, real or fake, individual or group, Satoshi is still on top as the most influential person in Bitcoin.
everybody would say this too if satoshi is physically real.  the problem is.. do you know where satoshi's house is!!

Lol. Do we have to know the house of the person first before he gets qualified as a Bitcoin influential person? And you think Satoshi is not physically real, don't you?

We are really fortunate that Bitcoin does not have a strong face associated with it, and it's probably what it's attracting so many people. This is not a one person game behind who we all rally to his/her command. This is a community and voluntary effort. We all do what we feel, some stick some does not, and Bitcoin keeps going further. the day Bitcoin is represented by one face, that is the day I know Bitcoin is going down and its time to pull out.

In fact I don't recognize any leading voices, influential person or whatever you name. There are however a few people that have done a lot for Bitcoin's development but I couldn't list all of them without forgetting or just not knowing about some of them so I'm not going to. but if you force me to say one name, i would say "theymos" for running the biggest Bitcoin community.

In other words:
If you had to choose one real person to represent Bitcoin (in the public or in a debate against other crypto currency representatives), who should it be?

(It's clear that Bitcoin isn't led or represented by any single one person officially, which is what makes that question so hard to answer. It's also clear that this is feature, not a bug!)

Andreas Antonopoulos is the best one all the time. When it is going about Bitcoin, he is always there. Find him on Twitter @APompliano, he is awesome

I'm his twitter follower too. He is always active especially issues concerning bitcoin, brought his opinions, explanations and ideas about bitcoin  etc. Mostly here favors him and he is, seems he is knowledgeable about bitcoin, and more people read his insights. He is more on educating, spreading bitcoin awareness - a btc evangelist.  Cheesy

On the top of my head, Andreas Antonopoulos.
I just got done watching a couple of youtube documentaries about bitcoin, one of which was about Mark Karpeles, and it was really good.  I'm not saying Karpeles was a positive influence by any means, but he did influence the market...a *lot* back when Mt. Gox was in action.

There were a few other old school bitcoiners in those videos, but I didn't see Anonopoulos in either one.  I recognize his name from threads on this forum but I don't think I ever saw him speak.  I'll take your and other members' word for it, tho.

I should probably learn some more bitcoin history and learn who the big players are since I got interested in it very late (relatively speaking) and don't watch much bitcoin related media.  My youtube splurge today was an abberation but one I may repeat.  Those docs were very interesting.

If I have to choose only 1 person: Andreas Antonopoulos
But with the whole concept of BTC and cryptos, it's not good to choose one person
But I choose this person because we have a lot of influent people in BTC that are crazy or stupids
