Off course altcoin will survive. Most people that invested on bitcoin, does because they only know bitcoin and as they are joining crypto currency they will be acquint with all other coind as well.

It really depends on the idea of each project and the team behind it. I believe that the future of counterfeit money will survive for a long time, because the number of users is increasing.
Altcoins will survive but not all of them will,because there are some altcoins that are just copycats, they copy from other coins e.g roadmaps ,they refuse to bring something new to crypto world and some are just pump and dump.

Getting price higher can cause also decreased the value because participants once more profit so they sell their coins who are pump and that's happen the last few months ago and the price dump the investor are panic and they sell their coin and the price of the altcoins result dumped more. But here I want to say what ever happen to altcoins it will survive for sure because many investor will invest to altcoins once they see the value are very low and better to buy more bitcoin now because of the low price to get more pieces to earn more money. Even bitcoin are possible to survive for longtime.
The survivavility of a coin will surely depend on the team behind it and the goals and vision of it. So yes altcoins will survive. And just some will not survive but I'm sure that there are more altcoins that will survive and will last longer.
