These sort of claims have been made time and time again in sensationalist media outlets. Usually the science is not even close to what the media tries to describe it as. I wonder if they are referring to the Metformin trial for reducing mortality in the general population.

it would be good to live forever if the technology to survive going to other planets can be done. its an infinite knowledge and technology for us humans. there will be unending evolution for us and i find it interesting to look for these things so i guess having an immortality is not that boring.

I do not want to live forever, because it will be too tiring. It will be enough for me 100-200 years of a vivid life to live than to exist all the time and not know what to do with boredom.

I will bet that after you reach end of those 200 years you will be saying that you wanna another 200 and this will repeat for eternity Wink

No I would not choose to live forever because we were born to live and die, that's our nature. We would not be able to appreciate what life is and how beautiful life is if we won't die and leave this world. As much as I want to live forever that would be defining the laws of nature too.

I will choose to live forever if I had the chance, the things we will see and the developments and new technologies will make it worthwhile

I think that one long and happy life with health and prosperity will be enough for me. A person must set goals for himself and have time to achieve them. And eternal life is a bit boring, becouse the whole meaning of life is disappearing.

Well, life is a the collection of memories, and the capacity to memorize is physically limited. at a point, in order to record a new memo, the brain will have to discard one. I would like to live long enough but in a not ageing body. Imagine being 80 y old on a body of 35.

would I like to live forever?
I’m not sure, tell you what ask me again in 400 years time.

What I do think is that 80 years isn’t enough but 800 years would be too much

No, that seems like a horrible torture.  The point of life is that there's an ending, how else can you cherish it?

I just want to live forever if everything on earth is equal. I don't want to live in a world of no unitedly,  I'd rather die if the world is not united.
At first glance this would be a very attractive prospect to live forever and see how things play out and i would have wanted that much time to see everything. But the thought of outliving everyone you love and you living pretty much alone is not very bright and colorful for me. So as much as all the promise of living forever has, i think i'd rather live and love in one lifetime

Absolutely when I think of the absolutely unbelievable changes in the last hundred twenty years I'm overwhelmed with appreciation of  the time that I live in and grief that I will not see the next hundred years I understand but give very little weight to the argument that you would grow bored or tired of living or that life without death would lose its luster cuz that thought is set in mortality stepping outside of that I believe it is more likely your perspective on time will change in in a relative sense I think of it like this when I look back on my life it seemed like my early years took forever and the older I get and  the more  time I build up the quicker the years seem to fly by when I was 10 that year was 1/10 of my life now it is around 1/40 in that change in relativity  comes with a great change in perspective for me if you carry out that to 10or20 Thousand Years you might be able to find great joy and Beauty in watching a Forest Grow from a grassland OR even regard the ceaseless Battle of. Erosion and upheaval played out by a mountain range with the same all and reverence someone May the waxing and waning of the Moon

Very well said. I didn't even feel bored while reading this.

For the question, I wouldn't choose because I can never enjoy that kinda life. It's not realistic.

I wouldn't want to live forever, it kills purpose of a man. think that you live 500 years. You would %100 become richer than most people. So your life would be meaningless after all.
