Most people want altcoins for a chance for profit when they missed the bullrun before and didn't want to wait for another that's why they want to find another altcoins where they can earn profit when there are other things that they can do to earn profit.

One of the reasons as you mentioned, the high pump, but it's certain coins that haven't received attention from investors, the goal is to attract investors in these coins to come and invest. But another reason is small capital. If our capital is small, then investing in Bitcoin, the amount of Bitcoin we hold is very small, and this looks less attractive to us. I think one of the main points is that they believe they can somehow contribute to the conversation. I cannot really change anything about bitcoin itself, nor about ethereum or bnb or ada or avax or matic whatever. But if I can find something small, something that is just starting out or even haven't been released yet, then I could be in their chat and talking about what type of direction it should take, and maybe I won't be cared and they will do whatever they want to do but at least I would have some sort of understanding about it.

This is why I believe that we should be focusing a bit more towards the control part of it, and why people like to feel so important and why that matters for altcoin world.

it's the same case with low market capitalization stocks it's all fluctuation that makes majority interested and also the fact that new alts haven't yet reached its peak potential or even there's still many potential left is the thing that attracts many to invests.
even if there's also bigger chance of just losing since alts that succeed will definitely amounts lesser to those that failed but regardless they still consider it chance of generating good returns.

I think people can easily make profits quickly with altcoins that Bitcoin because there are some altcoins project that always do pump and dump allowing the smart traders to make some profits from market volatility. The volatility is where investors and traders make profits from the market.

There some altcoins that have huge liquidity in the market and they do have the tendency to increase in price at anytime especially when the price of Bitcoin goes bullish. Bitcoin is still the major coin we have that controls all other coins in the market and when the price is down every other coins will.go down.

That's exactly the reason why people are putting their money in alts, especially those that are not in top 50 coins and they're hoping for that specific coin will have an unprecedented hype and pump.
