You should be thankful if they tell you that they always lose instead of thinking that they are stupid. If you take the positive point of view, their story is like a reminder for you to not do the same as what they did.

Frankly speaking, I will not care about where they get the money. It is their own right to do so but if you know them as a friend, it is better if you can advice them better thing. Why do they repeat? There is only one answer, because they are still hoping to win big later but they do not realize that they are jumping into deep addiction.

Change the game will not give any difference, gambling is all about luck. We are here focusing on slot players, I doubt slot players has good knowledge about sports. That's why they prefer to play pure luck based game such as slot. If they have great knowledge about sports, they will not play slots that much.

Totally, people keep gambling becausse they're hooked on the hope of a big win, especially with those flashy slots making even small wins feel huge (don't tell me those animations and sounds don't make you feel like you are winning something or are going to win something big...). They fall for the gambler's fallacy, thinking a win must be coming after a bunch of losses, but that's not how luck works. Plus, hearing about others big wins keeps that dream of getting rich overnight alive. It's not just about the money; it's the adrenaline rush, which can be super addictive. We have to remember, each game's a fresh roll of the dice and is not related to your previous win/loss nor can you beat the house in the long run.

This is the key. Not only when they lose do they continue to play more than they should, but when they win as well. I've seen it a lot, especially with slots. If you win a big win what you have to do is walk away and enjoy the money but there are people who win it and continue to gamble as if they are going to win another one and another one and solve their life and all they do is make it worse.

In my opinion, Don't be too addicted to gambling and just have fun when you have free time, so don't spend a lot of money on deposits especially if your financial condition is unstable.

Unfortunately, we can't  prevent them from  giving up especially when they have already won several times. The most reasonable reason people always gamble even though they always lose is because if they fail to win on the first, second and third tries, they think they will succeed on the next try then become more curious about the big win and become more ambitious to continue winning.

There are many reasons why people always gamble even though they lose. Some people are curious about why they never win. Some get entertainment from playing various gambling games. Maybe those young people get money from their parents. Every week or month, their parents always give them money to buy their necessities. Borrowing money might be a step of someone who doesn't have money but wants to gamble. With the hope that the money borrowed will return and will be beneficial for him who borrowed him. Gambling is full of fun, and the fact that you actually have to win some money from it makes it intriguing because you will definitely want to keep trying your luck and make sure you win, but if you don't win, you will not still have issues with yourself as long as you only gamble with the money that was supposed to be used to catch the fun.

For most people who don't gamble, they actually have something that gives them fun; it could be drinking, smoking, drugs, clubbing, or womanizing, and there's no way you can have any of those things I've mentioned without spending some money. If you still spend more money than you are supposed to, you will definitely get affected, just like a gambler will be affected if they stupidly gamble off the amount that they never planned to.

Money buys people pleasure and fun, and as long as you are spending wisely in order to have that fun, you will not feel bad for how you are spending the money, but if you spend the money unwisely in the process of having fun, you will regret having the fun.

Some people gamble for fun and the winning too, while some people only gamble for the winning, and they are the people who should likely not go back to gambling when they keep losing. For someone who is at the casino to have fun and also expect some winning, it's not bad at all to gamble even while you are losing.


Gambling is what it is, there is no game that is very guarantee of giving you more wining than losese. As long as you are enjoying the game and you are also wise enough to gamble responsibly without staking more that you can handle, then it's fine.

There are some people who are just gambling not because of money, some could be gambling because they have a lot of extra time and don't know what to do, so they decided to gamble.
Another reason could be thinking that their next gamble will be able to win, but lose then repeat again.

It's the same reason why people fall for scams despite the repeated attempts of people that they're, well, scams. it's because people want money. Well that's kind of a really generalized view of it, but in general that's how most people feel with gambling. The minority probably enjoy gambling or the process itself, together with the result whatever it may be.

All in all I don't think it's a problem for people to keep playing even if they lose really, even if the end goal was money. It only ever becomes a problem if the money you lose starts affecting you financially, to the point where your basic needs are compromised. In your case they don't have a job, then yea, they have to look back with how their lives are doing first.

Betting gives us the positive feeling of doing something good for the future. We create the expectation of changing our lives with the hope of making a lot of money.
Even though it is much more likely to lose than to win, we are driven by hope, and we always create the expectation that one day luck will come. Even though we lose, we all intend to wake up every day with some kind of confidence that the next day will be better, right? The big question is: we are driven by optimism and this makes us bet. The emotional always takes precedence over rationality.

Your friends are not betting because they lose a lot of money, they are betting because of the possibility of one day winning a lot of money to compensate for their losses and still make a profit.

The question is: Will they stop playing once they achieve this? I doubt it!

One of the reasons could be addiction, and a lot of em’ gamblers are faced with this problem another reason is fun or as a means to while away their time or escape the harsh realities that they are facing. But that of your friend might be a case of gambling addiction, try to sit with him and discuss with him to see if he has signs of addiction or not.
