Looked in the first post, what is the efficiency of RX550 for x16rt. One Vega64 replaces ten RX550.
Does it make sense to mining x16rt on RX550?
Short answer is no.
The current state of the Wildrig miner is not going to give you enough hash per watt to make it worthwile.
Hell, even underclocked Vegas can't mine x16rt profitably currently.
It's due to architectural design of the AMD cards, but also the lack of miner optimisations.
Hopefully Andru will find some time to give the x16 family some love at some point Smiley

i love your miner i think its bloody great , can you one day see if you can get anymore for ravern coin on a amd rx480 8gb , im getting 14096 khs so pretty good.

Hi) Could you share your settings (locking, driver, etc.)?

hi yes windows 7 i7 , nothing special config --- wildrig.exe --algo x16r --opencl-devices=0 --opencl-threads 2 --opencl-launch 20x0 this seems best for this card , enabled large memory pages dont know if it makes a dif but its on.

and i used AMD-Compute-Switcher to put into compute mode , just using latest drivers.

Any chance we can get some performance improvements for X16rt?  AMD miners cant compete with NVIDIA for coins like VEIL.

id even take it in parts if all algo's couldnt be done at the same time.

0.15.4 preview 8, insane speed increase for rainforest algo. Looks like found the same way to increase speed as private miner did xD Now gigahashes per card
Download

WOOOOW! You going to kill the coin))))
No, it's no profitable.

rainforest is good to mine and wait for price up?

time to tweak X16(r) at this level

What is this algo i don't even find a pool. Can you give a link please ?
MicroBitcoin, but they didn't update mining info yet, only pools.

wow, thank you so much for looking into things. I can't imagine why these stupid Vega cards aren't even beating 590's by much...

i don't know what other things to try to adjust. I am not even worried about the efficiency right now. i have the voltages up so I could have high clocks and stable mining. Just now getting good hashrate.
The only thing i have not tried is installing newer drivers from AMD. Didn't want to abandon known-good drivers for other algos unless i had to.
guess I'll have to experiment with some different drivers.  Huh

thanks again Andrucrypt, you rock

High voltage for Vega cards are bad idea, because they will drop clocks exceeding power limit. Just started to test my Vega64 on zergpool. With my settings(check them in OP) I'm getting 16-18MH/s per 250-260W(and  again, not precise undervolting, just 1000mV for core).

ps: hmm, but looks less stable on poolside because of not optimal vardiff per one gpu.

Soo, I made two hours test of RX590 on zergpool mining hex algo, and avg. is 10-11MH/s with 150-160W(but I didn't downvolt it much, 1050mV per core). And I tested it without custom --diff-factor, so your reason of low hashrate is something else.

Well dragonmike,

I am, at the very least, grateful to know I am not alone.

It just sucks knowing that these Vega cards are not reaching their potential. Literally not even close to what they should be able to do theoretically.
Maybe we should gather a private fund to donate to AndruCrypt for his work on AMD. He is literally the only one doing anything for those of us with these AMD cards.

Or, Andrucrypt, if you want some incentive... I am willing to publicly state, I will happily mine away on a AMD specific version of wildrig with double, or even triple, the dev fee if you can get my Vega cards up there competing with those darn 1080's  Grin

Either way, I am grateful he has at least given us something to work with.... more than any other mining software for hex or x16 variants.    Cool

You are the best!   Grin Grin

OK dev...

I'll take any optimizations you have got for my RX Vega cards....
Just talked to my buddy getting 75Mh pool side with 3x 1080ti's

I can't believe that his 3x 1080ti's are hasing almost what my 9x vegas are.  Huh
Welcome to my world.
I keep saying x16 algos are grossly unoptimised on AMD miners.
Nothing personal against andrucrypt, he's basically alone having done a decent miner for AMD. But without competition, why would he bother optimising to death? He prefers focusing on other stuff.

The optimisation war nVidia devs (Z-Enemy, T-Rex and CryptoDredge) have had on x16 shows how huge the difference is.
