i would like to accept 60% from my salary into bitcoin, because i think bitcoin price will be going high in the future and now its right time for hold as much as btc i can. Grin

That's a good way to get the salary. 60% gives us a better price if the bitcoin price increases and even if price decreases it can be compensated with the remaining 40%. Now its been increasing continuously so as quoted its good to hold.

It all depends on the situation. As of now, I would say no to that. I use my salary for my daily living -- go to the market, buy goods, clothes, pay bills, where bitcoin is not yet accepted as payment, so I would prefer it to be in fiat. If my money was intended to be in my savings, it is okay for me to be in bitcoin, since I will just save it now and use it later.

I agree that it depends on situation because if the employer is located across the globe i would prefer bitcoin. But for local jobs, i would prefer cash Smiley since BTC fluctuates and if you need cash immediately, you have to exchange it first.

Wait... What?
Having your salary in BTC would just like having a double job back-to-back, because you can say that besides your real job, you're also working on investment business.
Not really... That would be like putting your money in a savings account, and trying to earn interest. Doesn't count as a job, unless it's actually making you money... and I don't consider the banks 0.025% a job.
Fuck the banks...

Err... yeah, forgive my poor choice of word. When I said job, I mean earning-for-a-living. No matter how small the extra interests is, it's still an earning.  Cheesy

Nope.  I still like physical currency and I treat bitcoin like digital gold--I have no interest in spending it.  In addition I don't want the value of my paycheck to fall 20% before I get a chance to spend it.  So btc would have to be far more stable (and accepted by merchants) before I'd ever want to take my paycheck in btc.

If the BTC price is stable and there are establishments who accepts BTC in my area, I would probably opt for a certain percentage of my income to be paid in BTC. The price is key. If the price per BTC is extremely volatile, I would not want my pay to be depreciated in value.

No i don't, because price of bitcoin is not stable it is too dangerous to receive my salary on bitcoin. And today still there are not many people who use bitcoin as payment method in real life.

An interesting topic I think because I do receive my paychecks in BitCoin. Now that I have a BitCoin debit card, and am able to spend BitCoin anywhere, I figured "why not"

Join BitWage. They are a service in which you can direct deposit your paycheck to your BitCoin wallet with any company you work for. They don't even have to know that they are paying you in BitCoin.

I think the more people that do this, the more BitCoin will become a real thing in this world. If there aren't people who make a change, there will never be a change.

Who knows... I don't spend much Fiat anyway, so I don't spend much BitCoin either. If the price increases, I'll have a lot of money, if it declines... I probably wasn't going to spend it anyway...

That's the good part of living with your parents xD, they currently pay for most things for me. (except gas and phone bill) ugh...

I'll accept. Because, already I've a plan to start a small scale industry and accepts Bitcoin and also planned pay my employee's salary as Bitcoin. Rate doesn't matters, I'll pay in BTC that is equivalent amount of employee's salary in INR.

If you are a BTC lover, would you one day like to get your paycheck 100% in BTC?

Personally I won't. Because many facilities in my area doesn't support BTC payment. Smiley I do not mind receiving, say, 20% of my pay in BTC denomination.

yeah me neither.
because of the same thing, if i receive my salary in bitcoin then i have to go sell bitcoin to receive money in return and be able to spend it because there are no places to spend bitcoin here.

I cannot afford to lose my money when price goes down. So I'll not accept Bitcoin as my full time job salary.

100% in bitcoin? No but 50% of it would be the ideal one for me. Can't agree with receiving all my paycheck in form of bitcoin, since only few merchants on my area accept it and I have to exchange most of it so in the end I might ending up paying some of it as exchange fee which isn't good considering someone exchanging huge paychecks.

Nope. I don't believe the heavy volatility that we have will go away within a serious amount of years (if ever). I have bills to pay. If I receive my salary in Bitcoin and the price starts tanking 20% in a matter of days, then I have a problem. And not only I will have problems, but other people as well. Maybe if I could choose, I would have 10% of my salary being paid out in Bitcoin at some point.

Not at all.
My salary would be useless tomorrow and I may get rich the other day. That's how volatile it is.
You cannot call that a "stable income".

But not until bitcoin become our national currency.
it looks like you have not been taking full advantage of the fluctuations. so you think that fluctuates is a terrible thing. whereas these fluctuations could be an addition to income or salary in bitcoin? you should be able to learn from it

I think I wouldn't mind having a large portion of my salary paid to me in Bitcoin, but I do need some of the cash relatively quickly after I get my paycheck too. If there was a simple and quick exchange platform I could have available at most times, where I would basically have next-to-immediate funds in my bank account, I would gladly take my entire paycheck in Bitcoin as it would save on a lot of the other issues I have with buying it at some point.

If from BTC I can have a more salary than I working on real life, Why not? Maybe BTC only becomes a side job for me. because my real job is too precious to be abandoned and price bitcoin is unstable make me think again.
