@BenTuras were you able to get the CAN to work now?
you have to state the number of miners in cgminer correctly.
It must be maximum number of boards in cluster x2.
And i would also suggest setting the fan control target temperature to 45°C.
This is for a stack of 8:
Code:
--avalon-options 115200:16:10:50:256 --avalon-temp 45
Yes, I got the can-bus working with the termination installed on both ends of the bus.
I am running cgminer 3.3.2 without any options.
All board are blinking red/green/orange and are hashing like never before ;-)
Temp is 47/48 degrees C on cgminer.
8 boards produce around 42GH/s.

:-)

Hello,

when it is expected that the project will be open source?

Cheers

I wonder what would be the risk when a psu has for example 400W at one 12A line and i would power one board directly and 3 others with cables? I could use 3mm speaker cables if that helps...

You risk that the weakest part melts.
The power for the 3 others has to go through the PCB from the direct connection to the green terminal then.
burnin already recommended to only connect two boards and use solid wires. I would just follow his recommendations.

I wrote it in red and bold, USE SOLID COPPER WIRES

updated status of all orders shipped now.

speaker cables are not solid. Non solid cables are not allow in lustre terminal.

You can get solid copper 1.5mm2 cables  in every hardware store (Baumarkt) very cheap.

I ordered this one from amazon.de: H&G Erdkabel 3 X 1,5 10m

order 737, no tracking or email yet, status still showing up as processing on the account page

Was with Zefir's batch 1...

anyone else in the same predicament?

But you was late claiming your chips from Zefir and so you probably have to wait for batch 2, as your chips was given to ppl from batch 2.

Zefir confirmed I'm in batch 1, I made it in time Smiley

I paid for 20 batch 1 zefir chips and had them sent to you and paid assembly.  Order #824 I've sent you an email as well.  Please answer my questions when you have the time. Thanks!

8 Bitburners in a stack:

Mine, all mine...(oops :-)

Nice, but why they are all upside down?
LOL, does it matter ?!

Heatsinks up, warm air goes up, it seems logical this way. They can only cool the same or better this side up.

I was wondering about cooling, but maybe this could be better orientation. Burnin has always shown pictures of bitburners chip side up, so this just seems odd. Maybe in Australia this is natural Smiley

My batch #1 order is still shows as processing. Not sure if it shipped or the status wasn’t updated yet. Anybody in the same boat?

Order #824 with batch 1 zefir chips still processing.  Chips were delivered to burnin. Hopefully he's busy mounting chips and hasn't updated the support ticket system.

That 8 board stack is about the same hashing power as a 3 unit Avalon. Smiley
Are you using a RasPi to connect them to the internet?
Wrong. 8 bb boards = 160 chips. Each avalon module is 80 chips, so my stack is equal to 2 avalon modules.
For now I am using Ubuntu 12 and cgminer 3.3.2.
I have the Raspberry too, just didn't have time to set up a sdhc card with the software.

Equal in number of chips. But the chips in the Burnin boards have higher overclocking potential, therefore more hashing power than the same chips in Avalon modules.

Don't they make USD via ACH when they are upside down?

And swift EURO's when you lay the stack on its side  Grin

Now that the boards are for sale is the schematic going to be released? I know it was mentioned previously in the thread but haven't seen them yet. I think having them to look at may answer a lot of questions.

I cant quote burnin directly right now, but his statement towards this question was that he will release them after a reasonable profit was made.
Burnin surely had a lot of work done and needed to invest which should at first returned bevor releasing those data.

I will send out BOM, Stencil-Gerber, drawings and Pick and Place data out to those who have ordered blank PCBs next week, under NDA.
That NDA basically reads: do not redistribute until i open source the project on delivery of the first BitBurners. (5th to 6th of august.)
Unfortunately only a few will get PCBs from the very first batch since i received more chips from Zefir then anticipated.
More PCBs are on their way but will take at least one week longer then the first. (12th to 16th)

Have you send? Nothing in my Inbox.
