Your partner, girlfriend or boyfriend giving the best for both you isn't always the case. Sometimes, it is most likely something that they don't want you to do or they are against to do. It is not something that you're partner needs to decide but rather it is you who must think how gambling affects your relationship and your financial needs. If gambling is just your leisure activity to have fun and it doesn't affect the both of you in terms of financial and time then your partner asking you to stop it would not be fine.

Some people change - they really value their relationship.
Had it been the case - I would go an extra mile for my partner.
But some people don't want to change - they are stubborn and they go on their way. They are difficult to deal at times too.

It will have no effect if you are not involved in any kind of addiction to gambling. Gambling and relationship both are different from each other. Girlfriend is considered as life partner while the gambling refers to the entertainment. I think both are needed here considering two aspects. But it is a big problem for those who are addicted to gambling.

I think it depends on the situation. If the girlfriend is a wife material that you'd like to spend your life with and she's just concern, lets say you're overdoing it to the point you spend so much money in gambling and you dont have time for her then I will listen. Otherwise, I will continue to play because we have our own reason why we play and it doesnt mean you are already addicted, for some of us its for entertainment. But always consider the people around you especially if it is for your own welfare.

If your parents can't stop you and likely your girlfriend won't be. You still need to do it moderately as you're trying to hide it from them. Honestly, there's no need to hide if it's your own money that you're using for spending. Just tell them that you are unstoppable so that they won't even give a try to stop you.

Someone popped up in the collectibles board once selling a cryptocurrency coin, and saying they were doing so because their girlfriend didn’t like the fact that he was “in to bitcoin/cryptocurrency”. We all told him he should get rid of her lol. That’s a bit different of a situation though. If the girlfriend doesn’t like the gambling because of it being a problem, then I understand, but if not, she likely needs to mind her own business.

^This depends on you at the first place, sometimes we did not see a bad effect on those things that we usually do. If it is relevant to financial matters and it will affect it, probably your girlfriend see this situation while you are not because you blindly follow your urge in gambling. Sometimes listening to them for your own good is worth it. But if you gamble moderately and if you see that you can manage everything, then there is no reason your girlfriend will stop you in that case. Be responsible gamblers and nothing will stop you.

Depends not all stories are the same. If you just lost your entire savings and she says to stop is way different than just meeting her and you play 50-100 dollars and she tells you to stop. They wont really make those words if they havent seen something wrong which most of the time where people do go beyond their limits then it is really
just normal that our loved ones will really be having that reaction and would be telling that we should stop but there are some who do make out some selfish
decisions just because they dont just like that you are spending some time on other things and would want that you should really be just focusing on them. Cheesy
