This idea has been on my mind for a very long time, to give my best Friend a half Bitcoin for his marriage. I feel all the gifts are boring and they are not worth the time and this would be the best idea. Also I would love to receive bitcoins as gifts when I marry that will help me plan my retirement very well. People are yet to awake to this but I feel that this is the best gift to give people so to make sure they really make most of their wedding lives with extra Cushing of money.

Nice idea. I wish when I marry would receive also this kind of gift. This is the best idea that would replace instead of fiat currency which is normally used in our country. Maybe if this would be your gift in your wedding it was so a special gift to you. Bitcoin was a unique gift as well. More bitcoin gifts, happier. You can save more bitcoins in your wallet. I think you would earn a lot if you save it more in your web wallet because bitcoin price now was really high.

It is a good idea to give some bitcoin as wedding gift, rather than buy something that maybe the couple not going to used or giving fiat that have inflation rate, bitcoin seems is better than those things, but just need to make sure they understand what is bitcoin and how to used it and they can saved it for the future investment

It is such a great idea, and for those who receive coins as a little token of future well wishes, will someday have a reallly nice "nest egg".  A small fortune will some day become a substantial wealth, in. Bitcoin.

What better way to secure some future riches than to give Bitcoin to the newlyweds.   Cool idea!   Wink

What? I think it is not ideal for you to giver a cryptocurrency at a wedding event. Come on man it is money and what they want is an item than can help them when they start living together, what I mean about that is a piece of item that has a real use for them in their own house like toasters, oven, and other appliances. Giving them a cryptocurrency especially if they don't know what is it could be a burden for them.

I will give bitcoin as a wedding gift for those newly married couple because they can cash it out as soon as they want to cash it out or if they need money and it is a good idea for me because giving bitcoins in a paper wallet is a very unique gift in my opinion and for sure they will get curious on what am i giving to them.
I would love to. If one of my friends is a member of a bitcoin group, I will give him a  bitcoi  as a wedding gift. For sure my friend knows how to use it and I am worry free because it's up to him or his partner whether they save it or they will invest it. I will be delighted if it helps them to save up money for their future plans and and the same time I become more productive through helping others to become a bigger community as a bitcoiner. It is perhaps a monetary gift for the couple but I know some people like it because it is indeed useful for personal purpose and the like.

Why not? If I have plenty bitcoin then I can give it as a wedding gift to those who are really close to my heart and as I can see people who are getting married nowadays are more practical and prefer receiving money as a gift rather than things. This can help them start their little family in the future.

Recently saw a person who has 3D printed his wallet QR code in a key chain. Same way I'll try to make a key chain and present it to my friend. Importantly I'll present him along with a description paper how to operate and make use of it. Later if he's interested let him explore more about it.

In my country it is customary for the wedding to give things or cash. Very few people know what are bitcoins and it would be very long to explain what it is. I don't see the point to give bitcoins to people who don't believe in him.

Maybe such a gift will provoke a new interest among the newlyweds in the crypto currency. So one more crypto-currency family will be born.
I would give such a gift. And immediately would say how much it costs
it could be a great moment to show the world about how bitcoin could work in our daily lives. an idea where a lot of people doubt about for years right? now just go ahead and be brave to do something new. as a good breakthrough actually come from something like this. unfortunately i personally have married , so it's not possible unless if i want the second one lol.

I would print a nice paper wallet for the couple and fund it with a few hundred dollars to make it interesting. I will add a note saying, " If this is not redeemed within 6 months, then the money will be removed. " I will keep the private key and then move the bitcoins to another address, if they did not use it within 6 months. Most people are lazy by nature, so you have to push them a little to do something. ^smile^

I didn't think about it before, but if it's a wedding of IT-family, why not? both of them know how much does it cost and I think thay will be happy  Cheesy
True, if the person who got married has his/her own btc wallet I guess it is acceptable to give them a bitcoin as a wedding gift, surely they will love it because once they wait for until, lets say 5 months at least it will increase a bit.

That is if the person you are gifting in question understands what bitcoin is or probably you will use it as an opportunity to preach the gospel of bitcoin to him or her. As far as I can transfer fiat to someone via bank wire transfers as gift, I see no reason why gifting bitcoin should be a challenge.

Definitely NO, because it's the time you want to show how important the wedding is and you have to give her the best gift you've ever had and it shouldn't be a kind of currency. Maybe some things that is meaningful to your relationship is the right one to gift for your love. I would totally give her gift but not bitcoin rather I use to buy it by bitcoin, it would be memorable for her and me.

I would, why not? It's unique and original, something new for most of the people in this world, and its better to give bitcoin price can go up in the future and gift will worth much more one day, that is better then to give fist money.
I saw people are talking about giving bitcoins as a present to kids, that is maybe better, bitcoin is technology and new kids are much more involved with digital world then old people. As kids they will not know what they have until parent's give them that for 10 years, for that it would be good to add extra bitcoins and that can be a little fortune when a kid grows up.

Some tech-savvy wedding-goers are gifting the digital currency to new couples. Honeyfund, a honeymoon registry that allows guests to give cash rather than gifts, has seen more than a dozen customers donate in bitcoin, said chief executive officer and co-founder Sara Margulis. In recent years, more than a dozen customers have chosen to route donations to the site from bitcoin wallets. Zola, a wedding registry website, has had just two cash funds created for bitcoins since 2013, a spokeswoman said. "I would expect it to pop more as millennials come into the wedding age,” Honeyfund’s Margulis said. “It’s something you will do if your friends and family are already into bitcoin.

Bitcoin as an retirement plan, bitcoin to secure the future of your kids, and now bitcoin as a wedding gift. Whether or not bitcoin replaces cash in future, it looks like the trend of gifting bitcoin instead of cash at weddings is definitely going to catch up and more wedding registeries would be adding bitcoin as a gifting option.

Avoid using a wedding gift "as an opportunity to proselytize a technology you personally believe in, but the recipient could not care less about."

People who are not into bitcoin might not appreciate getting a volatile currency as a gift, and might never use it, thus adding it to the list of lost coins, but I think people who are already using bitcoin or would most probably use it in future then bitcoin instead of cash is the apt wedding gift for them.

That's a great idea to build awareness about this technology. I would definitely give bitcoin to a person (if he is capable of using a smartphone) with a polite advice to hold it for next 10 years. However, instead of a wedding, it would be more appropriate to give such gift to someone who is 5 or 10 years old (of course in the hands of his parents). It will be the perfect time for him to decide what to do with his gift after 10 years from now.
