What I dont like is aging. It sucks coz you are just like counting up to your impending death. I always think what would happen when I die. Makes me wonder about life and death, heaven and hell if they are real. I dont know. I wanna live forever thats for sure.

My general rule is as follows:

"As long as I have the off switch"

The obvious assumption is that in order to live forever, there's going to be a general switch in biology, in the sense that we're going to start essentially becoming cyborgs (either modifying our bodies in order to enhance longevity, or a non-gradual switch into being digitized completely).

I'm more inclined to be OK w/ option 1, but only if I have the ability to decide to cease to exist.

Revelation 9:6:
During those days people will seek death but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them.

Cool

Good point, never actually considered that verse.

I'm not super religious, but that is quite the coincidence.

The fact that a person will gradually turn into a cyborg, I have long heard and suspect that this development will be very relevant, because today scientists are trying to implant not only mechanical limbs, but also internal organs for humans that will be stronger and stronger for real  samples that now have each person.  Humanity will choose between strength, durability and weakness.  In addition, it is very likely that human consciousness can be transferred to the appropriate drive.

I certainly would. It would suck to outlive your friends and family though if they chose not to.

I think it will be impossible to live forever in organic body no matter how often we repair this part of the gene.
By the way, we would have to give up having children to live forever.. . Imagine how boring that would be.  Maybe those who choose to live forever or thousands of years will need shapeshifting robots with multiple personalities to reduce the boredom of living with thesame characters for thousands of years.
I fancied living forever when I was an atheist but the thought today makes me want to throw up.

If you are more focused on living a moral lifestyle, you will dislike the idea of living forever here on earth.

Would YOU choose to live forever?

Scientists have made a discovery that could lead to a revolutionary drug that actually reverses ageing.

The drug could help damaged DNA to miraculously repair and even protect Nasa astronauts on Mars by protecting them from solar radiation.

A team of researchers developed the drug after discovering a key signalling process in DNA repair and cell aging.

During trials on mice, the team found that the drug directly repaired DNA damage caused by radiation exposure or old age.

'The cells of the old mice were indistinguishable from the young mice after just one week of treatment,' said lead author Professor David Sinclair.

Human trials of the pill will begin within six months.

I am 62 as is my wife.  I would want the two of us to age backwards to 22 years old.

40 years to get back 22. Stay at 22 for 40 years. Then age normally so I would get 40+40+40=

120 extra years and be back to 62. It would give me the longest marriage in modern times.

My wife and I would be about 182 but look like 62. It would be the year 2139.

We already love forever, in spiritual world, with our spiritual body.
Don't think that earthly life is everything.
In fact, we die twice in our lives and we are born three times, in mother's womb, in this world and in spiritual world.
For this world we have to develop lungs in order to love and for spiritual world we need love otherwise we can't breathe there.

I'll speak behalf of people first, if a life last forever then it will become meaningless, all the charme of living is being mortal..
But, if I had to say something about it, I certainly disagree, because I already want to die right now, I am waiting for my life to end impatiently, I'd be disappointed if it lasts forever..

Cool

If it is true, then science should give us any proof of humen who are living above two centuries. Actually, it is just discovery but in reality we can't see anything like science wise a man is living 200 or 300 years. I think we should live in reality, for me it is just discovery and nothing more.

My only thing about my life is we are born in this world to live happily and enjoy our life so that the problems are came for everyone in any situation that we need to regret them because if we take care so much about the sadness then you will not live in this world with your good life.
