I am one of those who live in the southeast Asian region who really hope the legalization of cryptocurrency especially Bitcoin, is because Bitcoin has the potential to have a big impact in Southeast Asia because most people do not have access to banking services and a large market for remittances.

Frankly speaking not many countries have legalized Bitcoin let it be United States of America or any other western country. You have to worry about those countries first before even thinking about Southeast Asia cause they are the ones who can increase adoption of Bitcoin fast.

Because to my knowledge there are several countries in southeast asia that have not legalized bitcoin. And what is our endeavor for bitcoin in southeast asia to be legal like any other country (which has legalized bitcoin).
Will the impact be positive or negative?

In China, bitcoin is an illegal one.But still now, their are huge investors in China. My concern is,bitcoin legality will not affect the price of bitcoin. If you had compared the investors of particular country with the over all investors in this world. The number of investors in that country will be very low.

According to the this article, banks financial services are only provided to 62% of people worldwide and only 27% of the Southeast Asia’s 600 million people have bank account access. As a result, it is a mast for the rest 73% to take advantages of the blockchain and the new technologies that only require  to possess a smartphone which is already extremely common in in that part of the world. This why the crypto environment still has a large opportunities benefiting from that paradigm in financial services given by banks and governamental institutions.

I think it is somehow legal already. It is seems to be considered as scam because of different opinions and perceptions but Banks did not really changed their minds about it.
In the Philippines, Banks and remittances are accepting bitcoins. But no stores available. If there are some, totally not spending that much because acquiring and earning bitcoins is very hard these days. I would spent somehow but for important things only.

Day by day bitcoin will be accepted in every country, this is my dream. India is a country in South Asia, if I am not wrong, they banned bitcoin, and again they open the door for the bitcoin, At this moment, India is trying to pull bitcoin under regulations. So, I think other countries in south Asia will accept bitcoin within three years. This is just my prediction about this issue.

I think bitcoin in Southeast Asia will definitely be relieved, because with the existence of bitcoin can increase employment and income of the citizens. even with a long period of time, but surely bitcoin will be legal

From the look of things, most countries in Asia including the Southeastern part will legalize Bitcoin. Some are still hoping this to happen very soon so that Bitcoin will gain further stability and acceptability.

use of mobile payment platforms like Linepay and Wepay and therefore hinted at the idea that a robust crypto payment platform would be easy to adopt. There is already an exchange platform called omisego that partnered with Alipay that allows Southeast Asian crypto fans to transact in crypto.

The rule of thumb is, if the country has capital controls it won't legalise crypto, because bitcoin can be used to get round capital controls.

Crypto has already begun making an impact in that region. The market there is great for crypto as more people have access to smartphones than to banking services. This in turn has increased the use of mobile payment platforms such as Linepay and Wepay and therefore hints towards the idea that a formidable crypto payment platform will be easily adopted. There is already one exchange platform called omisego that has partnered with Alipay that allows southeast asian crypto enthusiasts to transact in crypto.

We have more info on the omisego platform as well, feel free to check it out: http://bit.ly/OmisegoGuide101
