Still wild and free
(I'm not in MEW).
My preference goes to moneroeconomy.com
In absolute I prefer xmrmonero.com, but I find it too general to suit the official website of the MEW.

In that case I would still love something uber cool to use xmrmonero.com, if not a redirection.

My (current) choice: moneroeconomy.com
Rationales:
1. smooth wrote: "bitcoin.org and bitcoinfoundation.org (again note the lack of a hyphen -- why are we going off and doing what almost nobody else does with their site name?)"

2. moneroeconomy.com is human-readable and can be parsed by search engines as "monero economy" (not sure xmrmonero would be)

3. dashed version would only result in a very slight improvement, SEO-wise. I consider the improvement is not worth the disadvantage of not following point 1 above.

Lists updated with latest feedback from MEW and ANN.

An important note from smooth
bitcoin.org and bitcoinfoundation.org (again note the lack of a hyphen -- why are we going off and doing what almost nobody else does with their site name?).
Just after Artic proposes that the vote should be split in two parts:

One aspect of this vote that is important is that there are two different issues here. The word combination and whether to use a dash or not. So we should vote on pairs xmrmonero.com / xmr-monero.com vs gomonero.com / go-monero.com vs moneromerw.com / monero-mew.com and then decide on the use of dash or not as the primary domain with the other domain in the pair as the 301 redirect.

I will be using xmrmonero.com / xmr-monero.com as the example since that is the pair I support. The non dash version is considered by far the stronger domain and is by far the most readable when used. It is also the best when the domain is communicated orally. The only advantage of the dashed domain is a possible slight advantage in SEO; however this is counterbalanced by the possibility that it could be considered aggressive SEO and be penalized. My own experience with using the dash vs no dash version on my own websites is comparable SEO results with a very slight bias in favour of the dash version. For everything else the non dash version wins hands down. For this SEO reason I had a very slight preference for the dash version and voted accordingly.

smooth has made a very strong case in favour of the non dash version which is way more than enough to swing my vote in favour of the non dash version. So I am changing my vote to xmrmonero.com.

So:
* dashed or undashed
* words to use

I am convinced to move to nondashed so I will update the voting list accordingly (again, yes, I know).

Monero (XMR) - secure, private, untraceable
xmr-economy.com or monero-economy.com may sound better / more professional than monero mew (which sound like monero meow)...
mew can stay in website meta to be found by search engines.

...Just an idea, not sure if others said this before.
I was going to post the same - mew is the sound the cat makes and xmr-mew or monero-mew sounds like a joke to me. monero-economy would be my choice.

HyperStake is the first cryptocurrency after Monero to uses OpenAlias. Granted, not HyperStake itself, but one of its IRC bot, named... hyppero

It that names rings a bell, this is normal. The bot is maintained by tippero's maintainer, MoneroMoo.

I'd like to mention that Myriadcoin is interested in porting OpenAlias (What is OpenAlias). HyperStake would miss the "first Bitcoin fork with OpenAlias" prize but it would then be easy to port it too.

As an encouragement, the IRC bot in ##hyp-games already allows you to withdraw your HYP using OpenAlias - should you have setup a oa1:hyp line on a domain's TXT record.

Long instructions on using it, also applies to tippero: OpenAlias with HyperStake.

Since Myriadcoin is interested too, we now have a total of four cryptos to possibly use OpenAlias: Monero, HyperStake, Myriadcoin and Bitcoin if the Electrum PR is accepted.

Long live the cow!

A pony, a cow... Monero is becoming the Old McDonald farm. The McMonero farm!

Old MacMonero had a farm, E-I-E-I-O,
And on that farm he had a pony, E-I-E-I-O,

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
I vote xmr-monero.com should be reserved for a future project. MEW is disappointing IMO

MEW-Monero.com is perfect

My vote is for xmr-monero.com, but as I seem to note that florida.haunted's and at least one other's votes for it seem to be missing from the list, I ask:

Must one be a MEW member to cast a counted vote?
I reseted the vote, but it seems like a bad idea, since 1) new ideas are being proposed constantly 2) it is understood as restricted voting.
So I will just add everyone, and I leave it to early voters to decide if they want to change their vote at the light of the new proposals.

The list is updated with feedback from both the ANN and the MEW thread - the votes on the two URL below have kept in sync. Please everyone review if your intent is on par with what is written.

As an exceptional measure, everyone has an equal footing: 1000 votes or 0 vote (not a MEW member), your vote count as much.

Gresham's Lawyer
No it doesn't. If it can't be used for illegal purposes then it's worthless. The point of decentralized crypto is to protect us from unjust laws and allow us to decide for ourselves what is right and what isn't. That's what freedom is all about.

Respectfully disagree. The Bitcoin blockchain is set up to easily allow someone who knows any addresses belonging to you to see who has given you money and where you are sending it. This is unacceptable from a privacy standpoint -- you would never accept a bank publishing all your transactions out in the clear. This is precisely why Monero exists, to be actual virtual cash.

And, in any case, if you believe that there is a 100% foolproof system for payments that you can use to break any law you'd like to that exists online... well, I would say you'll probably find out soon enough that that's a bad idea the hard way.

It's hard to tell if you actually believe what you're saying or if you're just attempting to limit your liability. I certainly can't fault you for that.

But stealth addressing alone is plenty sufficient for the issues you describe: protecting your privacy from your "neighbor". However, it's not our neighbors we're concerned about. It's our brothers.

Privacy is not about lawbreaking, its about privacy.  Confusion on this matter seems... weird (and possibly RICO engendering).
Stealth addressing is only a part.  When Bitcoin has stealth addresses on by default, (or forced on), within the protocol.  That would provide some part of the privacy picture.

Votes are reset with the new proposal, so please restated your vote (be it the same or the new contestant).

New list
Please vote for only one (othe domain name may be redirected, recycled...). This is the one for the MEW website - it should only be open to MEW members to choose, but since I did not get much answers...
monero-mew.com: (5) David Latapie, Moneromoo, Jojatetok, GreekBitcoin, Lloydimiller4
xmr-monero.com: (0)
xmrmonero.com: (0)
go-monero.com: (0)
gomonero.com: (0)
xmr-economy.com: (0)
monero-economy.com: (0)

I might be nitpicky about these things, but monero-mew.com translates in my head to "monero monero economy workgroup".  Undecided
Same goes for the "xmr monero" proposals, seems redundant and even worse, quite unspecific.

I like the "go-monero" proposal in general, but to me it seems like a general way of promoting Monero. Would be a good domain name used by the MEW to promote Monero, but not for the MEW itself. (Slightly guessing here, as not involved in MEW atm).

xmr/monero-economy is again very general. I like it better than the other proposals, but still... What about being more specific? Like monero-economy-workgroup.com? It's long, but who cares - nobody types URLs anymore anyway.

A pity that .group's sunrise period isn't announced yet, I quite like xmr-economy.group. Cheesy

Breaking news!
(No, it's not yet another ordinary release Wink)

Monero Client v0.41.0 has just been released! With the separation of my API and GUI integration of Monero Core's RPC functions, I was able to successfully distinct process and network communication management, thus, resulting in a long-anticipated feature added to the client. Let me present the changelog of today's new release:

  • Added a way to use remote processes: From now, you are not obeyed to host your own daemon instance, but can rely on an open node. This results in a much lower overall memory footprint on your system, thus, the application should cause no more losses in computing performance

How to use a remote daemon?
    • First, you need to look for an open node which can be used as a reliable remote server (for example: node.moneroclub.com:8880)
    • After that, open Monero Client .NET, and then select Settings -> Options -> Network from the menu
    • Paste the information of the selected node as seen on the image below:

  • Enabled the usage of proxies
  • Balances in the 'Send coins' tab are now selectable
  • Fixed a bug which prevented the account data files from saving

Please consider donating to one of the addresses in my signature if you like this update or want to support further development.
