yes, I agree with your opinion, that's how it is and also many of them think that altcoins are because there are many price options, namely some are cheap and some are expensive, but in my opinion most people choose to invest in altcoins because they see good ups and downs. So it's no wonder that many people invest in short-term altcoins.

In short they want a good profit from it. I myself also like gaining profit from altcoin and it is my number one reason why I have few altcoins in my portfolio. The profit you can gain is depending on the altcoin you choose and profit wise, You can earn more on altcoin at the same time the risk is much higher compared to bitcoin. I don't think anyone can par into bitcoin when it comes to the market trust but there are some coins that are really doing good and made their investors have some massive profits. There's a little to no chance someone will buy a coin that can't produce a profit, Lets be honest.

We are all here for profits and this is a reality on which we do really face on on which we are striving and trying our best to make money.We do see that Bitcoin is worth for holding for long term but we arent that

all does have the level of patience if we do speak about holding and this is why some people do really tend to get engage with altcoins not only that they do make out some huge pump but
also due to their prices arent really that too expensive plus the probability on making profits in percentage manner is huge.

This is why some people do consider out on investing or adding up altcoins into their portfolio.

if there's massive fluctuation then there's certainly someone that gonna take advantage of it and gets the benefits.
altcoin is quite fluctuative in terms of value therefore there's definitely always someone that trying to flip their money and make some tremendous returns regardless of the fact that there's safer investment solution but also less returns.
it's just that usual principle of high risk high rewards, there's nothing more than that honestly.

Altcoin investment is mostly due to the high volatility that is possible and the fact that one could purchase substantial amounts with little amount. That will not be possible with Bitcoin as the amount is already on the high side and it would be difficult to afford buying substantial amount as the value is way higher than most altcoin.

Altcoins are high risk and high reward. Altcoins are more volatile, and investing in altcoins can yield higher returns than Bitcoin in the short term. Sometimes it is more profitable to invest in it.

No altcoin can replace the top spot of bitcoin, if you want to be safe, then obviously, bitcoin is a perfect choice. But in terms of profit, altcoins are likely to give higher returns than bitcoin, ETH is the biggest altcoin, it can't compete with bitcoin in terms of position, but its return is bigger than bitcoin. During the 2021 bull season, if anyone has invested in ETH, it will give a higher ROI than BTC and in the next bull season, I am pretty sure that ETH will continue to yield higher returns than BTC.

Sure, it never guarantees how long the project to survive. That's why people prefer to choose Bitcoin as their main asset for long-term investment. But people also diversify their assets to optimize the chance of getting bigger profits. So, they also choose top altcoins for long-term investment.

Actually, the reason is very clear. People want to make money quickly and easily. That's why they turn to altcoins and often shitcoins. I must admit that sometimes I act with such thoughts and turn to some altcoins. However, at the end of the day, I don't waste much time going back to cash or Bitcoin because I know that if I stay in altcoins too much, I'll turn into a pumpkin. Even me that I am an old Bitcoin hodler I think that it has potential in for a longer term like 5-7 years max in my opinion while other coins,especially new ones like EthereumPoW,EthereumFair,Zilliqa,Raptoreum and a couple of others have a much better potential to grow in price in a lower time-frame than 5-7 years which is a lot.That is why a lot of people are attracted to altcoins as they think to make a huge amount of money with very little one,this happens very rarely and as the best example I want to point out that guy that bought a lot of Shiba INU in August 2020 and when in 2021 this coin reach a much better price he won an insane amount of money,of course people like him can be counted with just the fingers of one hand.

They are interested to invest in altcoins because of the possibility to get big profit just like you said, although if you wait patient enough you could get the same result with Bitcoin but in longer span of time.
Either they have done the research or not is different story but most of the people I know are looking for profit only. But when the price is down, then they start blaming on everything.

altcoin is an alternative coin besides btc and eth which already has a relatively high purchase value for beginners,
the main reason owning/buying altcoins can provide quick profits because of the hype or fomo, but to get it you need research so that you get a potential coin for the long term, if for the short term just buy a meme selling coin while fomo can provide maximum profit in my opinion
