If Bitcoin Really Banned in My Country Then I Will Exchange My All Bitcoins Into Another Altcoin And Start Using the Other Altcoins To Grow My Money....
But It Is Not Possible Now....

uh, I think it's safe to say that if bitcoin is criminalized then so will everything else. they're not gonna add 'apart from bbq coin because it's kinda tasty'.
Yeah this is very true. If the government decided to ban bitcoin they would probably ban all cryptocurrencies. It wouldn’t make sense to just get rid on a single crypto currency. So, exchanging into any other alt will not be solution, but keeping using bitcoin secretly is still possible even after any ban.

That is certainly true, but I think that the Government will not do so if they can still control the finances that go into his country. I am convinced that the growth of the bitcoin would be better and would not give the ugliness to the users of the bitcoin. Don't ever think negative because it will make your life becomes bad

If it really has a big punishment like I will be imprisoned if I'm caught using it then I will not use bitcoin. I will just find another way to have income and be free than suffer because I insist in using something that's illegal. May be I will shift to another cryptocurrency that is not illegal and then gain from there. There will always be a way if I look hard enough.
I am not gunna stop using it and I doubt anyone would. It would be really hard to enforce since they wouldn’t have any real access to anyone’s information unless they raid any bitcoin exchanges or bitcoin accepting merchants after finding them guilty for using bitcoins even after ban. Otherwise they will not get chances to track any individual.

What a bunch of sheep!
I thought bitcoiners were revolutionary, I was seriously wrong. But the case is clear to me. I'll keep on using BTC because I don't have much other choice. I don't have the right to open a bank account in the country I'm currently staying. Anyway, moving to another country is no big deal.

I would say, we are more Libertarian and open-minded, not revolutionary. ^smile^ Moving to another country is a big deal for people with strong family connections. Even if you can move, it is not to say that other family members can move too. They might not even be into Bitcoin, and has no incentive to move. Family comes first, then everything else. ^hmm^

I understand that. I left my country when I was 22. I was absolutely free back then, and it would be more difficult nowadays, but I have arranged my life to avoid most local obligations. I can work pretty much anywhere I want if there's a good Internet connection. That's the most important. I wish I could use BTC more, though.

Soo you are a developer or do live from online income its amazing to know someone able to earn enought online and keep living from it. I dont care what government says about bitcoin as i do trust into it, and nothing they say can affect my interest at bitcoin.

You lead and I'll watch you walk away.
Rephrase the question slightly and some of the answers might change.

Would you join Ross Ulbrich in prison to keep using Bitcoin if it were suddenly a crime to use it? How deep is your love?

If there will be any problem with bitcoin in my country (which I am sure will not happen) the our government will announce that, for that time I don't know that what will I do, but for now I know that my government is neutral to it and we are free for bitcoin usage.

i never use btc to buy anything
i just keep it and trade to local currency
so if it say to be illegal its okey for me as long as never use it, just keep and trade
This is true. If you just decieded to keep doing that there really wouldn’t be any way for any authority to figure out it is you and take it for confiscate it. But I believe using bitcoin directly is only possible in that case, trading for local currency might create huge problems.

CryptoTalk.Org - Get Paid for every Post!
Probably not, I'm a wuss but I would need to know what the penalty is first.  I would also want to know how strictly the law is being enforced.   But I don't think that's going to happen in the US.
i would also not use it most probably though i would hold it in my cold storage as much as i have right now collected if in the future it would be legal

That's a tricky question  Cheesy what if I happen to naturally move away from Bitcoin (no particular reason) at the exact time the government makes it illegal? To observers, it'll seem like I'm complying with the law, especially if the timing happens to be perfect. Anyway I can't figure out if that's a 'yes' or 'no' so I voted 'not sure'  Roll Eyes

Not all of us are, There are a few posts, (admittedly not many,) of people saying they wouldn't stop. Mine included.

If by using bitcoin I could go to jail then I would consider to sell it as soon as possible and comply with my goverment regulations. But of course the government should provide the real explanation why they forbid the use of bitcoin.

And What if they honestly answered that they were banning it because they couldn't control it and thereby control you?

Will still keep using bitcoin even when they declare it to be illegal. But will also depend to how serious the goverment is. If they are monitoring internet service provider for it then I might have no choice.

I'm a law abiding citizen 😄

But why must a country make bitcoin illegal in the first place?
I mean I don't think bitcoin can harm a country's economy. Instead it actually helps it to grow. Right?
If in case bitcoin would be illegal to your country, they have to have a concrete reason.

I think i will keep using it, i will secretly using it, i know when the government ban bitcoin i will have the difficulty to exchange it to fiat but i will find a way to convert it, i love bitcoin because it is decentralized and because of that nobody can interrupt me from using it, neither a person nor the government

i would not expect it to happen but if someday my country considers bitcoin illegal i think i won't use bitcoin any longer

because it's too risky for my life and i don't want to get in jail because of bitcoin

If I was wealthy and able to afford good lawyers, then I would be more likely to take risks. Now I am lucky to not face the decision, since my country will probably allow Bitcoin now and in the future.
Lawyers? but I think in this cases is the job for the human rights institution because there are relationships with the limitation of human rights. the lawyer just helping me for fighting with government in a court.
