In my opinion why some people prefer bitcoin over fiat? because bitcoin is more instant and globally connected just with internet itself. people no need to go to ATM to transfer, well some people have their mobile banking. but, bitcoin is way more simpler and easy to use. if the term misuse of bitcoin itself, i think there's some bad impact too with bitcoin existence. need to do some socializing to younger generation about this
Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because with bitcoin, the value will keep increasing every year if you hold them, that's the opposite of fiat where the value will lose to inflation if you have it for a long time. It can basically act like an investment while it can be used as a currency.
Fiat is stable and stagnant and bitcoin is volatile. I will choose volatile due to I have the chances of growing my investment then I will choose fiat to lock my profits. It's a win win for me. That's how I use the two.

I strongly agree with you, I also the bitcoin because of profit, because fiat can't gives an opportunity to increase their value. In a good side bitcoin gives a chance to the user to earn money using their capital, but in the other side they choose the other for illegal transaction. In other words, bitcon has benefits not only for good aim also for illegal doing, and this will the reason why they choose the bitcoin than fiat, it can hide their identity. I prefer bitcoin because its price will keep going up. but fiat will stay at the same place. kinda like gold to me. I always invest in gold before but now I am a bitcoin diehard fan.
When compared with fiat certainly a lot of advantages of bitcoin, for example is a very low cost if we send money, then the security system is very sophisticated than we save money to the banks.

One strong reason why some people prefer bitcoin over fiat is due to the speed with which bitcoin appreciate in value over the dollar. Another good reason is for the low charge for funds transfer associated with bitcoin
Bitcoin is more faster because it's decentralized, when you make transactions the system will run based on it's norms unlike bank where there is a chance that your transaction will hold or cancelled due to some reason. What bitcoin can do best is that it does not check if transactions purpose are legal or not.

Some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because on some places bitcoin is tax free. I guess it's not bad to use bitcoin for something as long as you're not breaking any law/rules from your place. There's much more misuses of btc but if we continue this discussion it's getting kinda off topic when the title is about bitcoin and fiat.
Some people prefer to use bitcoin because it has high value on online market and it is widely accepted in other country. In addition to that, they prefer to use it because it is easy to used and it can be used in some transactions like paying bills, transfer money and shopping on online market. 
Bitcoin is psuedo-anonymous and backed by mining power and proof of work, whereas fiat is backed by essentially nothing and only cash is anonymous, although not even that much these days.
I’m among those who prefere Bitcoin over fiat and I wish I could earn enough Bitcoins not to use fiat money at all and not to have any business with banks. At the moment this still isn’t possible but one of the reasons why I prefere Bitcoin is biger prihvacy, much better options for earning, it’s easy and convenient for spending and you can have access to your coins everywhere with Internet connection. You can also transfer mine to someone much after and easier than with banks and fiat money.

I have seen a lot of members in this forum discussing about buying drugs, gambling and enjoying porn with bitcoin. Is not it a misuse of a currency ? Block chain tech is a awesome tech and btc is getting popular. I hate these misuses of precious btc. It hurts me. This will lead into unhealthy society along with unhealthy future generation.
People prefer Bitcoin over fait currency because its value appreciate significantly as compared to fait currency. And not that alone, when it come international money transfer Bitcoin is more easier and you can send money without limit while fait currency has limitation because is been control by the government.

No. Bitcoin is not intended to be used for illegal doings such as gambling and to access porn sites. It is just that users preferences that matters among bitcoin usages but it must not be blamed to bitcoin because it is just a currency generated online and the responsibility matters on the type of user. Bitcoin was preferably use by many people because it can be easily accessed and transactions are fast to be processed and have the capability to make money grow. Bitcoin being used in drugs and illegal matters is a sad and hurting things, I felt you in that matter.I just hope there's a proper regulation in using bitcoin so that this illegal,immoral and unhealthy used of bitcoin will be depleted. Then people will prefer to use it for good,to improve their living, for easy transactions, to earn a profit. There's literally no way for us to filter out the transactions going on in bitcoins. People can send to whatever address they want, whenever they want, and no matter how much they want without having someone ask them what it's for. It's not going to deplete at all. Any currency will always be used for illegal transactions. In our case, though, people of the Internet are hyping the idea of bitcoin being used for illegal transaction for niche purposes. It will be so boring if the writer of the article plainly said the truth that bitcoin is not as associated with illegal transactions as much as fiat money is.
Truly, I don't know how you got sad and hurt by the fact that bitcoin is used for drugs and illegal things. You should be really depressed right now if you are so concerned about that because a lot of people are doing drugs right now, a lot of people are hiring a hit man to kill another person, etc. All these things are happening while you are perfectly safe with your life and you can never do anything to change that.
I know bitcoin has great potentials and I also know that there are some bad user of bitcoin like any other currency. But my point is, those bad users are a lot in number. I have seen thousands of posts and comments regarding uses of bitcoin in porn and gambling. You can find it in this forum with minimum effort too. And as bitcoin is not globally adopted, those users really play great impact on impression of btc, I guess majority of usage people get from bitcoin is only as an investment and for trading. then the second place is for payment and third with close rank is gambling. the rest are a relatively small in percentage.
some people prefer bitcoin over fiat because bitcoin is more flexsible than fiat, you can use bitcoin across the world and the fee is lower than you send money with fiat. second reason is they use bitcoin for digital purpose maybe they work online and need more bitcoin than fiat.
It is sad that Bitcoin is now actively used for the most part for illegal goods. Unfortunately I can not use Bitcoin in my everyday life. In my country shops or restaurants do not accept Bitcoin. I have to exchange it for fiat. It's a bit uncomfortable. Hope Bitcoin will legalize soon and the situation will change. I believe that I will be able to use Bitcoin as normal money soon.

There is no currency in the world that is used for those activities you mentioned, so Bitcoin will not be an exception in that manner. To those people who use for such activities, they see it as normal things and not as classified as unhealthy activities.
