Yes, alternate coins, I mean popular ones will surely survive the race but hardly will the catch up with bitcoin. The reason is that, bitcoin controls all these coins and a fall in bitcoin price creates a mess in the prices of these coins. Altcoins will only die when blockchain technology dies out from the system and i wonder how that is going to happen.
