Of course without doubt there will be gains this year too, due to high demand and new user's and entering the crypto market which makes the prices to shoot high, so it is better to invest now on cryptos, bitcoins will helps get huge returns whereas altcoins will get good returns in the long run as there is a steady increase in the altcoin market. It is quite natural in any financial market for a hike and drop in the market and normally investors invest when there price is low and sell them when there is a hike in the market which gets them good profits.
Yeah as previously mentioned I don't think we will see the same gains that we saw in 2017 happen again 2018. The whole market was insane in 2017. Its more about finding the correct coins to invest your money and I am sure you will see some good gains.

It’s more likely a survival of the fetish environment where those who are risk takers and knows how to hodl will succeed. And if those people will continuously panic sell whenever price goes down, it will just make the market fall a bit and i think 2017 gains could hardly happen anymore this year.
Everything rose in 2017 90% of it is complete garbage. Once people start to realise that a lot of what they bought is fresh air and dreams the good money will start to flow to the quality projects ie: the ones with an actual working product with genuine real world usage. There are still plenty of opportunities for 2018, you just need to be selective.
No, they will not. 2017 was the greatest year from crypto ever and will probably be remembered as the greatest year for any market even 100 years from now. The fact that it even happened still amazes me. There is by far too much money in crypto now, and people are getting in with expectations. Not many people who invested last January had expectations, meaning they wouldn't cash out their investments after a few weeks if it remained stagnant. A 500 billion market simply cant grow so much in a year.

Thats a good question. 2017 Was a really successful year for all cryptocurrencies. Every cryptocritic is silenced. I really hope 2018 will be a more successfull year for the cryptocurrencies. And i thin it will be. I think this year it will be the best cryptoyear ever, but after 2018 we wouldnt see a such grow anymore in this market. Because this year many gouverments and countrys will start to regulates cryptocurrencies and make stronger laws, which will make a lot of fud to the investors and many of them will be scared and run away.
Are you serious? You really think that the governments can regulate the crypto market and bitcoin? Think buddy. If bitcoin could indeed be regulated, why didn't it happen yet? It has been close to a decade since bitcoin launched and many governments tried to regulate it and failed in the end since there is no possible way to accomplish this without cutting off internet access everywhere around the world which is obviously not possible. Coming to the question by op, no one can tell whether 2018 will be better or worse than 2017, but my gut feeling tells me that 2018 will be better than 2017 due to reasons like the integration of the lightning network etc.
Markets need time to accumulate before continuing to grow steadily.
I think we have at least another two to three years of chance to make considerable gains in some of the more established coins but by 2020, you will probably have to pick and choose some of the new high tech companies evolving and also new ICOS to make the big multiplers. Even now, you should be looking for those hidden gems to make the kind of gains others made in the big league coins. I missed out on those so am looking at other upcoming coins to try to hedge my bets. I still believe we have a chance to make good gains in 2018.
Market soon will go up again to the new highs. Many people predict that market will start grow in spring. But who knows.

I feel 2017 gains was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we won't see anything like it again.

I disagree. In my reality I think crypto is just starting and we will see major gains this year. Lot of big names in the industry are getting attracted to crypto and it will only make it more productive for the humanity as a whole. I imagine seeing everyone moving towards crypto from stock in few years from now.
All of them had big step in 2017, but not Bitconnect. The King of Lending died.

It is not possible to have an 34x increase but it may keep and increase 2x or 3 in this year. The year was 2017 and now 2018 will be a little bit hard for coins
I think the capitalization of the crypto market has reached saturation point = $500-750b and it will be difficult for it to cross the $ 1000b. The investment capital is limited, and their trust in crypto is limited too. There is an infinite thing, perhaps greed!
2017 would be an unforgettable year in the history of cryptocurrency especially for bitcoin. Nobody saw the rapid capmarket rising to such height. 2018 will definition bring it's profits but I doubt if it will be as profitable as. 2017.
2017 was the year everyone started to take notice of cryptocurrency. I don't think that 2018 will see the same massive growth of 2017 but it will still increase and make a statement that cryptocurrency is here to stay.
In saying that I'm always constantly surprised by different things that happen in the market so you never know.

2017 was not a one-time event. Cryptos will rise and rise big starting soon. Millions of new
investors are still pouring into various exchanges so that is very bullish for next rise.

It can happen again, in the crypto world it is not impossible. The first month wasn't good but we can see the good increase in coming months.
i will be watching this post again in january 2019. then we will see how the whole thing has evolved. I'm looking forward to the february. i think then the courses will start to rise like last year
