I think there is a problem with the store. Other peoples orders are showing up in a shared cart and the register option isn't there.

Confirmed!

I ordered my boards, and suddenly there are 60+ boards in my cart of somebody else

Might want to reset it all and start over Smiley

The price difference between without heatsink and with heatsink+fan is 8-9 EUR.

Why not just make a comment in the order to not send a fan if you don't want one?

An extra product type is a massive hassle in fulfillment. To save a couple EUR per board on your money printing machine sounds unreasonable, to say the least.

Depends on the quantity of your boards.

But some would prefer to get the miner with heatsink, but without fan... it sounded to me thats possible, now im not so sure anymore.

Exactly. Heatsink should be carefully designed to match the power dissipation of the chips, the size, etc, I wouldn't dare to buy separate. Fan, on the contrary, you can buy at every corner computer shop in every city in the world, no need to ship from Germany.

I have to admit this heatsink/fan stuff is confusing, I would like to get official reply from Burnin:

96 EUR BitBurner 20 version, does it have a heatsink?

I would like to order *with* heatsink but *without* fan, is this the version for me?

Thanks.

If you order one board with a heatsink, you won’t get a fan.
If you order two or three boards with heatsink, you’ll get one fan for free. If you order four or five boards with heatsinks, you’ll get two fans for free… and so on.

Stacking cable can be ordered from the shop for ~8€ and cheaper than that if you get the unassembled version IIRC.

Are your sure? burnin says:

The "without cooling" board includes only the populated PCB nothing else.

So no heatsink?

If you order the naked board specifically without cooling, why would you expect a fan to come with it? Did you even read what I typed?

There will be three versions AFAIK:

  • complete (complete board, heatsink on each board, you get one free fan per two boards, hardware for stacking... essentially everything but the bus cable)
  • normal aka "without cooler" (assembled board populated with chips, presumably nothing else except maybe some hardware bits to stack the boards, but im not sure)
  • PCB (naked PCBs without chips)

and maybe one version with watercooling, who knows.

No, in the "complete" package has one fan per 2 boards included and one micro usb every 16.
The "without cooling" board includes only the populated PCB nothing else.
The complete package will include everything needed apart from the stacking cable.

Problem is the terminology "cooler" in circular email, what does cooler mean? fan? heatsink + fan?

I will order only one BitBurner 20, and I want heatsink but fan is unnecessary, I have dozens of them. How much should I pay, 96 EUR or 105 EUR?

Am I the only one confused?

First one is correct but its only connector and other is only wires no connectors and need to attach it yourself.

This is correct one with cable 6in and 2 female 2pin connectors.

I was under the impression that up to 16 boards can be on one cable so if you need more than 2 boards you have to custom make your cable.
Yes that is correct. The ready cable is good only for 2 boards without possibility to add another board.
So you should buy one long cable + the same number of connectors as you have boards. It should be easy to install the connectors, just snap the cable in and connector will strip the insulation off.
