Memecoins are subject to extreme volatility. For newbie investors this is not good and many of them will want to get out as soon as there is a big crash. The user base has grown a lot thanks to Elon Musk but there is only so much one person can do. We have seen it cool off recently and Elon hasn't tweeted much about it. There is only so much you can say about a coin with a dog's face as it's symbol. Doge is mainly just a pump and dump coin right now. It does not have much utility and isn't great as a store of value. It will go away like a lot of shitcoins if we don't see meaningful development and adoption soon.
Dogecoin price was good before the elon musk effect. Elon opting out will only reduce it's value a bit, but yes, it'll survive.
Dogecoin wasn't good until Elon's hyped it. If that influential person didn't take over and enter the scene, Dogecoin is just an ordinary meme coin with stable volume and can't be considered a good coin to be traded for a short term.
Now with the silence about anything involving Dogecoin, don't expect that the price will be pushed up even with a bull market unless a like of Elon Musk or having with equal status, will make noise for that coin.

When Elon Musk was not yet interested in Dogecoin, the Dogecoin already established its name and considered as one of the known cryptocurrency in the market it was also popular in the gambling sites and it was used as a test coin that can be achieved through faucet. The good thing about Elon Musk is he didn't just want to make it more famous but also improve its system and can have a real use in the real world.
Even with Elon supporting Dogeshitcoin 24x7, it's survival is not guaranteed for the long term. Take out Elon from the equation, you will have another useless coin in your wallet. A coin can't purely survive on hype. It needs to increase the acceptability rates, and Doge has so far failed to do that. As a mode of payment, it is not preferred because more efficient, safer and affordable alternatives are available. And let's not forget the fact that Doge was originally created in 2013, to mock the very idea of cryptocurrency.

Dogecoin is a surviver as it has survive all this years on its own before Elon musk came into the picture. The ups and downs has always been there, Elon musk tweets just give investor more turst in the project with the hopes of it reaching $1. The Doge hype has already over, but I don't think it will vanish like other meme coins. it has no proper use case but It is being used for trading, gifting, and buying gifts cards and It is also the most popular meme coin, so It cant be vanished.

Elon Musk is just making the trend on Dogecoin go up. Doge can survive without Elon Musk. Because Dogecoin is used for cheap and fast transactions before Elon Musk made a trend.
Before Elon Musk started to pay attention on dogecoin, dogecoin were "cheap and fast" blockchain which price barely grows. Of course there were rare price pumps. Without Mask, it will still be only a speculative asset, and once another "cheap and fast" asset appears, everyone will forget about dogecoin. Not to mention that dogecoin spawned lots and lots of "animal" altcoins. Due that, it is easy for dogecoin to get lost and pass away.
