I do not think that Bitcoin and Altcoin will kill one another.  I believe the one who will die a natural death is the altcoin that brings no purpose in the cryptocommunity.  But those with legit projects and technology will eventually work harmoniously with one another.  This will benefit both Bitcoin and altcoin community thus helping each other to stabilize and keep on progressing.

more like vise versa

it's more likely that altoins will kill Bitcoin

Bitcoin's dominance is steadily decreasing

Care to elaborate, and please do not use the coinmarket cap, it is obvious that there is a huge discrepancy when it comes to calculation of the actual dominance.

I do not know why people keep put compare BTC with dollar . I think BTC should be compared to gold not dollor . BTC is the gold of crypto currency world . That is how i see it and i agree that BTC do not need altcoins to survive but altcoins do need BTC to survive .

For any country before they print there currency they should cover it with gold so currency need gold to be printed but gold will always be gold wither there is another currency or not .

Bitcoin won't killed any alt coin, no matter how much is the bitcoin price as long as there are a lot of investors want to invest in that coin then the coin will survive, when bitcoin is up alt coin usually will go down, and the investor will look it as an opportunity to horde the alt coin so with the rising demands the price will be up again

Every time bitcoin price goes up,Altcoin price take a dip.No doubt bitcoin rule the crypto world and sooner or later it will become mainstream.
Once it happens, btc will be worth million dollar. Will then all Altcoin be died?Seems Altcoin price are inversely proportional to btc price, if btc keep rising, will Altcoin keep falling? .
Altcoin will not die, Although there will no person using it in the future. Altcoin will be following the bitcoin.
After bitcoin gets a pump and another will following it. But it will not be getting an instant pump. The bitcoin traders migrate to another coin and make more profit for his wallet.
That's just a bullish trend in crypto, Bitcoin will not make altcoin die in the future. Bitcoin pump and altdump, that's just a correction trend for all of the coins.

Well like the ancient times it all started as the money of 1 empire but time after time  many resurgence are coming then they come up with there own currency. I am not saying this altcoins want to dethrone btc but there is always. It's just saying Btc is the leading country but other countries have there own fiat for there own monetary surveillance.

some altcoins will die for sure. but bitcoin and many altcoins will continue to survive.

what people need to understand is bitcoin needs altcoins and altcoins need bitcoin.

if altcoins die or bitcoin die, this ecosystem will certainly collapse.
I disagree completely with this logic. Why exactly bitcoin needs altcoins for? It is the other way around, altcoins needs bitcoin to survive.
Most altcoins can only be traded for bitcoin, and BTC can be traded directly to fiat money of your choice.

If there were no altcoins then BTC would be worth more that we can possibly imagine, mostly because all attention would be focused on this one ultimate coin.

Yep it lags, but also think about the fiat value. It stays most of the time the same and if the coin stays the same in BTC it will even rise!

I would say no, even bitcoin price goes up eventually the Altcoins will not go down thats because some of the altcoins out in the market are successful and won't hit bottom rock even if the bitcoin increases constantly, especially there are still investors that invested on legit Altcoins which still be organized and running. Still altcoins won't beat bitcoin in terms of price.  Smiley

This industry is pure fiction
This should tell you all you need to know

http://coinmarketcap.com/charts/#btc-percentage

Unless there's a monumental reversal, unlike the world has ever seen, bitcoin may eventually end up holding about 10-20% of the total crypto market. Still the No.1 currency but not as dominant as people are used to now. Give it 5 more years. But I don't believe that BTC will be above 50% dominance by the end of the year. Might even be sooner, maybe around September. Alts are growing too fast. Bitcoin is as well but just not as fast.

Not because all altcoins are red today while bitcoin is surging up, doesn't mean it is that way all the time. There were times when altcoin price surges as bitcoin price goes up. It all depends on what is causing the price to go up.

Every time bitcoin price goes up,Altcoin price take a dip.
This is not allway the case, market is not so simple. Sometimes traders sell off altcoins to purchase Bitcoin, that is why dip is created.
However it is usually temporary situation. In general, stronger Bitcoin = stronger altcoins

No doubt bitcoin rule the crypto world and sooner or later it will become mainstream.
Once it happens, btc will be worth million dollar. Will then all Altcoin be died?Seems Altcoin price are inversely proportional to btc price, if btc keep rising, will Altcoin keep falling? .
There always be some new altcoins created, because either: developers want to create something new and unique or they want to grab your money by creating another pump and dump altcoin.

Did the US dollar eventually kill the altdollars?
Dollar will eventually kill itself. Just wait and see.

How could that be possible? I mean the value of bitcoins on dollar worth rises every time bitcoin rises. The bitcoin value of altcoin might drop in value but since bitcoin value increases the altcoin value for dollar increases too.

As long as the bitcoin rise in dollar % is higher than the drop of altcoin % than the amount of altcoin in dollar value keeps increasing as well.

This is not true, the opposite happens historically - when BTC goes up ALTS follow.
That's also not true. It depends on the alternative coin itself. Most of the altcoins were painted red on most exchanges when bitcoin price got over $1350. The relation between Bitcoin and Altcoins prices is obvious, but not quite proportional.

were you living under a rock this past December?  They eventually do, but there is always a lag, btc price rise has always hurt alt prices in the short term.

People just move their money into bitcoin to get involved in the price rise. To so that they sell their alts.
That starts a little cycle of Alts falling, so people selling more to get into Bitcoin, meaning that the difference gets even bigger.

It'll only last a little while, until the Bitcoin price stabilises and people look at the new lower price of Alts, so move back into them!

I try not to stress too much about it, if you are in the big alts, they will bounce back.
