There are a variety of reasons. It could be just people don't know and haven't tried so not to believe. or anyone ever tried to follow but it turns out that the ICO scam because it used to be an awful lot of ICO scam than the original.

Maybe they became too skeptical after so much scam
Yes, I have faith in ico. After the scam falls and the token value losses after ico. I am fortunate to realize that tokens also have a huge impact from market fluctuations. In other words, incremental bitcoin and crypto would be like strings attached to the majority ico pulling its value if you have enough patience and watch the market go through. Now, I believe in those ico bounty programs that have good and reputable bounty managers. Scam is almost eliminated and the opportunity to succeed with big profits.

I just don't get why people aren't trying to push good projects more than they are trying to shoot down everything
ICOs looks like startups in 2000-2005 every projects want light money. They haven't  any development but have good promotion and still nothing.

In reality, a lot of people wants to invest in ICO. Why? Because ICO is more profitable than bounties. But why they don't want to invest? Simply, because the developers of ICO are just communicating investors in the token sale but afterwards, they will gone instantly. Investor usually hang up in an ICO.

The word "scam" has practically become synonymous with the abbreviation ICO, meaning croweding of projects through the release of its own crypto currency. The format itself is not to blame for this, and there are enough decent and really worthy projects among the ICO. But the novelty of the topic, the heat of easy money and the almost complete lack of regulations turned this market into the Wild West, where no one is insured against fraud, neither by crypto-investors, nor by the ICO itself.

Most of the ICO are good and only few of them are considered scam,They are the one initiate the project,They have full knowledge about the project that's why investors are really depend on them.
Several ways of checking the credibility of ICO or the knowing the project itself, I suggest to join in their telegram first before joining the project.

There is some people don't believe in ICO's projects because they have bad experiences in their past, or because they see many scam projects online, or heard about bad stories about such projects. But I think many other people still having faith in ICO projects because the number of investors in this projects keep rising with time.
of course in the past  we had bad experience many times. All of us remember BitConnect. Sad  And now we can see that less investors trust altcoins.

People have no faith in ICO's becuase some projects don't have a clear goal. There are also reports of fraud and they don't pay in a signature campaign that is why advertising is very minimal.

My fingers are itvhing for this one!  Grin

Let me give you some ideas:

- Because it's not normal that you give complete strangers 100's to 1000's of dollars in advance for some mediocre idea that might work out in a scene which is completely filled with mediocre ideas of which none actually are used in any way in real life but some went to the moon in pricing/valuation.
- Because people don't tend to be the most productive when they launched an idea, just got 15 million for that idea before they needed to achieve anything.
- Because investing in ICO's is not regulated (today, THAT might change tomorrow actually).  Nobody needs to be transparant about nothing.  You even have ico-generators.
- Because these days ICO-builders don't even speak English, just build a website, get some bounty army ready for them and start earning.
- Because this whole circus will end soon...

(and before you get some crazy ideas about me being frustrated on missing the boat: I made some good money on ICO's, I just think that the momentum has passed.)

Because for people most often new is not clear. And they are accustomed to work at the plant and receive ordinary paper money.

and it seems to me that the market is now being formed and stuffing mistakes, the players become experienced on the mistakes! so there is trust, but many teams are not professionals in this sector!

i think that it is becoming harder and harder to have a faith in ICOs every day. and it is very logical, because there were and there are so many scam projects, that just fool investors.. and there are so many projects that don't meet people's expectations.. so i am not blaming anyone for being devastated in ico. i am almost one of these people....

Trust - may not be fully limited for ICO projects, but there are some people who complain because of the very low price when entering the market.

there are too many scams now and most projects are just air, its nothing strange that most of them have a truely bad performance after hitting exchanges, why should we give our money to them?
Unfortunately it's true. People do not believe in projects, because so many projects want only one thing - to get your money, and that's all they need.

Because there were too many ICO's, some were fraud and others ended up being worthless, but ICO is still a thing as real companies use it to fund their product. These are known as ICO's with "security tokens" because such tokens actually worth something, people just need to give it a further research and don't trust at any white paper it is thrown at their face.
For such reason, I believe as ICO get unpopular the requisites to start one are going to increase, and in exchange, it will be quality over quantity, but as mentioned before, alt-coins also still have ICO's as a good mean to advertise, so everything is up to how they are going to face the untrust problem, in order to succeed and launch in the market, such alt-coins actually need to offer something new too.
I hope I didn't get too confused here.  Roll Eyes

Past experience.

Its probably because too many ICOs have already failed to deliver and even some have actually ran away with investors money.
Finding a good ICO is like finding a needle in a haystack.
Exactly. The phrase was well put. Its like finding a needle in a haystack. There are so many poor ICO’s nowadays that its hard for people to do research for all and find the right ICO to invest in. So, people usually invest in the existing projects with good technology rather than getting into an ICO that might prove scam. Research is at most necessary before investing in and ICO.

There were also incidents when bitconnect shut down its website and ran with the investors money. Such incidences have made people aware of ICO scams and have made them to invest in existing crypto currencies rather than taking risks in new projects.

Well, existing cryptocurrencies, it is also not an option, some are not even supported by developers but are still traded. The presence of any coin on the market does not indicate its success
