Gambling is all about fun, but very few have the mind to consider gambling as a form of entertainment. Even the person who has a good understanding of gambling loses control and ends up losing. This is all about the temptation and the money involved in gambling. Just in case, if there is no money involved in gambling, then no one will prioritize it. The small winnings give him hope of winning big, and the same makes him an active gambler. This, in the long run, turns into an addiction and makes the person spend more and more. In other words, people just try it, and the win makes them go for big, whereas the loss creates a mindset of recovering the loss and ending the gambling. This is a never-ending process.

I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop. So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.
Ask your friends what their purpose is in gambling. If your friend is gambling to make the money he wants, then he should be aware that he will lose money. If your friend gambles for fun, then losing money due to losses is normal for him without having to complain about why he can't win a lot.

From the beginning of the story, I know that your friend is a gambling addict who continues to chase his luck to win money. Gambling is not made that way so his mindset must be changed so that he can ultimately become a responsible gambler. Don't chase the money and the wins, but get pleasure from it despite the wins and losses.

Maybe he still has high expectations of making profit through gambling, even though the scenario hasn't been looking favourable for him so far. It's possible he watches another gamblers playing and making profit, what makes him believe it's just a matter of time and effort until he also sees profit coming into his pockets. At same time, it's also possible he doesn't took into consideration the impacts of house edge factor, which is decisive on long run. I suppose he isn't aware about it, or didn't take that information seriously.

So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.
Well, if he is playing with money he can afford to lose, I would say him to just continue gambling like that, and there won't be any issues on long run. However, if he is gambling avid for profits, as it was going to be a life changer, I would say him to change his mindset immediately and to understand how gambling really works and what he can realistically expect from it along the time. If his priorities in life are to thrive and grow financially, I would say he is taking the wrong steps towards that objective.

Gambling is greedy by depositing money even after losing money. Because gamblers think that after gambling they will win again next time. Because of this, many bet according to n*2. like 1st bet $2 2nd bet $4 3rd bet $8 until they win. In this case, if you win once, all previous losses will be recovered. this is how gamblers become highly addicted to gambling and continue to bet heavily even after losing. such activity can make a gambler go crazy and loss everything by gambling
nice explain I watched a gambling related movie where an influencer gets addicted to gambling and wins a lot using such tactics but later loses everything and ends up selling his own house to gamble. and he gambled away the money from the sale of his house and finally committed suicide. Gambling addiction can lead to suicide, so no matter what strategy you use, you should also consider the negative aspects of gambling. so gambling should be use in limited time

That is actually called the CYLCE OF GAMBLING.

To explain it fully, when a person either wins or losses in a gambling match, there are two (2) tendencies and situations that may happen. Either he wins and he bets again to try again his luck; OR if he lost, he tries again to recover the said losses from that match..... and the cycle continues.

Persons who gamble will most likely be inclined to gamble again if they are stuck in that cycle. In order to at least break this cycle, it is important to know one's limits. This includes the money allocated to their gambling expenses and the threshold amount they have set before they fully commit in gambling.

If a person fails to have an allocated budget in gambling and/or have a threshold amount of the maximum wins/losses they incur, then they may experience this cycle of gambling where they would most likely bet and bet again in the process.

I'd tell him to keep his expectations low and accept the losses because returning once more to place more bets will always favor the casinos. Your friend will eventually win something, but it might not be enough to satisfy him. Instead of aiming for that big win, it's better to tone it down before it's too late and becomes a bigger problem. If he's struggling to stop his gambling addiction, he needs to look for another hobby that can reduce his gambling time, as that's what I did when I got hooked on casino games back then.
They day his friend eventually wins big I think that is the day that he will want to bet again in the hopes of doubling his win and when he losses he will still bet again in the hope of recovering the loss which then becomes chasing losses. Both are the very things that every gambling must strive to avoid. We should be contented with our win and neither wish for a big win or try to make a hustle out of it.

Eventually we all will win big but it happens by luck and maybe once or twice. The small wins is enough to keep us in check but the big wins can trigger the uncontrollable beast of addiction that will take a long time to fight off.

While I think your friend is stressing himself over nothing, I am even more concerned with your advice to your friend. Recommending "constant betting" to someone who is already losing it due to his inability to win big amounts is very risky. People place bets and lose everything, many are even craving for just a win to put smiles on their faces, no matter the amount involved. Your friend needs a different kind of orientation and I just wish he is seeing all these advice and recommendations here. Telling your friend that constant gambling is a solution will only trigger him to put in more effort because to him, he might be just one step away from winning.

Advice your friend to take it easy with his quest to win big amounts else he will be losing more money than he will be getting from gambling.  Addiction doesn't hit immediately, it creeps in slowly until the victim can no longer let go. He needs a break from his obsession before it ruins him. Big wins will come when he least expects it.

While he keeps gambling even after losing, it is because he has the hope of also winning a huge amount in the future. Gambling is a game of luck and for those that are non-seasonal gamblers, they are more frequent in gambling and believes in the luck of the game and as long as they enjoy what they are doing, they will keep gambling till any days luck runs on their side. As gamblers, we lose all the time, and as a matter of fact, the amount of losses is usually higher than the amount that is being won. If everyone makes the decision not to gamble again because they don't always win, then there will be fewer gamblers in the space. At least your friend always gets lucky to win some of the time.

I wouldn't say the same thing. I doubt that with constant betting we can actually win big someday.
If it were so then everybody would be betting these days in the hope of winning big some or the other day.
Since we already know its just pure luck, we shouldn't pay more focus into it and just casually bet withing our budget.
May be luck shines some day then we can win big otherwise we wouldn't need to stress so much anyway.

What I can say is the following, if your friend has not been able to have good Results in the game , it is because he has to change the way he plays , his Strategies, his way of betting, so he should do everything differently now, because he cannot continue like this anymore which becomes a constant outflow of money and that can be very difficult, so given these things it can be intuited that when we are thinking about making money we have to be thoughtful about what we are going to spend if the person is willing to spend a lot of money and your life will not get out of control, well welcome, spend money, but if not and feel that things will go in the right direction without you Being left with nothing and covering everything well.

You did the right thing by telling him that it was a game of risk and luck it's up to him to accept that, compared to other gamblers who are losing a lot of money, he is still good he is still winning just Keep reminding him that he should not force himself to win by betting more than what he can afford to lose.
Eventually, two things will happen: he will experience losing a lot of money, or he will win big, but the latter is very rare to happen.

I have only got some advice for this your friend and certainly not a winning technique.

I can understand that in this situation your friend has been emotionally down and probably maybe affecting his incomes and savings due to the sake that he was being too eager to win or even win more than expected.
Definitely the will of a gambler while gambling mustn't be fulfilled.

So ask your friend to always solemnly accept his little winning with joy because many gamblers are actually chasing that little winning but could not get it
So, let your friend exempt greediness on his gambling and then his emotions would be fit enough to condone with his gambling outcomes.
He should always try to stake less to the amount he can handle.

I think your friend is chasing loss, but in actual sense he doesn't understand what you meant because if he do, being conversant with profit and loss in gambling is suppose to be the first thing every gambler should know, losing is certain in gambling, every gambler should have that mindset, this will help you to understand that gambling is not a compulsory profit thing, with this knowledge, your friend will know how to follow gambling and he won't attach much importance to it hence he know that the profit is not assured.

People like your friend might end up to be an addicted gamblers for many reasons, his mindset is channelled in making money through gambling despite the loss incurred so far, it doesn't really matter what to your friend, what matters to your Friend is making sure that huge winning comes, with this kind of idea losing will never depart from him, tell him to gamble with care and expect luck to play on his side instead of chasing losses.

the best advice is to tell him to stop gambling. but if he still wants to gamble then allow him to spend more of the money he has to get the win he dreams of.
it would be difficult to get gamblers to provide solutions to other gamblers. Want to get a big win, the gambler must take a bigger risk with a bigger bet. If he bets small, there is indeed a chance of getting a big win, but we will talk about how big the chance is and how lucky your friend is.

For those who become addicted to gambling, it becomes very difficult to quit gambling. So one should not become addicted to gambling. Gambling is good for fun. Since your friend doesn't win much at gambling, you should have advised your friend to quit gambling. But you encouraged him to bet. You should not have acted at all, you should have advised him to quit gambling. Yes gambling depends on luck but what if your friend has bad luck? What if your friend never wins? I would advise your friend that your friend should quit gambling. If your friend can afford to lose money then gamble for fun.

That means he ain't losing? The title is different from your opening story and question.

Anyway, if you are losing, your mind tells you to try and get it back. That's the first reaction of a human because he cannot accept that his money is taken from him just like that. We always want a fight so we fight back and bet more until one will raise the white flag. Sadly, online gambling sites ain't raising any white flag. They have a deep well of money so it is up to the gambler if he want to stop or not.
So what do gamblers do? They keep on betting, win or lose because they want that jackpot just like your friend, or they keep on chasing their losses if ever the gambling site is winning against them.

Your friend is angry because he is gambling to make profit, and not for fun. This is why he was never satisfied with his little wins, and wants to make his dream money that will transform his life, but it is not easy that way. Gambling is more of taking from us than giving us, so he needs to know that for him to decide if he will continue gambling or not.

There are a lot of gamblers that became an addict through what he is doing because they continue chasing their loss until they can no longer control their gambling activities. This is why you need to let your friend know that gamble cannot give him the desired amount he wants to win, but will only take more money from him.

Patience is key
You're a bad friend, Op. Knowing that your friend is developing a destructive passion for gambling, you increasingly encourage him to play even more. Gambling often leads to great disasters. Does your friend have that much free capital that he can just lose? Why don't you play? I will answer that you are afraid of losing everything. So why, instead of saving your friend, do you fuel his excitement for the game?
I'm not a bad friend and if I was a bad friend i wouldn't have ask for an opinion on here, i did this cause I've tried my best of stopping him not to go too far with gambling. So thanks for your opinion.
