Greed is a basic human characteristic and there is nothing that you can do about it. Everyone in this world is greedy, although the "level" of greed can vary from person to person. Are you going to deny, if I claim that you first invested in Bitcoins because you are greedy? Or can you refute me, if I tell you that you joined this forum only because you were greedy? I would say that being greedy is not a very bad thing. In the modern world, if you have money, then you can purchase 99.99% of the things. And for the remaining 0.01%, replacements or alternatives are available that can be purchased with wealth. So being greedy can also be a trait of successful people. If you are not greedy, then I don't think that you can be successful in life.
Being unaware over things that are happening in crypto society is also the reason, we must be attentive over projects and transactions we are doing. Be mindful in websites we visit it might be a phishing site, in forms we put our details and every transactions double check it's credibility. Technology and cryptocurrency are eyed by many scammers now so be aware of your surroundings.

indeed we cannot avoid the greed that everyone has (including me).
it doesn't matter if we are a little greedy, but as you said, the Due Diligence of the project and team before making a decision and that will reduce the losses we might receive.
Scamers have been around for a long time and still exist today and someone can easily get scammed in this industry because they are careless in putting their money into projects. but I often observe that someone often puts their money in because they are attracted by the lure of large investments or large investment returns when in fact such a project is a project manipulation.
It is hard to tell if a project is a scam or not nowadays because even the intelligent people are become a victim that no matter how vigilant you are before joining but still the project turn out to be a scam. So i think that we need more strong regulation to ensure that these scams will not be able to penetrate the market.

if we can be careful of course scam projects can be avoided,
but after IEO, we can more easily recognize scam projects and not. this is very helpful.
Ive been scammed before, but I see to it that it is the last time I will be scam, so I learned all the ways how to avoid it.Actually its quite easy, dont ever believe those people who are persuading you about investment especially those giving a huge return or profit. Like those too good to be true income, it is one criteria for scam activity and if you fall for it, that's the end youre money gone.

In my own personal opinion, people get scammed because they are lacking of knowledge when it comes to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology that they don't really know how investing in cryptocurrency works, that is why they can be easily be trick and they are easily get attracted by scam projects and other scam sites. Having knowledge about crypto is really important for you not to get easily trick by false news, scam projects and sites.

Crypto is a complicated tech. People have few knowledge about crypto. Traders think that crypto is just like trading in stock. People who easily get scammed are those who didn't learn from their experiences. Let's admit that most of us here got scammed but that should bring us a lesson to get rid of too much promises. If a certain project is too flowery with their promises and offering rewards which are too good to be true, then we must do a series of research before trusting it. Scammers will do everything to attract people to have more victims so we must always be aware of their strategies.
People necessarily don't take out time to make any research and after falling for q cheap scam, they cry out. Some persons are still investing in cloud mining with a very high returns at this current state of the market. And such investors say nothing last forever, that even bitcoin will soon be replaced by another coin. How gullible they their thinking is.

If you learn and observe, most ICO projects are not successful! So scam will not be hard! It's now switched to IEO, but not much better, if the projects are supported by the big Exchange can be good, the rest will not succeed!
