The same reason why people gamble knowing fully well that gambling is a win for the casino and never the player.

The human nature to have greed run their function is common and this is why gambling industry works and also why rugpulls and shitcoins run well. I not implying that every altcoin is a scam, but most of the newly launched ones are going to be such in a couple of years or less.

Making money from altcoin and making money from bitcoin, I would always go with the second one because that carries less anxiety and less loss of sleep. As a trader you need to limit the pressure you put on yourself to stay healthy and trade.

Well those who buy altcoin at first because it's easily 10x in just a few months compared to Bitcoin which can't do 10x easily due to its big market cap. To be honest my reason is the same as you but I don't invest in just a mere project just because they offer me a big ROI, we should keep doing some research before we invest in an altcoin project. Right now many potential altcoins can pump 100x in the next bull run because their low marketcap and it's easier to do the pumping.

Well, the truth is that there is huge money in altcoins, not to mention any projects but certainly there is.
If we can track these altcoins' performance during the bull season, we can really imagine that investing gonna make you rich instantly if you are too lucky. But yes, altcoins are too risky to put money into, especially for new projects. People are here for such wonderful happenings in the market during Bullrun. Many people invest in altcoins because it also offers good profits and can be profitable in the short term. Especially new altcoin projects, they all have low initial prices and can be invested cheaply to earn returns.

Yes, it's true, Altcoins can also be risky, but what makes that risk is if we hold the wrong altcoins or are often called trash Altcoins.
What causes many people to be interested in Altcoins is because holding Altcoins can give someone multiple benefits, by having little capital you can invest in Altcoins. that's why myself and most other people are interested in holding Altcoins and saving them until they can make a real profit.

and the coin is indeed an altcoin that is worth investing in. however most people usually make them want to buy low quality altcoins out of greed, out of a desire to get rich quick, and tempted by, high pumps. but when we lose, we regret buying low quality altcoins.

What's great about altcoin is that it has a very high return if it goes on a bullrun because the price is low compared to bitcoin, and that bullrun can happen overnight. Though the risk is higher because it can lose value in just one night, there are instances when an altcoin will die, which is why we need to monitor it from time to time. Though those top altcoins are good, most of those altcoin investors and traders are mostly using those as the pairs they are using.

I don't even have to go further than this. This is the reason why people buy altcoins. You can only get high rewards by accepting high risk. Higher the risk, higher the possible rewards. There's obviously also higher risk to get rekt with them but that goes without saying.

People investing in small caps and mid caps also see that there must be a top when it comes to future marketcap of bitcoin.
It just can't keep up growing and growing. That wouldn't make any sense. They see more room with altcoins to grow. That's why many of them like to use terms like ETH killer, to point out how much they can still rise. And it's way more possible to find another 1000x altcoin then except that bitcoin would rise another 1000x any time soon.

I guess it's just way of diversifying investments all the while also increasing the potential rewards it could get after all altcoins always offer tremendous returns than the other coin in the same period of investing.
the thing is, some people get carried away with the huge returns that they get from some random alts and even shitcoins that they starting betting on it instead of investing and that causes them to go bankrupt, never do such mistake.

it's easier with alts in getting more profits mainly because the nature of alts that is quite volatile in terms of value which many could take advantage of this nature and easily increase their capital really fast that it outpaced some mainstream investments like bitcoin and ethereum. alts in general always gives high return but also could incur massive loss. even like that, some people think that the returns it could made always outweigh the risk of losing investments usually.

^It seems like they gamble their money investing in altcoin, probably they are already aware of this, a short-term investment is very risky if you don't have a regular update on it. Some others just because of the hype they will also invest in altcoins so possible some hype altcoins will gain profit but on for a limited time. There should not be a certain time when it comes to investment that gives a guarantee, it matters always a risk. If you can handle this risk, then you are good to go in investing in altcoins.

It's because people prefer to gamble with cryptocurrency and play games of chance. Because we have no idea what would happen when we purchase an altcoin, I indicated it was a gamble. Sometimes we notice a few of altcoin pumps, which makes us greedy. People exploit that volatile because of this. Since I've learned from my mistakes, I don't want to bet using altcoin. I suffered greatly from alts, and I also lost interest in them. Everybody has a unique mindset whether it comes to holding or trading. Not all investors and traders will be same.

Greed. Simple as that it is the get Rick quick scheme of the century. Problem is very few do and most lose all the money they put in. People missed out on bitcoin and think if they get in early on something else they can hit what early bitcoiners hit. Others just use them as trade toys to get more bitcoin. Amd then lastly...gambling. people like the rush.
