Because of bitcoin I can earn some extra money other than my salary, so I am using bitcoin to fulfill my dreams and once they are all reached then I'll stop earning bitcoins and live my life happily ever after.
I agree with you, for me why should bitcoin, because for long-term investment, bitcoin is very suitable, why so, it is because the bitcoin price is fluctuating or erratic, so it can be a challenge for the holder.
For long term investment it is always been said here to use bitcoins. Why bitcoins, because they are safe in investment. If you just see the price charts since last 2 months, you see a line just going up gradually. Yes you are right, these are the extra features that we use bitcoin for buying/shopping online. The main purpose of bitcoin is trading like gold, commodities and Forex but some people see it like fiat currency and use it only for transfer and shopping. It is still cheaper than that of other payment service providers but that is not the case for local offline market transactions. Bitcoin is shocking coin.Its used different purposes. For transferring currency and by holding, mining it gives great opportunity to become profitable as well.
I've been using Bitcoin since it was $50, and recently stopped. I don't like how much influence on the market and stigma of the crypto space it has, so I discontinue supporting it, at least for a while. If core gets their act together or some other fork, perhaps my faith can be renewed. Otherwise much better to just use Ethereum or something else.
I use bitcoin because I can trade with it and then have more money. I like trading and I've tried stock market before but then realized that I cannot profit that much because I have just small capital and to profit from it, I should have at least a million so that I can profit even if there are just small movements of price since prices are stable unlike bitcoin and altcoin in which the price fluctuates because of low volumes so as a trader it is ideal for me to trade crypto instead of stocks. I did not attempt to trade forex because it's too complicated for me.

-The average consumer will usually pay a little extra to have convenience. Bitcoin is less convenience and more hoops and complications.
I just cannot see any reason for the average consumer to use Bitcoins. Until average consumers start using Bitcoins they will just be an experiment and a small speculative bubble.
I have my personal reasons, I am interested Bitcoins them as a tech person, speculative investor and person that follows evolving treads and markets. I am just struggling to see any.. benefits for the average consumer at this stage.
