I would go up to $200 for an xfx 5970... or 50 for an xfx 5830... I'm not however going to pay ebay prices and I also think it reflects recent price drops as we get closer to asics launching. I also will consider what someone is looking to get.

I put the list up as a bare minimum of what I'd buy the cards for and it kinda reflects my interest in certain cards... I'm less interested in 5800 series because they lack resale value. I want to help people out by taking cards off there hands. But I don't want to lose money when I sell them in a month either. If you havn't noticed... the number of people buying has dropped off while the number selling has increased... Supply and demand in economics would tell us that leads to a buyers market and falling prices.

Please don't take the list as an insult though.

You're only willing to pay $120 for a fully working reference 5970 and $24 for a 5830?

Wanted to post a list of prices I'd pay in bitcoins for fully working cards.

These are minimum prices... Reference Powercolor or other crappy brand prices... For a beefier cooler on the card or better brand I'd be willing to pay more.

5830 - 2btc
5850 - 4btc
5870 - 5btc
5970 - 10btc

6850 - 3btc
6870 - 3.5btc
6950 - 5.5btc
6970 - 7btc
6990 - 12btc

All obo as well.

And also... Bump on broken cards!

I have a 5970 with only a single core that works, and no output gets displayed. One of the Volterra regs on the GPU closer to the DVI ports was shorted out and was removed, so that GPU isn't detected although it appears to not have a short downstream of the reg. It's possible that if you have a bunch of broken cards you could replace the missing regulators and get the other GPU back online.

Had a bit of trouble with the card LiteBit sent... I couldnt get it to load drivers or install. I worked out a deal with him for 4.5btc instead of the 7.5btc originally agreed upon. Great transaction otherwise and I would trade with him again!

Hi. I have a gigabyte 5850 dual fan. The card works perfectly for both mining and gaming. The fans however are another story. It was either insufficient wire thickness or bad connection, but one of the fans failed to spin much at all. I thought it might've been un-lubed bearing, and I remedied that, but it still refused to spin properly when connected to the card. When connected to a separate 12v power source, both fans, connected individually, ran at expected speeds. I decided to take it off and tie on 2 x 80mm x 25mm fans to the heatsink. It cools much better now and has a similar noise level, but it now requires a 3rd slot, MAYBE a 4th, if you're putting it in a computer without risers.

Like all gigabyte nonref 5850, this is voltage locked, somewhere between 1.0875v and 1.2v. It mines with core at 1035, regardless of whatever voltage I pick.
I still have the original fans and shroud.

Not sure what to sell it for, seeing as it is functionally perfect. Even the fans change speed if you tell it to via whatever software you use for OC/fan.

Clearing the shelves off as I tear down my GPU farm. I've got a 5970 on which the fans spin up and it warms up a bit but it doesn't do anything. Interested in it before I chuck it on eBay? I'll take BTC or USD.

What about a broken 6970 ?

This story kills me, but I bought this thing in a private sale and it was brand new in the box.

I had run it to test on my test bench and everything was great. I wanted to put a waterblock on it and then realized the block I had was the wrong revision.

I was taking the card out of my car and I dropped the thing on the pavement.

Card didn't look super damaged, but it wouldn't post. I took off the stock heatsink and couldn't see anything major, but no dice.

So not sure if based on your knowledge that tells you it's easy or hard to fix, but make me an offer. I can take some pics if you want.
