Relax mate, i really think price pop is coming soon, pressure is building nicely, nothing too fast... It will be like last time, we will suddenly just jump 30% except this time from a higher base.... Going to be a nice ride...

Well, the BIG difference is that multipath can be applied not only to mix currencys but general IP traffic of any kind, e.g. everything that uses the IP-protocol and all layer 4 (OSI) protocols.

So, if there was a way to transfer larger amounts of data between clients, then you could technically build a Tor-like network on top of the XC network? Does the XC network support moving larger amounts of data right now?

I do not see the need for tor in this case, you accomplish pretty much the same thing. But sure, tor have alot of discussions regarding multipath, http://www.researchgate.net/profile/Georg_Carle2/publication/4302670_Dynamic_Multipath_Onion_Routing_in_Anonymous_Peer-To-Peer_Overlay_Networks/links/0c960524b1c3193544000000

How much data you can move depends on the nodes in the network.. as in the "real" internet there exits bottlenecks depending upon the speed of he internet connection as well as hardware performance (however that is not usually the case anymore). Short answer, yes, you can ship big data, theoretically. It demands no special support for it, its there. But the bottlenecks are a problem. There might be solution further on that will be able to calculate latency and bandwidth for paths/links.. do not know if it exists.

Edit: while other currencys are focusing on the small picture regarding the currency in it self and that it should be anonymous, XC have a more solid ground that you can build any type of service upon and make it anonymous.. storage, messaging.. you name it.

So, I've been doing a little research on XC and other anonymous coins, just so that I can have a better understanding of something I might invest in. I'm a little hung up on how the xNode protocol works, though. Is it like Monero's CryptoNote? I'm not sure if there's tension between XC and Monero/CryptoNote/etc, and if there is then I'll bring my question elsewhere. Not trying to cause any trouble, I'm just genuinely curious.

One of Monero's faults is enormous blockchain bloat... it will never be suitable for mobile platforms because of this, and it lends to slow transaction times.

XC was built ground-up to be operable on mobile platforms, and even though transactions are divided by the trustless mixer and sent across multiple nodes and then brought back together at their final destination, there is little to no blockchain bloat in the process.  This means fast transaction times, and the ability for the devs to integrate XCurrency into mobile platforms when the time is right, opening the door to vast opportunity that's largely been untouched.

I have heard about the bloated chain concern by some influential people before, when the topic came to XC . I admit that I am cryptotech-illiterate, but if Dan and team can provide proof through testing or plain practice(exchanges' volume), that there is idd no such problem, it might have a positive effect on XC adoption, even bigger than anon.

Cryptonote is for mixing currency transactions, period. So, you can use multipath for every service you can think of (messaging for example), and be almost 100% anonymous since you can not track the source.

Think of it as an routing protocol, eg OSPF and on every hop you perform NAT and set src address to the router.

I'ts a decentrlised multipath anon system. Basically every wallet is a node, every time you send a anon tx it goes to multiple nodes.

Thanks for the kind messages everyone. I'm feeling a lot better than yesterday, it's nothing serious, just some terrible stomach flu but everything is fine now.

Concerning the thread title: I will talk to Arlyn and Rob to see what we can come up with. If you have good ideas, send me a pm or reply to this post.

Hi good to hear you are getting better. stomach flu is a bitch Smiley

this is my proposal:

[ANN][XCurrency] Decentralised trustless Privacy / Encrypted XChat / Scalable Platform

That wont fit. I changed it to [XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy / Encrypted XChat / Privacy Platform till we figure out something better.

yeah that sounds cool, or switch the last for "blockchain 2.0", so we don't have privacy twice

***The XC Daily Update***

Hello all

Today,
- Dan and Christian are working on... undisclosed tech

- Rob and I have been discussing media strategy for said undisclosed tech

- And you should retweet, like/share, and generally spread the following:

"Imagine instant messages did not disclose your IP, used no-one's servers, and left no trace on your computer. #XC #XChat #privacy #byebyeNSA"

Could not be more impatient! Keep up the great work team!

As co-founder of XC Italia and XC investor, I'm officially willing to set up a bounty of 350 XC for a working XC paper wallet generator approved by Dan, synechist and the XC team. I will immediately pm synechist, get coding Wink

WOW! You legend!  Cheesy

XC already gave me an awful lot, and I'm sure it will keep it on in the future...giving some back to the community is the least I can do Smiley
In addition, I myself have been recently thinking that I could use a paper wallet for XC, and it is an important service and addition for a coin, expecially if it is aiming to the top!

There are never any development updates for XC.  The devs abandoned the coin.
