Yeah, diversification is very important. Buying only one coin and hoping for it to rise is a big gamble. I always have at least 5coins and BTC/ETH are always among them.

I think you should start with a small amount of money and for me $400 is really enough to start trading altcoins and i am confident that you can learn very well how to trade altcoins with that amount and off course having a good knowledge about altcoins is very important to start trading.

You cannot tell how much you will need to startcit will depend on how much you can buy, but do not over buy so you will not loose. Buy only what you can so that if you loose you still have money. You are the only one who can answer on your question because we are all different in the amount that we will invest in trading but you should be wise in investing your money. So that you will earn big.

Its upto you with how much you will start...You can start with zero also...And join signature campaign then after earning some coins invest them...or if you can invest then you can start investing also with any amount you want.

In my opinion, there is nothing like ideal number or whatnot. Because of, we play in this crypto world with money that we could afford to lose, not with the kind of hot money that when you losing it and you'll be in trouble. Well maybe, just maybe you could play with $100 or $200.

There's no ideal number, my advice is that invest with what you have and with how much you can afford to lose, of course never invest an amount you can't afford to lose. Also try participating in bounty campaigns in order for you to earn other cryptocurrencies on the side. Also be wary of trading and as much as possible know who you're trading with.
