234 people have died in French terror attacks in last 18 months – more than in the previous 100 years
FRANCE was last night the victim of yet another terror attack, bringing the grim death toll to 234 – and counting.
A maniac – thought to be Isis-related – deliberately drove a lorry into a crowd of people celebrating Bastille Day, killing 84 and leaving at least 50 others in a critical condition.
The driver, identified as 31-year-old Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, was shot dead by police at the scene.
It was the fifth attack carried out by terrorists on French soil in less than two years.
