I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop. So I'm asking what do you suggest he should do at this case. For me I told him that he should know that gambling it's a game of risk and luck, but with the constant betting you might win the amount you've at mind someday. So what are your suggestions towards this.
I will advise your friend not to take gambling as an investment, where he or she can make millions which are some of the things that is making him or her not to be happy with the little money he or she use to earn from the gambling.

It will be a good thing if your friend can have a budget in his gambling, because crossing the amount of his budget he can quickly apply stop at the moment, either winning or losing which is the best way to stay long in gambling to recover  losses in the future.

Trying to recover your losses, it can make any gamblers to continue loosing money which are part of some of the things causing your friend losing money not to have the ability to apply stop.

I think this is a problem that is experienced by most gamblers where they come with very high expectations and think that they will be able to earn a lot of money just by gambling, and my advice is to try to tell your friend to go back to research and identify what gambling is really about, explain in detail and provide some evidence to him about the downturn experienced by gamblers who try to use gambling as a place to earn.

Explain to him that however and at any time gambling is still gambling where betting activities always refer to two possibilities at the end of the session between winning or losing, victory is a bonus but defeat is a risk that must be faced and this is why a gambler is always advised to always be able to take responsibility for any decision because however defeat will always be a sure thing, so of course it means not to make gambling a place to earn because however the idea will never work and in fact in the end it will even make you experience a lot of downturns, especially in financial terms.

Patience is key
You've already done your job by telling him the risk in gambling, but since he still continue to gamble, then I think it's best if you will just wait until he learn from his mistake. Most of us gamblers doesn't really win, but what differs from happy gamblers to addict is their ability to control their emotion, a responsible gambler knows how much money he can only afford to lose, and he stick with it, while the addicted gambler never stops until he lose everything, even the money that is not intended for gambling.
thanks but i don't think he's going to learn from his mistakes cause he's the kind of person who doesn't care if his wasting money or no. But thanks for your opinion

You're a bad friend, Op. Knowing that your friend is developing a destructive passion for gambling, you increasingly encourage him to play even more. Gambling often leads to great disasters. Does your friend have that much free capital that he can just lose? Why don't you play? I will answer that you are afraid of losing everything. So why, instead of saving your friend, do you fuel his excitement for the game?

Well sounds like your friend had a gambling addiction and the only way to help him is to get him to understand and recognize this.  Why people continue to gamble even after continuous losses is that they are simply hooked and that’s also how they see recouping their losses. So it can’t become a vicious cycle that’s quite unfortunate .

Sometimes addiction could be the reason why some persons cannot take a break or probably get to quit gambling because they are addicted and almost have no control over their actions so it's very possible they are not going to stop provided they have got the money they can spend on gambling they will always have to visit the casino meanwhile some just keep believing if they continue trying they are definitely going to get lucky one day and probably get to recover all they have lost to gambling.

Suggesting, I will say he should try changing his strategy and try improving his statistical knowledge of the games on which he gambling because that's the bases up on which most gambler make their gambling decisions and place their bets then he should aswell get a good risk management plan so he doesn't get bankrupt almost immediately he just gets started.

Some people continue to bet more even as they keep losing in gambling, perhaps because they continue to believe that someday they will win, and as long as they have resources, they can keep gambling. But the big concern there is that you might become addicted and lose control, eventually becoming irresponsible. It's a common trap people fall into with gambling. Casinos are designed to be exciting and keep you playing, even if you're losing. Yeah, it’s possible to win in gambling but it’s also very easy to lose, and the house usually has the advantage.

For how long would your friend bet before he could win the amount he has in my mind someday? Is it when he has lost all his money in gambling, that may lead him to begin to sell his properties with the belief that he's going to win the amount he has in mind someday.

OP, this kind of advice you gave to your friend has led many to poverty. You know why? They took the wrong advice that their friend gave to them and relied on it, without first understanding that anyone pursuing big wins in gambling doesn't end well in gambling because they always gamble with huge money that will affect their finances.

So what are your suggestions towards this.

There are several answers to this question and I’m sure each one of us will come up with an answer that best suits us and it might not work for others. First, why did your friend decide to gamble? Did he do it for fun or so that he could make money? The answer to this question will determine if he’s currently sticking to gambling so that he could gain back what he has lost or because he just want to have fine (and possibly get a little profit).

From the way you explained the Op I guess you friend has been playing slots or other casino games which rely heavily upon luck - if that is the case then I’d advice that he look at sport betting areas and try to see if there are any one he can make correct predictions on - if there is then he should participate in it and try to minimize his losses.

So basically your friend gambles to make money, right? well, if he continues like that over time he will become stressed himself because his expectations do not match the reality. The advice you should give to your friend is that when he gambles he must understand that he can lose at any time and it is quite risky - he should gamble with a better mindset by not fully expecting that when he gambles he will keep winning. If he expects that he will be able to win a good amount every time he gambles, then he will be constantly disappointed.
More precisely, looking for his luck at the gambling table, to fulfill his daily needs. Usually gamblers don't pay attention to what their friends say, their psychology has been disturbed by the losses they experienced at the gambling table, they will continue playing without listening to their friends' advice. Personally, if I give them advice and they don't listen to me, just ignore it, later they will realize that if they lose enough, they won't be able to gamble anymore.

Some persons don't win and they're still gambling as if their lives depend on it. He hasn't won a good amount means atleast he's winning no matter how small it is and one day he's going hit a jackpot. My advice is that he shouldn't get frustrated to the point of placing many bets or spending more time gambling, thinking that it will make it happen faster, it doesn't work that way. Discipline, patience and luck is all he needs.

Few questions for your friend. Is his gambling budget affecting his general financial status? Is he under the influence of gambling that he cannot control his gambling habit? Is he complaining about his losses? Does he see gambling as a major source of income? Or is he gambling for fun? The answers to this question will determine my responses. Notwithstanding, he should know that gambling has an unpredictable outcome, so you have to be prepared for losses and wins. Sometimes you win big while in most cases you lose or win small, our ability to manage these situations is what makes us responsible or mature gamblers. Basically, he shouldn't gamble as a source of income and he should gamble with an insignificant part of his income. Let's also be hopeful because one day, he might hit the jackpot.

Smart is not enough, there must be skills
Then your friend thinks that gambling can make money other than luck? If he thinks like that, it is clear that he has the wrong perception because he wants profit in gambling, unless he gambles just for fun then he will not think about profit and how much money he gets.

When a person is familiar with gambling, it is difficult to stop and continue playing, so he has started addiction, maybe in their minds if they continue to gamble one day they can get a jackpot but this hope is not certain, even only 1% of people get it.

He's already enjoying and he wants to make money too, it's not that he can't stop it's just he doesn't want to stop, gambling already got a hold on your friend, it's just an alibi that he hasn't won a good amount, it's his defence so he can continue to gamble.

Nothing that you can and will say can convince him in fact if you keep advising him he will either stay away from you or ignore you, it depends on how gambling got a hold of you, if it's not yet that deep then you could invite him to other interests, who knows that could make him take a break in gambling.

My advice is not to bet an amount that you are not ready to lose, because in gambling when you are ready to bet you are also ready to lose 100%. So if you keep trying to chase victory, it will make you lose even more from what you have targeted. Create a gambling management for yourself, limit your bets every day/week so you will know from the time span of playing how much you managed to win and what percentage you have spent.

Also, to be honest, we should only bet with the amount we can afford, can afford to lose. because there are gamblers who take big risky actions, such as risking large amounts of money that are not normal, causing them to experience quite serious problems when they experience defeat or lose the money they bet. that's why it's important for us to allocate an amount of money that we can afford, and with those who dare to risk a larger amount of money than usual, I think they are frustrated with this situation, they are desperate, so they risk all the money they have in the hope of being able to A miracle occurred that could make them win.

It is also not recommended to gamble continuously,  such as when you have experienced a loss, and we are still continuing to gamble because we want to get a win that can cover the loss, it is not recommended because there is no guarantee that we can get a win when we put money back in after experiencing a loss. in gambling. Having limits in gambling is important, to be able to avoid big losses, but it has to be done, because avoiding losses is impossible.

You can advise him not to gamble anymore, especially since he hasn't won a lot of money. Gambling games can provide a lot and vice versa. He must realize that he doesn't need to gamble to earn a lot of money.

He could not hope to win much money from gambling. Many people have tried it, but not many of them have been able to win a lot of money. They have even lost a lot of money but they don't realize it.

There is no point in continuing to gamble if their goal is to win a lot of money. They should look for money from other places or work so they can make money. Playing gambling is just to have fun and not to win a lot of money.

It means your friend is dumb.

If he didn't make money from gambling, he should realize if gambling only make him lose and he should stop if he's looking to make money instead of complaining. He need to get a job if he want to make money, that's the easiest way.

You say warn him to stop gambling, if he can't stop, it's better if you take a step ahead and cut off him.
Unfortunately, not many people listen to our advice when they are addicted, so whatever they have in mind, they always try again so that the capital they use can come back again, especially when our losses are only a small difference, for example we guess the number 69 but the winners are the numbers 70 and 68. so it will make us curious to continue experimenting again.

If we already know someone like that then we should try to leave him slowly because if he gives advice it will be useless and only make us tired.

I've a friend of mine who always complain that ever since he started gambling he haven't won a good amount, instead he'll be winning less money than what he expected but he can't stop.

He should know that a little drop of water can make an ocean, what matters is the consistency and the drive he has. If you have won a little in the past then it means you can win big later if you have the right process. So playing with the strategy that made you win in the first place that you regard as small will also make you win big, that is how gambling is but if you keep changing strategy because you have the notion of winning big then you can miss it. To aim for big win is not wrong but the mode of achieving it should be sustained.
