With so many people becoming a millionaire after investing in memecoins, it's logical that there are people wanting to follow what has been achieved in the past. And all they do is just wait for the bull market. They didn't even expect to get that much but because of the hype and memecoins added to big exchanges, many will really believe it could also happen to them. You could say it's not just BTC that will make people richer with just 1k of investment. All it needs is the right timing.

As long as we can choose the right altcoin I think it will be profitable,
but somehow it's not that easy to choose the right altcoin because it takes research which takes a lot of time,

Because even we think that the majority of the altcoins are worthless and of no use in the market but some of them have been found to become potentially profitable and sometimes it was even more profitable than Bitcoin.
x1000, x10,000 - this all can possibly happen in altcoin if you are too lucky but we also have to keep in mind that investing in altcoins is too risky. Many people had also lost a huge amount of money for the wrong investment. This is a reason why we should always be careful and make sure that we are choosing the best altcoin/s.

Bitcoin is a top project on its own with high volatility in the market while altcoins is the real projects that brings small and high profits. Altcoins simply one of the good projects in the market with high profits when it pumps. There are countless essential targets each projects specialized in the market with full proof that it's definitely going to pump either during the pump or dump season. In my opinion, achieving my goals is quite simple because I only triggered my buy actions when the market is stable or during it's dump season which is likely to be my best entries for altcoins.

In simple terms, Bitcoin doesn't have a lot of incoming information regarding market sentiment or developments. In contrast to altcoins where they have everything for every day, if you refer to my point of view, then that's the exact reason why people are more interested in buying altcoins, altcoins move all the time, thus giving more opportunities for people to gain or lose .

What could be the reason but what you've already mentioned, there are altcoins that pumped 50 to 100% percent especially if you're an early bird or investor in their crowdfunding, but right it's very rare to find a good altcoin to invest it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, you really have to dig deep, check the developers, check the platform and check how they interact to the community, and these are just some of the parameters.

Aside from ETH, I don't see any altcoins that could be long-term investments. So far, most altcoins have very short lifespans, and top altcoins are always replaced after every bear season. Only ETH is still the altcoin holding the 2nd position after many years.
Altcoins are not suitable for long-term investment, and I also don't think there will be any altcoin project that can grow more than bitcoin in the near future 5 years or 10 years.

It is because altcoins are way more volatile and have less liquidity than bitcoin and because of that they provide bigger opportunities for those who want to get rich (or poor) quick. Tbh trading alts or playing dice make no difference to me. Both of these actions are different colors of gambling. Just because you are trading an alt with low liquidity doesn't mean that you are an investor. No, you are still gambling.

While altcoins are risky, investing in good altcoins can also be profitable and may even bring greater returns than Bitcoin. Altcoins tend to follow Bitcoin price action, and altcoins are likely to rise when BTC is rising. Most people invest in altcoins because they want to get a bigger return in a short period of time, chasing a higher rate of return.

We must recognize that many of the investors which come to this market do not care at all about it and they are just looking to obtain some profits, and when they compare the profits they can potentially get with altcoins and the profits they can get with bitcoin they choose to invest in altcoins as the profits can be higher.

But this kind of thinking is too shortsighted as it does not take into consideration the probabilities of actually getting those profits, and once you begin to do the math it is easy to see bitcoin is the best choice out of the two.

I think a lot of this is because of the ICO. Many people myself as well saw opportunity for fast gains with little unknown projects. But most Alt coins do not make as much profit as Bitcoin but maybe just faster.
