I think that always and in everything you need to trust but verify. The same is in this forum where the rank has become closer to the conditional value due to a number of reasons. But there are well-known experienced participants and you listen to such in the first place.

I believe that if the project was announced by a participant with a legendary rank, this does not mean that the project is reliable
maybe this participant has nothing to do with this project
need to check the project more deeply
and who represents him here does not matter

Will you trust a project that the one that announced it in the announcement thread is a legendary member even though the legendary has announced that he is not part of the team and was just part of the service he offered.

Let me know your thoughts here.
Not really, because we need an assurance that it could be a legit campaign and a project that can be transparent in all of their activities especially in terms on what will they gonna do to their funds. It could be so hard to trust nowadays, even well known managers have been scammed by a certain company , they also need to show their valid ID if needed.

I mostly trust them if they don't have any red trust in their profile. Legendary member's demand is high and a low quality or scam project doesn't want to spend a big amount of money. That's why I think a Legendary or a higher rank member profile si more trustable than a newbie member.
Well if we compare to newbie the legendary account is way better, but it doesnt guarantee the legitimacy of the project. It is just one of the indication that this particular project might genuine.

Because if the one who will manage the project is a reputable member here then it is likely a good one since reputed member would not risk their account to handle a scam that might put them in a messy situation.

Even if its posted or being promoted by a legendary members of the  group does not necessarily mean that the project is going to be successful. There are bounty projects handled by Legendary and most reputable members of the forums but still the project didn't to the expectations that means anything would rely on the project itself and team running behind it.

Part of my decision on trusting the project will surely look on its reliability so I guess due to lots of experience, I can entrust the project I will get to engage if a legendary member will introduce it. Specially now that we are into the merit system that measures someone's credibility and a part of being a legendary member is having lots of merit scores from participants of the forum so I believe they will not betray or promote any failure or scam projects to low rank members. But still, I will need to check on the project myself to see it on my own and do my own decision making regarding the project information because it is just a promotion and still you will be the one to check it out and find needed information that will satisfy your curiosity and inquiry before getting engage into any project.

Nah i will skip it for sure. There is no a guarantee if the project announced by a legendary member. Only yourself can be trust, you can do your own mini research to make sure the project is legit or not. I learned my lesson and i dont trust anyone.
Yes the project started by a legendary member do not mean that we have to trust on it blindly but there are some members of the forum who are more trusted members, for example the moderators of this forum or the well reputable marketing managers who always care for the this community and all of the forum members trust on them, if they will start a project then they will start only for the beneficial of this community we have to trust on them.

A project that will do well will do well it doesn't matter who announced it as have seen a project announced by a brand new member doing amazingly.

My answer is negative in this case. I have seen my senior members of this forum getting a negative trust. So I won't risk my investment only on member rank. I have few standards as part of my research for new projects, if they are meet only then I can invest.
I will only trust them if I will have a satisfactory conversation with them and if I will be aware of their concern before announcing that project. Most of the time people promote the project for money but they personally never used it so it’s hard to trust people like this we should simply get our own way and be with the project has a good name in the market.

I truly know legendary members are very careful with Thier account so would likely promote good projects but despite that before I participate I must surely do research as I do not trust anyone aside myself in crypto.

As simple as this, if a legendary member announces a project most likely he already come up on checking the project before it announce publicly because if they promote a scam project their reputation is at risk that is why people are trusting a legendary member rather than trusting lower ranks.

Absolutely, but we should make sure that the legendary member is one of the trusted person here in the forum, proven that he did something that will benefit all of us, he's not just legendary because he's a pioneer but because he deserve it and he really have the potential and really have the knowledge in criticizing a project and he's not paid by it.

Yes, I will trust them because legendary members will not do anything to make their reputations dirty so that they will not get red trust on their bitcointalk accounts just because of those projects that aren't profitable or scam.

@daniel002 I would be careful if I were you as people can always buy a legendary account, and those bought accounts views cannot be trusted. In my case I would only trust old and active legendary members here who have proven over the time that they can be trusted with their reviews.

Yes, trusting legendary members who are active in this forum will be far better than trusting legendary members who are not active at all and will be considered and investigated before participating in a managed project.
actually ranking is not a problem in managing the project, but if suddenly a legendary member comes and manages the project, it must be suspected and carry out a detailed investigation.
That, I think is the good thing when a legendary member manages a campaign since it would be looked at carefully whether is it a sold account that had been bought in a purpose to encourage the users in bitcointalk to join their bounty which is quiet shady if we look at it. The thing is that I had witnessed some managers who are legendary but turns out the bounty is a scam so I think it is not on the rank of the manager that we should trust but on the reputation. I would be more inclined to join in a project where the manager had a good history running previous projects or had positive DT.

Now that my eye is more opened to what is going on in this forum about bounties i think i won't care what the rank of the announcer is, i prefer to look at the bounty manager reputation, if i am not seeing guys like btcltcledger, bubbalex or arteezy just count me out

There are numerous legendary accounts, that runs projects even when they have red trust. People still believe them, invest, promote the project.

The other thing is - legendary account can be bought by scammers.

As well as legendary account can have a negative trust and still run successful project. (received red trust long ago for something not connected with particular project).

Red trust is not a sentence, but only trust yourself  Smiley
