No matter what parents say to such people, they understand the risks on the gambling industry. Life is all about odds and gambling has no difference on this subject, understanding odds and getting back something for being "lucky" shouldn't be as bad as other bad activities, IMO. The fun factor alone is enough to explain why gambling is still popular and it is in huge demand by many people.
So I was thinking about what is within the fun factor. Is that the entertainment or the winnings? Is it the challenge of trying one's luck or the expectation of profit in every bet we made and hit? When we say fun, it is a vast word with lots of things inside it. Entertainment can be fun, winnings can be fun, and surprises can be fun but losing can never be fun and most of all gambling addiction is not fun at all.

Bringing this to the individual level, gambling is not as bad as most people take it to be and as a matter of fact, gambling is far easier and less risky compared to other ruin activities since one can gamble just for the fun of it other than the usual public assumption that gambler is all in for the money and that why there is a high rate of cases of gambling addiction and other related cases that have to build up the negative perception of gambling.
So for me gambling is more of a fun-oriented activity rather than the revenue-generation motive of others. I
Gambling became bad if the gambler lost control of himself. Gambling is created for fun but due to this fun gamblers get addicted to gambling. I also think gambling is for entertainment but we cannot separate the fact that revenue generation is part of that entertainment that others see.
