Because to my knowledge there are several countries in southeast asia that have not legalized bitcoin. And what is our endeavor for bitcoin in southeast asia to be legal like any other country (which has legalized bitcoin).
Will the impact be positive or negative?
We still don't know about that. The legalization of bitcoin will still depends on the Government of each country. There are still issues about bitcoin every government has to tackle before they legalize bitcoin, hopefully it will be legalize soon. Most important now is that many people in Southeast Asia is free to use bitcoin.

Recently read a story about how in some Asian country bitcoins were stolen and because there are no laws on crypto currency in this country, they were lost irrevocably. So I think so, and very soon.

Most of the Southeast Asian countries doesn't have any say to bitcoin otherwise few of them are crypto-friendly.

And the remaining are the ones that imposed ban and illegality to bitcoin. We can't feel the impact because we are not living to those country that said it to be illegal.

I appreciate if there is a law that supports people when they do Bitcoin activities like rights and responsibilities as well, all things, in fact, has a negative and positive impact, it is only the way how they implement it that makes everything right.

As far as i know in most of Asian countries bitcoin is not illegal but the government or banks doesn't support it. They just don't take any responsibility for fraud in bitcoin transaction, buying, selling trading etc.

It depends on the individual countries whether they will legalize bitcoins or not. Due to the positive impact of bitcoins on the economy, I think very soon countries in southEast Asia will be legalizing bitcoins into their mainstream economy.

Already Japan has been the first south east asian country to legalize bitcoin.

Japan is not in South-East Asia, what country is north of Japan?

In China, bitcoin is an illegal one

China is not in South-East Asia..

India is a country in South Asia, if I am not wrong, they banned bitcoin, and again they open the door for the bitcoin, At this moment, India is trying to pull bitcoin under regulations. So, I think other countries in south Asia will accept bitcoin within three years. This is just my prediction about this issue.

India is in South Asia not South-East, what the topic is about, and they HAVE NOT banned bitcoin.

And there are some people that claim the average bitcoin user is more knowledgeable ....myth busted.
Can't you people just open a map before typing stupid things here?

Now, when it comes to SE Asia the situation is really really bad, probably the worse region in the world:

Vietnam - Illegal as payment tool
Thailand - Banking ban
Indonesia - Illegal as payment tool
Cambodia - Illegal

Already Japan has been the first south east asian country to legalize bitcoin. But it was very unfortunate that most other countries at first didn't allow bitcoin. But now slowly the situation is changing and such countries have started recognising bitcoin.

maybe now they are aware of the influence on bitcoin. so they take such an attitude

use of mobile payment platforms like Linepay and Wepay and therefore hinted at the idea that a robust crypto payment platform would be easy to adopt. There is already an exchange platform called omisego that partnered with Alipay that allows Southeast Asian crypto fans to transact in crypto.

The fact that stuff like Line/wechat payments exist also make it a lot harder to sell people on crypto when there are easy to use alternatives like those for p2p money exchanging and such. The security issue alone is a big one. Crypto is easy to lose and makes you a target.

Bitcoins are legal in the Philippines, but in other countries in Southeast Asia, as far as I know, there are still many countries banned from Bitcoin. They think that Bitcoin will hurt their economy. Because this is the agricultural development countries

It's difficult to convince my government because cryptocurrency able to cause inflation and corruption.
That's why my government against cryptocurrency until now.

Well as I can see, they have correct judgement and me as investor only can obey their decision ! ( invest with my own risk )

At least we can still use it as an asset even though the chance to use it as a currency will be impossible. Yes, as I think our government, Indonesian government in this case, already made the best decision and we have to support and obey it!

I think it is somehow legal already. It is seems to be considered as scam because of different opinions and perceptions but Banks did not really changed their minds about it.
In the Philippines, Banks and remittances are accepting bitcoins. But no stores available. If there are some, totally not spending that much because acquiring and earning bitcoins is very hard these days. I would spent somehow but for important things only.
Here in my country Philippines bitcoin recognized by the government, we can convert bitcoin money into cash with the help of coins.ph here in the Philippines and also use it in money transfer to other people and I think some store in Makati are accepted bitcoin as payments. Like you I spent my bitcoin in very useful things only it's so hard to earn money right now. Other country in South East Asia they didn't accepted bitcoin cause they think that bitcoin is scam.

South East Asia contributes big to the growth of bitcoin with increasing user base over the specific region. From my view majority of the countries located in that region hasn't made anything legal or illegal towards bitcoin usage. This serves as a neutral support and the same has caused increase in usage of bitcoin.

I hope will be ilegal in future, because most of the reliable and innovative projects are born in southeast Asia, therefore it's very important for crypto market in global.

Most countries in southeast asia have not received bitcoin legally for use. Which I know only the philippines up to now regulate bitcoin as a legal payment system for any use. Southeast Asia is still a lot of developing countries, because developing countries will think up to thousands of times to receive bitcoin worth of fiat currency. Just hope it is because to receive crypto currency not only through bitcoin or altcoin, but the blockchain is able to get them interested.

if bitcoin is legal in my country, the impact is positive Because Bitcoin is a virtual currency that can be used in payment transactions, legality is an important matter that is deeply considered by its users.
