It is safe if you observe basic security measures. or when you do not keep your keys on your work computer, and use hardware wallets
I use an offline wallet but I think I prefer performing transactions on myetherwallet. So sleek and very easy to use as long as you don't fall into a scam site.

I do..i think ether wallet is cool...but you still have to be careful though since it's online, anything can happen
MEW is a good website. I uses it also to check my balance because it is more convenient and safe than other wallets out there.

This is so far the best wallet that I have tried for storing my ethers and erc20 tokens. It is safe but you still need to have caution because it is still vulnerable to hackers

You can also see here your available coins in just one click and the good thing is you don't need to put your private keys every time just to see your coins as putting your private keys online are prone to be hack.

I use myetherwallet. I think myetherwallet is quite helpful and safe. helps us more easily accept token bounty results, and sell it. but myetherwallet is not so safe if we are not careful in save private key, many events that lose their tokens suddenly. maybe myetherwallet should increase its security.

So I would say that you’re in safe hands with MEW as long as you keep your private keys secured.
I use MEW as well. I think it is considerably safe to use in as much as you make sure you are on the correct MEW website. I've heard some horror stories of people using a phishing site thereby losing their coins. Although i also think that hardware wallets are really the way to go. I recently got bought myself a Nano ledger S. You can never be too careful these days.

I want to note that if you are selling tokens via etherdelta, using your private key, it is a good choice to open a new wallet and send valuable tokens to that wallet. Mew works quite well.
I'm planning of selling some with etherdelta and thanks for this up. I'm using myetherwallet since then and being aware that there's a lot of phishing links that are trying to get some victims of MEW. It is a legit wallet and one of the easiest wallet to use ever, it's a safe one where we can login everywhere we want and everyone here is sure that they are using private keys for doing it. Jump to:
