Very important question too is how much your father paid bitcoin. If he was in profit, scare of losing funds could make him thinking about selling it or staying on hold. Even then it is hard to make any decision, bitcoins value was decreasing very sneaky through whole last year, making people to think of the trend as something that is current and that market will recover soon. Should I sell or wait is question that no one can give right answer based on the valid facts. I hope that your father sold the coins then and that he bought them again on double cheaper price.
Investors are keep worrying to the price of the bitcoin because they are scared to lose their investment. They doubt that the market will fall again and it is the reason why they are noe panicking.

Of course your father should keep holding bitcoin. There's no reason to sell it now at such a low price, because such a drop is not the end of the technology. It still has a great prospect for growth and that is why I advise you to continue to keep your coins.

I'm also anxious even before because the price also depends on ICO projects and other campaigns, investors usually decrease this time since they hold coins to avoid losing profits, people joining campaigns might get a lower share or reward
The price of Bitcoin continues to fall worrying about bitcoin owners, for fear of suffering losses. But for long-term investment, you don't need to worry because the price of bitcoin will definitely rise again, and will provide profit to the holders of bitcoin.

Any update regarding your pops decision? if OP is still there, you should tell and ask your pops many times if he's in serious manner and badly needed the money.

If that's the case, you can't do anything with that if he feels hopeless with bitcoin after encouraging him many times that bitcoin will rise again soon. Otherwise, teach him to buy at dip.

My father is anxious pertaining to the fall and rise in bitcoin price. He has four(4) btc and he is afraid to hodl. He wants to sell at a lower rate. Any advice for him?

Maybe your father bought bitcoin with very high price in the market when the price reached peak at the end of year 2017.
Selling with a lower rate was a good decision to cut the loss, but if he want to sell now, better not selling and keep holding.

I think you should just show your father a graph of bitcoin price dynamics, and then you will see that from the very beginning of its creation, the coin has grown several times. All these price fluctuations are only temporary difficulties for bitcoin.

"Temporary difficulties"? What is that? Something that ITs or the maintenance should work on so you coined the term "temporary difficulty"? That is not. It is normal for Bitcoin and any other crypto currencies to dump or pumo, why? Because they are volatile. They are not controlled by any thrid parties and the only thing that makes it going is the demand of it by us, users or investors.

I consider myself a true believer in bitcoin, so of course I recommend you in no way sell your coins. If you and your father are also confident in the prospects of bitcoin, then do not hurry with the sale. I think that bitcoin will recover and you will still be able to get your profit.

I think you're still in profit if you bought it at ICO price, $100, even at $1000. They all just want big profits from out of nowhere investing here. We all know this bear market won't recover soon enough for everyone to be actually into it 'again'. Maybe in another year or so but not soon enough.

It's normal to be anxious when you think about the possibility of losing your money. From what I can tell your father probably invested all his savings in bitcoin and now his just waiting for the price to go up so he can get some profit but hes gotta understand this is a long process that could take months and probably years so there is absolutely no reason to worry about it now. Patience in very important when you invest in bitcoin since the orice could change like the wind blows, one days it goes up 10%, the next day it goes down 15%.

I think that if you invest in bitcoin, then only use a long-term investment strategy, or as it is often called hodl. We see that the price fluctuates very often and falls very low, but this does not mean that this price is final. Everything will recover, you'll see.

The most common advice that a literate bitcoin investor can give you is to keep holding your coins. It makes no sense to sell them now that prices have dropped so much, you will only lose your profits. Wait.

if your father believes in bitcoin, I think you can advise him to hold your bitcoin and I think that holding bitcoin is more good than selling at the lower price. but if you want to quit in bitcoin, you can withdraw it

You should explain to your dad that in Bitcoin and actually all cryptocurrencies he should invest only in the long term. Show him historical Bitcoin price charts and explain that after each bubble there is a price correction and after each correction another bubble.

Currently, Bitcoin price did really reach the lowest rate record of the year and their is no clear sign of a healthy market for Bitcoin and as well as the whole crypto currencies but still i will advice to extend patience and keep on holding as what is the point of selling it low right now? in which it will just surely lose your investments. Bitcoin is good for short term and long term investment in which there is high assurance that our lose investments will be take back and earned more.

I am also anxious since my altcoin profit depends on bitcoin's price. But it won't stop me from waiting for bitcoin's price to bloom. There are still developments that undergoes about bitcoin so it would still improve. Don't let speculators change your mind since those are just assumptions without reasonable proof.

I think in every speculation there is a risk, and if bitcoin grows back it will be a regret for your father.
once again this is a matter of experience, knowledge and searching for all sources of information to ascertain the stage of speculation decisions.
for now, it's only natural for me to be nervous. but, I think, selling it right now is pretty difficult, because I think the price of bitcoin will be even higher. well, many feel that the price of bitcoin will be above $ 5,000 in 2019, and I believe that.
