A summary of wallets
(took several hours to get something remotely usable)

For those for prefer some no-nosense HTML: https://xmrmonero.com/news/choose-your-wallet

I would add a note about mymonero being web-based.

Also you could add a note at the bottom that remote node and web based wallets have reduced privacy.

As a software developer I still refuse to pronounce GUI as "gooey." It doesn't seem like an acronym that was ever intended to be pronounced as a word. Plus it just sounds stupid and I feel stupid saying it  Cheesy

Gee, you and I both, buddy.

Is there any reason why HitBTC exchange isn't listed in OP? While some other defunct exchanges are there...

Also would be great if you update OP link to latest version of yam miner - M8a version is available at

https://mega.co.nz/#F!h0tkXSxZ!f62uoUXogkxQmP2xO8Ib-g

and it has more up-to-date list of pools and some stability fixes.

New YAM! Sweet! gonna try it out tonight. Any improvements in core2?

sh: autom4te2.6x: command not found
aclocal: autom4te2.6x failed with exit status: 127

You need to install all the autofoo stuff. And possibly a compiler.

Try (as root):

yum install autoconf automake glibc-devel gcc

Might need some more after that if it still doesn't work.

Package gcc-4.4.7-11.el6.x86_64 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do

Have you tried installing this

Code:
yum install gcc gcc-c++ kernel-devel

 https://linuxmoz.com/centos-install-build-essentials/

and

Code:
yum groupinstall "Development Tools"

https://linuxmoz.com/centos-install-development-tools/

Note the unconventional cAPITALIZATION!

Constructive criticism not insult, my bad if I worded it harsh.

It didn't really...  no worries.

Not DB related and Not GUI related? Then no rational price rise.

my conclusion exactly.

xmr.to is also a recent development.

^^^^ yay!!!

(i know how to pronounce goooey... but if I'm Joe Sixpack and im like "hey, whats the moner-o all about" and I listen to a podcast, i may not know what GUI is but I can google it... whereas gooey, well,,,, I don't even want to google that. Smiley )

Good point. Smiley

Up-to-date (as of 2015-02-23) Windows blockchain torrent (also includes bitmonerod and simplewallet v0.8.8.6 binaries and latest lightWallet GUI set up to use local daemon):

I'm seeding this new one, but in the future it would be a good idea to include the date in the package name.

Thx, Updated

In your summary I see no mention of the hard fork and the dust removal.

I think his summary was excellent for ~$3.25, but I have clarified it with the omissions you pointed out.  The nature of a summary is a bullet point list, not a transcription.

Good point. Will do...assuming DB version release doesn't relegate this to obsolescence in the interim.

That, and people will pick their own favorite wallet anyway. Bitcoin has Electrum, Multibit, blockchain.info, etc. We have Lightwallet, .NET wallet, MyMonero, and maybe some others I'm forgetting.
Qt GUI.

people are teaming up to manipulate the price

Is this actually happening? I know it was attempted when the downtrend started with the BCX "exploit" etc, but everybody involved lost his shirt, once again proving that teaming up for manipulation a free market is a -EV concept.

Yeah like an Idiot that's when I first bought just to spite that fucker.

Loved it. BTW Ginger GUI is pronounced Gooey. Smiley

I tried to convert to text but pretty much failed. I will try again later unless someone else is doing this. This is what I got up to Ginger's introduction. As you can tell it's pretty useless.

summary of the missive? I don't want to listen to some people drone on and on unprofessionally about some mundane esoteric mess

I need a succinct outline. don't like surprises.

For 10 monero I will provide you with a summary.

LMFAO @ all the new Monero users making all these demands recently.

They think there is a DEV with a 30 million pre-mine stash.
