Paypal community ultimately has taken right decision by choosing bitcoin and get abstain from accept the centralized ripple coin.even if Paypal enable their system to buy & sell for ripple in next attempt, don't think any major change could be occurred on its price cause ripple totally trush coin.those kind of approvement or acceptance can't bring any suceesful for shitcoin like ripple and op should be crucified.

Bitcoin is the best compared to other digital currencies that's why paypal choose it and it should be always the first choice. Also they know that bitcoin is already a developed digital currency and more useful than other coins. The demand of bitcoin keep on increasing which I think paypal knew it. But I think they will also add XRP later ,so don't be sad, just wait and see.

I always found these XRP shills to be very funny, they are so much in it for themselves that they can't even see what they are talking about or what they are compare themselves to neither. We are talking about BITCOIN, as in the main coin of crypto world that has so much value that only bitcoin itself worths more than all other coins combined in the world, and they are asking why the third coin with the highest centralization and a company with CEO's behind is not getting in the paypal instead of it.

Are you even serious? Do you know the difference between XRP and BTC and why they can't even be compared to each other? Obviously they are not going to list XRP before they do BTC, because bitcoin is the leading coin and currency of the crypto world and XRP is not even remotely there.

Its a valid question you asked which i dont think anyone should criticize you for but we all know bitcoin is the number crypto currency with enough reasons to be the first crypto PayPal is going with but im sure sooner or later Paypal would add XRP as another payment option since it has cheaper transactions fees and faster.. lets just wait and see

I think they're just starting to experiment it just yet.
I believe that even other companies, although it isn't a payment system, like Steam and Microsoft used to allow Bitcoin payments before but then stopped it.
My local online crypto wallet, namely Coins.ph, used to only allow Bitcoin holding but then included ETH, XRP, BCH after couple of years.

Paypal has just started mining its services by adopting Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and BitcoinCash, in the future they may add some cryptocurrencies to their platform. Money transfer fee that Paypal collects from 1.5% -3.5%. For cryptocurrencies, the above fees may also apply.
Ripple does not have a large network like Bitcoin.
In the crypto market, Bitcoin has a strong influence on the rest of other cryptocurrencies, so Paypal will always prioritize Bitcoin when listing any cryptocurrency.

For quicker exchanges, XRP is a superior decision contrasted with BTC however I additionally have no clue about why the Paypal group has favored BTC over XRP. Perhaps the prominence of BTC has influenced while the group settles on this choice. It is bizarre to see the low effect on crypto markets, the XRP acknowledgment will develop if PayPal going to acknowledge the XRP as installment technique as well.

Business wise they will choose the currency who has the widest reach and already can be exchanged to FIAT. In most countries, BTC is already convertible to FIAT unlike XRP. There are so called BTC ATMs as well that goes to show how wide BTC reach is. There are more companies accepting BTC as well than XRP. So these goes in favor to BTC so why would they choose XRP over BTC.

That's actually the main reason why they chose btc, the scope of coverage of btc. A lot of local exchanges or remittances are already accepting btc, so why use the popular among cryptocurrencies? XRP may have the advantage of cheap tx fee but the popularity of usage is not comparable with btc at the moment. But I feel that later on, PayPal will also add XRP.

Paypal is adding Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash aside from Bitcoin. Ethereum, Litecoin, and Ripple could have been a better list.
I dare add my opinion on the upcoming list of crypto PayPal is proposing for the future and looking at it I'm not at all surprised.

The one things that stands out is that clearly they're going for decentralized coins so perhaps there's a clue why XML wasn't one of the choices.

It is all about trying to get on the train of cryptocurrencies, and not being left behind.
This is all a global shift towards decentralised, digital currencies.

Data suggests that among the Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank, or People’s Bank of China, now Paypal "a survey by the Bank for International Settlements found that 1 in 10 central banks, representing about one-fifth of the world’s population, expects to issue its own digital currencies within the next three years." Please don't crucify me. Some hours ago PayPal payment system made some good decision of incorporating into their system buy and sell of Bitcoin, this has made it price to move from it former state. Basically ripple would have be the best for them IMO, seeing that ripple is the future of cryptocurrency irrespective of it centralization. As a ripple holder from inception, I did want Paypal to reconsider the use of ripple as it stand at the frontier of this era of digital currency. Hope this message get to PayPal team for appropriate actions.

That's because it's not a real cryptocurrency just a coin trying to be a Cryptocurrency very much centralized and Paypal wants to introduce to their network a real Cryptocurrency, I'm sure PayPal will add more coins like Ripple because it is on the top 10 and if many are going to request it, Paypal might add it, so since you are shilling Ripple why not take the first step by sending request to PayPal.

I find that they accept Bitcoin with high transaction volume, decentralization, and worldwide popularity. Ripple has lower transaction volume, few places accept payments in Ripple.
Paypal adds Bitcoin to its payment system in search of profits so they will choose a cryptocurrency with a larger transaction volume.

It makes sense if Paypal uses XRP as the XRP team had claimed many times they are going to be used by banks which PayPal is also related to banks so why not. But then XRP isn't what everybody wants though but maybe in the coming days, they will try to accept more altcoins. Or they have another plan and so Paypal didn't choose XRP because XRP is already centralized. What Paypal need is BTC so they can turn it centralized.

PayPal initially accept four cryptocurrencies and hope they will accept more in the future. For initial support, we have to be positive and keep supporting them. They will check the growth first then they will add more currencies shortly that I believe. This is just a starting, more will come soon.

It depends on them of what they use or promote coin because that is their company not mine and even not yours.
Maybe they have valid reasons why they choose bitcoin because it's popular and once they use it or added to their system it will become more famous their companu also and for sure they research about the possible result because it's a big company .

XRP was a scam coin. It's a crap security coin that is still in the legal battle with some investors and  PayPal will never accept or decide to choose the coin which has been making a lot of controversies.
Can you expect a security coin with the biggest premined coin in the world to be accepted by paypal? it will never happen but otherwise, if the investors will be winning the legal battle and it could be a disaster for ripple.

If ripple was used by paypal first, I don't think the impact would be as big as they announced that bitcoin could be used on the platform, but I'm sure that later ripple will also enter.

Why not bitcoin? besides we all know what is currently going on with xrp(ripple) they are facing a lot of problems with laws like some are being arrested
while bitcoin, on the other hand, received a lot of praise in the community and huge people and companies, if I put myself in PayPal's position, I will choose bitcoin 100%, at the end of the day it's nothing personal its just business, who wants to put your company in a bad position, or got mixed up with other issues?

The well known 3rd party company such as PayPal is better to using Bitcoin of course because bitcoin is the most well known cryptocurrency as well. If the company using XRP, i don't think people will follow to using XRP too. Bitcoin is already trusted by most people in crypto sphere,
and even the common people know about bitcoin.

Why does it make sense that Ripple should be preferred over Bitcoin? Paypal is a payment network in itself. They really don't need the so called centralized "Ripple Network" for enabling transactions. What they wanted was to allow its customers to have direct access to cryptocurrencies. Paypal is in the business of transferring "value" between merchants and buyers. The obvious choice is bitcoin because it is sound money. Ripple is just some business idea .

I think Xrp aren't just lucky when it comes to adoption probably they aren't as Decentralized as they claimed. Bitcoin is so decentralized without any team.
Xrp was alleged with releasing and selling of $50m Xrp in the past from Xrp fund without the consent of the community. PayPal wouldn't like to associate their self to that kind of community. Bitcoin has just little supply dominating about 67% of market cap and highest trading volume, it's a good start with BTC. In the future, they might adopt others as time goes on.
