Having longer life is good. But having eternal? For some or most people it may be cool or awesome. It think, yes it will be fun until situation changes. You can't always say everyday is a normal day. What if something horrible, super terrible happened and you are there to witness, or worst, experience it. That would be no fun at all. Hence, it would be traumatic even if you can live through it. And even if you live through it, even the most adventorous people will not consider it fun, knowing they can survive it. So I really think it's not that fun.

There is one other reason to live forever. If the alternative were extremely painful.

If most people didn't want to survive, they wouldn't fight so hard to survive.

People who don't want to live commit suicide. The percentage of suicides of the whole population is small.

Perhaps if a person lived in a healthy way to 500 years, then he might find that he doesn't want to live any longer, just out of boredom, or some other lack of interest in life.

Personally, I think that there will always be interest in life and the things around us. There are always new things of interest being found.

I already chose to live forever, at the moment when I accepted Jesus as my savior.
In the physical world we have many limitation because of our body.
Do you really think that you will enjoy your life here on the Earth as very old man, 150 years or more, very sick, unable to walk, eat etc.?
But in the spiritual world there is no limits and I wants such eternity.

Of course. For several hundred years I could learn everything and be an expert in any direction.

I think it would be a very good choice, to stay to study all the knowledge that there is in this world, it is a very good reason,
it is something like a monk or a wise person, it would be to obtain the gift of wisdom with all the time to learn.

We were not made to live forever. That means that we follow the cause of nature and that means live move in cycle and that means we should not desiring to live forever . If you look at other creations you find out that we all die and also reproducing and that is how the cycle work.

I totally agree with you and i don't want to be immortal.

I am looking forward to meeting my family that is heaven again. If we were meant to live forever God would have make us immortal Wink

If that is possible everybody will chose to live forever. The fear of losing the loved ones grips us.

^^^ If we took all 7.4 billion people who live on earth today, and stood them all together on their own 4 square feet of ground, we would still only use a little over 1000 square miles of land. There is a lot of land out there, especially if you build up, or down.

Forever that is a really long time, nothing can last forever! but would I like to live 1000 year more or 100.000 years more, yeah that would be fun to try, as long as my loves once were with me, and my body was young and fresh.

What would happen with this earth if everyone cut lives forever, I doubt our earth would be able to produce enough food and water!

I will say no...

The beauty of life lives in its counterpart and if we take it away life don't make much sense, at least for me...

^^^ Right! If immortality means the good health that it would take to live forever, why not keep on living? I mean, even if it was boring, boring is simply a form of un-health.

Honestly, I would.
As long as we don't understand what our "consciousness" is, and what happens to it after we die -- I'd rather avoid my mortality.
Immortality would have it's own share of downsides, of course, but I'd take them over the slow decay that we all have to deal with.
Not much of a choice to be honest, since I could go back on my decision if I changed my mind 1000 years later, there's really no reason not to prolong our lifespans.

Scientists have made a discovery that could lead to a revolutionary drug that actually reverses ageing.

The drug could help damaged DNA to miraculously repair and even protect Nasa astronauts on Mars by protecting them from solar radiation.

A team of researchers developed the drug after discovering a key signalling process in DNA repair and cell aging.

During trials on mice, the team found that the drug directly repaired DNA damage caused by radiation exposure or old age.

'The cells of the old mice were indistinguishable from the young mice after just one week of treatment,' said lead author Professor David Sinclair.

Human trials of the pill will begin within six months.

I'm thinking of what if that reverse aging will turn us to infants lol. Of course, you can't say that it could work 100%. Although it could but, it is still an experiment. But meeting your loved ones in heaven is a good thing for me. So I guess I don't want to be immortal.

Even though I am curious about what the far future would be like, I don't want to live forever... Seeing the death of loved ones. Also, the world is already a twisted place today I don't what to be a witness to its continuous degeneration

Living forever is not easy for sure. I saw many movies that most of the people who does not die or live forever will just suffer from the experiences that they wanted to let go. I can't consider myself to live forever.
If i were about to die i will accept it and I can still be happy with my life while I am still alive.

A big big "NO" I want to see a paradise world with God living in this world with a full of none sense people and none stop war & killing each other to attain a power is a big mistake.

If you are believing to bible is dying is part of our life and even scientist discover I think it will become failed we will not llive forever. We are lucky if we are live 100 years because right now the agewho are dying right now is much younger because of the radiation and also the foods we eats compared before.

I personally agree with this opinion those people who attain to live a 100+ ages is one of a lucky people because in our generation most people died earlier.
