I Never really understood why Monero has such high MCAP.  There are many better projects out there

I never really understood why it is still so low and why shittokens like EOS are valued so high, whitout a functional product.

because they have a roadmap

It's simple really. There is no other project out there that delivers fungibility. Fungibility is arguably necessary for a functional currency. Also it is the only project that delivers privacy if that is something that you need. Well Monero and it's forks and I think you can imagine why it's forks would be taken less seriously. Also bytecoin that it was forked from but bytecoin is really scammy.

If all one was to do was read every projects marketing wank than one would come to the conclusion that there are a dozen projects out there that offer privacy but the other ones also have all these cool and interesting features that monero doesn't have. The reason monero is so capitalized is because all of that marketing wank is just lies while monero doesn't have cool and interesting features it actually does deliver on privacy and fungibility.

Now it is used only as a tool for manipulating pump/dump on exchanges.
Zcash requires further development and "real" anonymity.

Disappointed there's nothing listed on roadmap for 2023.

I think that 2023 was a reference to the famous Fluffy's Exit Scam which is supposed to happen in 2023  Smiley

I think dash is making much more progress in terms of building use case communities around the world. The decentralized governance structure and instantsend tech make it impossible for monero to compete with. This is reflecting in the price.

You Don't Say?   Undecided

Dash testing critical YTD support levels at 2:1 XMR.  Once that psychologically important round number floor is breached, expect the stampede of Masternode owners rushing for the exists to get very ugly and bloody.

As was foretold, so shall it be:

The fact is that Dash was not premined and it is not a scam. There was an instamine problem, but it was long time ago and it was sorted and explained. Do your own research and you will find the facts. I actively watch Dash and Monero since 2014 and I have to say that Dash has done much bigger progress than Monero. Anyway we will see in following years which coin will be the real digital cash.

It is true, Dash did make a 'progress' that may seem much more than Monero one. But what is the quality of that 'progress'? I was a holder of Dash called Dashcoin in that far 2014 year. And the main goal of Dashcoin was anonymity. What is the Dash anonymity today? What a fundamental math does support the Dash anonymity? No math. Just unverified new code written by newbies like EVAN DUFFIELD. Note he left the core development and is just mentioned as strategy adviser on the official Dash site.

Actually, Dash team has lost focus on anonymity and start to develop several other branches of spontaneous community requirements, such as master-nodes to implement hybrid PoW/PoS, instant payments and decentralized vote system. So they have spread the focus among various tasks. But Dash has neither fundamental scientific-proven math nor well-done programmatic architecture inside. It is a product made 'on knee' of narrow enthusiasts' group.

Nevertheless, I respect the energy that drives Dash core devs. They have done a lot of work indeed, and it can't be denied. But... If I need the true anonymous payments, I do NEVER use Dash. Only Monero does have the fundamental, scientific-proven math inside. ZCoin has too young algorithm that may contain catastrophic vulnerabilities. Furthermore, apart of that, if you just send money between regular and anonymous addresses in ZCoin, you lost anonymity very fast. This fact was discussed a lot in the net...

What about price, Dash costs more than Monero simply because Dash coin supply is much lower. Furthermore, Dash mining algorithm discourages miners to participate a lot, decreasing mining supply when Dash hashrate rises.

P.S. Also you have to trust (though it is not 100% trust) to Dash master-nodes to send 'anonymous' payments.

only hodl what you understand and love!
You can not ban a decentralized currency.  Bitcoin was banned several times.  But you can easily imprison all Masternode owners that mix coins that was involved in criminal activity.
Bitcoin was banned many times, really?
I have not heard about Bitcoin bans.
Can you give me original articles on these bans, please.

Google china bans bitcoin, I think I heard that before. Tongue

I suppose the fact that it's a premine scam doesn't factor into the assessment?

due to the fact that i want to invest in some already established crypto (which monero in my opinion definetley is) i would like to find out more about XMR, where can i find the roadmap for monero?

only scamcoins have roadmaps.

there once was one, a while ago ...  oh it looks like it was updated

https://getmonero.org/resources/roadmap/

Are you fucking stupid? The roadmap is "have a coin that has private transactions". And the USA Secret Service wants USA Congress to help them: https://news.bitcoin.com/us-secret-service-congress-help-prevent-illicit-use-privacy-coins/

Obviously when the Feds react viscerally to a coin, it shows that the technology is sound. Privacy coins work and Monero has a giant use case.

The updates to the roadmap are just ASIC resistance. Which brings down the security and value of the coin, exactly as we have witnessed. Monero is the top privacy coin and the US Feds just tipped their hats - privacy coins are officially the growth sector of crypto for the next 1+ year.
