The last few weeks there is a lot of talk about private chat and video/voice chat. But how is this going to increase xc sales? how can you garantee that the people who want private chats are going to buy xc? (im trying to understand what way xc is going, so this is no troll of something)

This:

***The XC Daily Update***

Hello all

It's been confirmed by the developers that XChat will include voice calling in post-Rev 3 editions, and video calling further into the future.

So basically we have a decentralised, private, Skype.

Here's to the future!

I would like to read to source code in order to see whether XC clones these new features from Talkcoin and Korecoin.
Anyone could point me to the recent source code? Thanks.

Yeah, we bet you would. Get in line!

XC

In the new release of Talkcoin users could create encrypted private room and only who knows the passkey could see the messages. Now only the name of the room still not encrypted, but in the next release all will be encrypted. Wink

Ok. Ah well, it appears that there's no longer any doubt that XChat uses different tech to Talkcoin.

Nice. Done.

You're welcome to check back in here when we make the code public.

Ok thanks for the info.
And the question about VoIP feature. It uses the same tech with KoreCoin ?

We haven't coded that yet, thus since no voice chat tech exists yet, no.

Also I doubt it, since our communications protocol is different.

Dan (XC's core dev) has extensive experience designing mesh networks for communication, so he'll make use of that for XChat's voice-based features.

Dan has SIP background? LOL I heard from linkedin.
I'm familiar with SIP, H323, and MGCP. looking forward to make a Peer to Peer call by Xchat.

Hey I've been away away from my pc for long time and the latest version I was running of xc wallet was 1.45 I guess. Now I've had downloaded 2.45 latest version, dragged my data.dat backup file into appdata - xcurrency folder, opened it and now it's synchronisizing, but still no xc amount, transaction history, nothing. Then how I should get my xc back? It is avaliable on the older xc wallet.

Definitely need to move your wallet.dat, not data.dat.
Oh, it must be called wallet.dat ? Thanks, I will try to rename it.

NO.  MOVE the wallet.dat from the old x11coin directory to the new xcurrency directory under your roaming folder.
It works, thanks one more time. Smiley

It would be nice to have XC in one of these new smartwatches voip, xchat ,and xc - payment all in my smartwatch
This is future

With an Android base app, this is not difficult.  Been looking over the new stuff for watches/glass - pretty easy to port your stuff over to those as they tether to the phone and hence the app.

For the dude with the wallet problem:

BACKUP UR WALLET.DAT WITH YOUR COINS.

There have been many releases, complete wallet overhaul, and new app folder. Delete your old wallet files(NOT THE WALLET.DAT), and delete the app folder "x11coin" or w/e it was called.

Dowload the latest wallet, let it run to create your new xcurrency app folder. Close wallet, copy the xcurrency .conf to the app folder(so you can sync to the network), now COPY the wallet.dat file to your new XCURRENCY app folder, and replace the existing wallet.dat(it has no coins) in there.

Now open your new wallet qt, let it fully sync, if you can't see ur/some coins, just -repairwallet in console. If you have saved your old wallet.dat with your coins, fear nothing.

I guess it would be quite hard to compare these technologies, as there hasn't been any releases or details released from either one. Secondly, I think two different development teams wouldn't think alike Smiley

I presume you moved wallet.dat to the xcurrency folder Cheesy

is it already fully synced?

Does it matter if you are on an old wallet ? Im on 1.5...

Nope, download the new client and move your wallet. Personally, I just run the new binary and it pulls from the proper folder.

My simple folder is on desktop, but I know that original folder with all important files is in roamining - appdata - xcurrency. So I moved my backup in there. No it's not done synchronising yet. Does it change anything?
