Ahh I had this problem with XP the other day and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, but when I tried to call support they told me they were now all dead.

Sucks for the people that have to upgrade. Hope they can afford it.
One word: Linux Wink
I miss Windows XP, I still have a fresh sealed copy. Is it even safe to use it anymore? I wouldn't mind installing it on a spare PC.
As long as you don't connect it to the internet it should be fine to use! Cheesy

Most of that is getting fixed with the next update, just search for 8.1 update 1, I had the same frustration as you and decided to move back to win7 but now 8.1 update seems to be more attractive

You mean they completely abandon :
- MicroSoft Account-pushing
- remove Metro entirely from the System
- remove App System entirely from the System
- revert to a 100% Vista/Win7 Desktop ?

That would mean some serious improvement, will keep an eye on that.

- MicroSoft Account-pushing                                    No
- remove Metro entirely from the System                    Can be bypassed also they fixed the stupid apps and are getting the close reduce... on top right again
- remove App System entirely from the System            No Nothing wrong with the app system as it a success in other platforms, it would be an issue if they force to only use the app store
- revert to a 100% Vista/Win7 Desktop ?                    It will have start button, and will look almost exactly as 7 with ergonomic improvement and especially system improvement (security/speed/standard compliance...)

I am still using Windows XP is my favorite, but Windows seems to force people to use the news version   Sad
They cannot continue support for a 12 y.o. OS. It makes perfect sense.

Though now I have to convince my grand-mother that she have to install a lightweight linux like Lubuntu (her machine is from 2005). But does not want to, since a 70-80 year old man she know will come next summer and install Windows 7. Good luck I say.
Good luck with your grand-mother.And yes your right with windows xp support,is just my lazy ass keep me from updating my windows and buy a new laptop
Thank you! Smiley
Btw, you should switch to linux while you're at it! Wink

I cannot believe that people really give a sh*t about gaming.

My $.02.

Wink

Well then, you'll find this unbelievable:
http://qz.com/195098/last-year-71-million-people-watched-other-people-play-video-games/

And no, that's not the amount of people PLAYING games; that's amount of people WATCHING other people playing games Grin

Well if there is only one controller haha but yah a lot of people watch DOTA and LOL

There's a huge online following for such videos. I recently read about a guy who posts his game-playing videos to YouTube; he's got thousands of followers and he makes millions in ad revenue.

Yeah and my lack of interest in or awareness of gaming led to be ignoring bitcoin in the beginning.

I knew about Bitcoin but paid no attention because I thought it was only silly gaming shit.

Guess I learned differently, eh?

I cannot believe that people really give a sh*t about gaming.

Why? Many of my friends are so much addicted to gaming that they are spending 12-14 hours per day in it. Even I was addicted to Age of Empires until 2008, and used to spend 10-12 hours everyday playing it.
Gaming is fun :p and really a stress buster  ...! but as the time passes by our priority changes ..!
