No sorry for that but my bitcoin is precious to me.  I will give a good amount of money or maybe getting them a trip for honeymoon.  And when they asked where I got my money there I would say about the bitcoin.  Maybe I could encourage them to try it.  If I would give bitcoin as a gift and they do not know anything about bitcoin, perhaps they will not much appreciate it.

Right? To Hell with all that sharing bullshit, I bled for these coins. Angry

They are getting a toaster like everyone else, LOL. Cheesy

But seriously, let's face it people: bitcoin is money. If you give someone money at a wedding, like many people do everyday, the newlywed couple will most likely spend it on important stuff like good, bills, and drugs. If this was gold bars, it would get sold. If it was a stack of fiat, it would be spent. What I'm trying to say is, if you give people value, since most of us are behind a bit it gets spent. The fact that it's bitcoin is just an inconvenience at this point; now they have to find an ATM or register on an exchange. And take a loss. Sad

Give toasters, not bitcoin.

It is not practical. In my hometown, very few people know about Bitcoin. So even if I give BTC as a gift, the couple is not likely to use it. Either they will give it to someone for free, or they will throw it away.
For me if you will give them bitcoin as a gift I do not think that they will throw it from away because nowadays many people has know about bitcoin .I think they accept bitcoin with very pleasure, and so then if they don't accept it ,you need to tell them about the power of bitcoin now and then they know its power I hope they will accept it.

Nah. Most people are too blinkered to value it so they'd probably use the paper wallet to light the wedding cake candles. I'm not into completely squandering money.

If my friend gets married, I will not give a bit of bitcoin I have because a little bit for me is very useful and maybe I will give some money to give a honeymoon gift to them and if my friend ask how I can give such a gift and I will reply This. From where I get my answer from bitcoin if you are interested, I will know how it works

It is a good idea to present bitcoin as a weeding gift but provided that the receiver is knowledgeable in the activities of bitcoin. because there is no sense in sending bitcoin to someone who has nothing to do with bitcoin. If  I have the opportunity of presenting it as a wedding gift I would honorably do so.

Well, it matters what sort of gift and if these people actually like bitcoin. Cause if they don't this is something that's just dumb, now they're going to have to figure out how to sell this thing cause they're going to have no use for it in the least. Though if they do support Bitcoin or something that's going to be different, though I will have to say I highly doubt many people that you know are going to be supporting this but if you do find them and think this is the best gift for them while they're going to be trying to build a family them so be it.

In some circumstances, yes.

I think we should not do it, laughter is a very important holiday of every couple, more than money, they want to receive the most meaning, so you should donate the dishes Material gifts, it would be better.

Giving a certain amount of Bitcoin as a gift for a wedding is much more practical than gifting  stoves, furniture, or whatever related. The newly wed need money more than anything at that time in order to help them on the beginning of their married life. And giving Bitcoin instead of a hard cash is much more thoughtful. With Bitcoin, the couple may gain more from that amount and it will greatly help them in the new chapter of their lives.

On the other hand, I prefer that I am the one who will receive Bitcoin on my wedding and not the one who will give to other. Though it is, just like others say, better to give than to receive, but if Bitcoin is the one to be given, I'll go the other way around. Grin

To be honest, I honestly would want to(in the future). The issue is that it is very unlikely that my future wife would look at bitcoin the same way as I do. Unless I marry a nerdy girlfriend, she definitely won't be interested in it. You know most girls, they prefer shiny jewelry.
Bitcoin will be a wedding gift? Great, this is a new idea. You're right, it just becomes a gift of thought when your beloved loves a bitcoin just like you. If she is completely unaware of bitcoin then donating will not make sense. That's the case!

Some tech-savvy wedding-goers are gifting the digital currency to new couples. Honeyfund, a honeymoon registry that allows guests to give cash rather than gifts, has seen more than a dozen customers donate in bitcoin, said chief executive officer and co-founder Sara Margulis. In recent years, more than a dozen customers have chosen to route donations to the site from bitcoin wallets. Zola, a wedding registry website, has had just two cash funds created for bitcoins since 2013, a spokeswoman said. "I would expect it to pop more as millennials come into the wedding age,” Honeyfund’s Margulis said. “It’s something you will do if your friends and family are already into bitcoin.

Bitcoin as an retirement plan, bitcoin to secure the future of your kids, and now bitcoin as a wedding gift. Whether or not bitcoin replaces cash in future, it looks like the trend of gifting bitcoin instead of cash at weddings is definitely going to catch up and more wedding registeries would be adding bitcoin as a gifting option.

Avoid using a wedding gift "as an opportunity to proselytize a technology you personally believe in, but the recipient could not care less about."

People who are not into bitcoin might not appreciate getting a volatile currency as a gift, and might never use it, thus adding it to the list of lost coins, but I think people who are already using bitcoin or would most probably use it in future then bitcoin instead of cash is the apt wedding gift for them.

As someone who is getting married soon, I think this is a really dumb idea. Just give cash. People who are getting married are often looking to buy a house soon or something... I would much rather have cash that can be used for that than bitcoin, which could plummet in value at any moment. Bitcoin is not a secure investment by any means.

Only if I new the married couple is Bitcoin enthusiasts who now and appreciate the value of Bitcoin. Otherwise this would make no sense and it might not be such convenient choice because of volatility.
So, generaly I would rather pick some other more appropriate gift.

Why not? You've got a new idea here bro.  Grin It looks like new. That would be a jackpot to the newlywed. Their married life would be a lot easier to start if you do that. How about 1 bitcoin, eh?

If they have a bitcoin wallet, then why not give them some of your bitcoin? it is not bad to give some of it and I think newly weds will also appreciate your gift because you still give effort to give a gift to them and if they already know about bitcoin and they also have bitcoin, for sure they will really love your give and save it for their budget for their honeymoon.  Grin

It is a nice idea to gift the wedding couple a bitcoin,if they have good awareness and knowledge of how to use the bitcoin in a right way,to make progress and to have financial growth.

lol  Grin bitcoin for a wedding gift? sorry I think is not cool. but that's ok if you like it. something that have a physical appearance maybe is more memorable for your wedding.
Actually for me receiving bitcoin would be same as receiving a Card with money on it  which could be a desirable gift but it would be better to receive a Physical Item as a Gift since it would leave memories for the receiver.
But if I were to give bitcoin as a gift for such an occasion then it would be better with a Physical gift too.
